Dec 22, 2009I want to seach and select the newest date in a column. There are green, red and black fonts in the column. I only want to only seach the cells with black fonts.

Jun 4, 2014I want to sort a column in Excel 2007 which is having dates. Normally, we use oldest to newest or newest to oldest option in sort & filter. But i am unable to find this option in my excel sheet. how can I find this option in Sort & Filter.

What is Needed is to look at "test Group Identification" and compare it to "Actual Start Time" and keep only the Newest Record and remove any Exact Duplicated data

Dec 29, 2009Is there a way to pull out the oldest date ((04) Apr 25, 1950) and the newest date ((02) Feb 14, 2050)...?
i have tried the Min function (min(P28:P31)) and the Max function (max(P28:P31)) both resulting in a "0"..
i have also searched this forum as well as others and found formulas that were posted by Aladin Akyurek..but those did not work either..

Aug 26, 2009I have a table that contains names and dates. I need to find the most recent / latest date in each record. For example:

The results should be:

There are multiple entries for each ID in column D which gives multiples dates each entry was given in column B. I need a VBA Macro that will identify duplicate entries in Column D and keep only the most recent entry by date in column B.

Jun 20, 2006In the included workbook I've got a sheet that needs to be updated every time a userform is completed. So I intend to run a macro after the data is entered to find duplicates, and delete the older row.
so, column A must match then column C must match then look in columns AK & AL to find the newest entry to keep. I also need to delete any rows where column A is empty(light Green), no matter what other columns have data.
In my example sheet all the yellow's match for column A but the bright yellow's are the only "keepers", because one has a different number in "C" and the other is the newest.
Also remember that this is just part of a much bigger, multi-sheet book so I will need to I.D. this sheet in the code.

Selecting All Data In Specific Columns Without Selecting Adjacent Column
Mar 10, 2014Using VBA, I need to Select A1:C14.
The problem is that A1:C14 contains blank cells, and there is also an adjacent column D that I do not want to copy.
So, UsedRegion and CurrentRegion aren't doing it for me. (It selects Column D too.)
Obviously, this is an example...the real data set is an export and varies in size.

Jun 20, 2013I created a basic excel weekly budget and would like to know how much money I have as of todays date. on the top row I have a date range from Sunday to Saturday, so it looks like this:

with the month manually put in above it.
then below I have income and expenses with a Overall below that, so basically what I want to is see the Overall value based on todays date, not sure how to do this with the weekly range and automatic current date(which is =TODAY() as far as I know) I have attached a photo as a reference.

Every month I have to add a row at the top of the sheet to enter a date and dollar amount. Eventually there will be more than 42 entries. I have a collumn with a lot of data like:aaa-bc

klmn-yy-ff
What I need is behind every cell a new cell with only the 1st part like:aaa
bbb
abc
aa
bbb
aa
abc
klmn
klmn
What I do now is use a new column with this formula:
[Code].....
And I made a translation table in which the 1st 4 characters are translated to what I want to see. In a 3d column I use
[Code]....
to get the results I need. Since I need to get results like this very often this method is very time consuming.
Is there a formula available I can use with only 1 new column?
Selecting Data Over A Date Range
Sep 12, 2009I have 2 worksheets where I need to transfer a certain amount of data from one to another depending on dates.
Sheet ‘A’, is the main data source. Col A holds all 365 dates from 1 Jan to 31 Dec(starting at A2), and the subsequent data for each day is held in cols B to P.
Sheet ‘B’ is the destination where the user will specify a key date in cell A3, then in A4 to A32, formulae populate the next 29 dates (ie so there is a continuous run of 30 days).
What I need to do, is to identify the same 30 day range from sheet B on sheet A, then to copy the data in Cols B to P for that range back onto sheet B (pasting in at D3)

Jul 21, 2008I have an excel spreadsheet that has a list of pathways to different folders (ex. Q:TechnicalY001) in each row. I want a macro that will search each of the folders I list in a range of cells and return the most recent file by the Date in the filename:
Example: Cell A1 contains folder path Q:TechnicalY001
Cell A2 contains folder path Q:TechnicalY002
The macro would return the most recent file in Y001 and dump the filename into cell B1. Then it would return the most recent file in Y002 and dump the filename into B2.
After I have all of the most recent filenames, I want to be able to search each of those files for data in certain cells and then dump that data into the spreadsheet. The cells are always going to be the same in each file.

Oct 29, 2008I am doing a project for work at the moment where by I have to manipulate a report compiled by an external program and do various bits and bobs to it. Trouble is, the other program creates a new version every time it runs the report (i.e filename.1.xls, and the next day filename.2.xls, and so on). Is there any way of searching the folder these files are in to find the newest file and select that one as the one to open and manipulate? There will be no files other than these in the folder.

What I would like to do is to compile a report which only shows me when the latest particular type of survey (there are five types of survey, I'll call them 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5).

Jan 28, 2010I need to select the whole column ABOVE the active cell. Ctrl-Shift-UpArrow is no good because it stops at the first blank cell. And selecting the whole column is no good either because when I subsequently paste into the column, it pastes in all the empty cells of the column, meaning my worksheets expands from a few hundred rows to 1 million!
Shift-Home does what I want on rows. Is there an equivalent for columns?

Jul 3, 2008I wrote a Macro that select info from Worbook "A" to Workbook "B". In that Macro tha columns B:B, E:E and F:F are selected.
The problem is that the layout is not always the same so the correct columns keep shifting positions. The only thing that never changes is the "Column Label" in the first Row.
So, no matter from which column I alway have to copy: "Order Date"; "Status" and "MetofPay".
Is there anyway to tell my macro to look for those columns instead of B:B, E:E and F:F?
