View 5 RepliesI'm trying to change the color of a row if there is a date in column "N".
I want it to only color from column "A" to "N" of that row. I have a code but it colors the entire row instead of stopping at "N".
I am trying to change the color of piechart using the code below:
Code:
Sub ColorPieChart()
Dim i As Integer
Dim myCol(10) As Long
[Code].....
Basically, I want each series in my graph to have the colors formulated by myCol. The code above, however, only colors the graph with color given my myCol(1), so it seems as if something is wrong with my loop.
I a protected workbook I have the rows and columns indicated below. Each letter in the 2nd row is in a single cell. When completingthe entire form I want to be able to have the appropriate letter circled. I am not permitted to change this selection process to a drop down list - it must remain as formatted.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Danish Office 2007.
1) Let's say I have 3 columns (horisontal) and many rows (vertical. Each row goes together, as the first column can be text that describes a transaction. The second column will be the amount of money and the third can be something else.
I know how to sort these by whichever column I want to. But the problem is every cell needs to be the same size. And I have merged 3 cells in the first column and only merged 2 cells in the last two colums.
So Excel tells me I cannot merge unless each cell is the same size.
Is there a solution here? I need the 3 cells in the first column, so I have enough room to describe the transaction. And to avoid wasting space, I need to only have the other two columns be the size of two merged cells each.
Example, though with the text in another column:
Picture of it
2) The other problem is that I would like a cell to display the number in red if below zero, green if above zero. I cannot do this. I know where to put in the format codes, but I don't know what to write.
At the same time, I need the cell to show the currency in Danish Kroner. So I need a format code that does this. Someone told me this:
[Blue]dk #.##0;[Red]dk #.##0;[Green]*dk #.##0
But that doesn't work, nor if the color is in danish. What do I do?
How i can change the coulor of a cell when somebody clicks the cell using VBA? I need the cells to turn green.

Can use formula or use VBA. Can't seem to find a way using the Excel interface to do this.
I was wondering if it is possible to have multiple font colors in a single cell.
Such as:
ActiveCell.Value="Red & Blue"
Where the font for the word Red would be Red and Blue would be Blue.
I am looking to change to color of an entire row based on the value of a single column in that row....Say I have an issue on a line and the "priority column is set to high" I would like that entire row to turn red....

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a cell that has a formula in it like PREM + PRDCMP + ACQ + DLR in a spreadsheet that looks like this:
PREM PRDCMP ACQ DLR VIP COMM TOTAL
2 1 3 4 6 5
PREM + PRDCMP + ACQ + DLR 2 1 3 4 10
where PREM + PRDCMP + ACQ are colored red and + DLR is colored blue. This formula is entered in that particular cell as a text string. I have a formula in the PREM column that says if the word PREM is located in the formula to the left (and it is), then put the value that is located right under the PREM column (2) in the blank cell next to the formula. So, in the above example, I have an IF statement that sees that PREM is in the formula to the left and so underneath the PREM column, next to the formula, it would place the number 2. Now, I need Excel to detect if any word in the formula text string is colored blue and if it is, to put a zero in that column. So, in the formula above, if + DLR is the only text that is blue, I want to have Excel add 2 + 1 + 3 only. I want to have Excel take any string out that might be colored blue, such as + DLR and return the value of zero for it. The purpose of the different colors in the formula is to distinguish which information is relevant and which information should be ignored. So, I'd like Excel to read the above formula and say put the PREM amount in the cell under PREM, put the PRDCMP amount in the cell underneath PRDCMP, put the ACQ amount in a cell under ACQ and put zero in the DLR column since it is colored blue. If any of them (PREM, PRDCMP, ACQ, DLR, VIP or COMM) are colored blue, I want Excel to put a zero in that column.
When I type a single lower case letter into a cell, what formula or conditional formatting should I use to always convert it to a capital letter automatically?
View 9 Replies View RelatedFor the below formula is it possible to replace the B's (column location) with a cell Say Z146 which contains the letter B (or a number if thats easier and someone can tell me the numbers for each column).
When the formula is dragged into the next cell (down) it takes its column reference from Z147 and then my life becomes so much easier.
=IF(INDEX('Overs-Unders'!B:B,MATCH($C145,'Overs-Unders'!$A:$A,0))"",INDEX('Overs-Unders'!B:B,MATCH($C145,'Overs-Unders'!$A:$A,0)),"")
I need to change a few hundred cells (one column) where the first letter may be a capital letter to a lowercase letter.
So:
GetAwardfromBid to getAwardFromBid
or
SmallLertter to smallLetter
I had this question earlier and I dont know if it just isnt a regularly answered section so I though i would ask it here.....better yet I will just link to the other page so you can see whats up. Hopefully i will get a few more hits on it in this thread.

trying to do is when the input in a Cell becomes zero then I want that the cell becomes for example Red.
I'm not using macro's just formulas.
Is it possible to create UDF for Interior color of cell?
For instance, =Color(A1;3)
3 is the index of red color.
Is it possible to set a formula or something up so that if a row contains certain information, then the row will turn a certain color? For instance, if cell B2 contain the number "3" and cell B5 contains the number "5", then row B will turn yellow. Then if cell C2 contains the number "4" and cell C5 contains the number "7", row C will turn blue. This is just an example. In this example, I'd like a formula all the way down column's 2 and 5, but only the rows would change color (not columns) according to their information.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have got a Pivot table with makes and their sales in 2008 and 2009 like this
2008 2009
BMW 100 90
Audi 80 80
Mercedes 200 150
Fiat 80 120
Honda 100 110
Peugeot 70 120
(unfortunatley the formatting is deleted when posting).
I have created a stack column chart.
In that chart I want certain makes to have certain colors like BMW = blue, Audi = yellow, Mercedes = black, Fiat = green, Honda = red and Peugeot = purple
When I update the Pivot with a new month and a make changes position the colors go wrong.
I would like to create a script that fixes the makers to their colors, so that after an update I can just run the script and am done .
Unfortunately I do not really know how to work with VBA (I can just steal macros and modify them a bit to my needs or use the recorder).
I have an input in a cell, let's say: 8:50.
Is it possible to change the color of that cell in red if the text changes in
9:00 for example.
I need to coloring percentage values in excel 2000. What I would like to do is have percentages greater than zero shown in green, while negative values are red, and zero values are black. I currently have the custom formatting so negative values are red and all others are black, but I cant' seem to find a way to change it so greater than zero numbers are green and zeros are black. All I can do is chang positive and zero at the same time. Here is what I currently have:

View 5 Replies View RelatedWith a range of cells (a1:ao41) I want to color several cells depending on the value of that particular cell and another color when that particular and a corresponding cell have both the same value. It's some sort of sociogram The first row and column both contains names of students. Let say the students have to choose the three most populair ones to work with and the three most unpopulair ones. Positive ones get the color blue, negative ones get the color yellow. That's easy to do with conditional formatting. But now comes the tricky part. If for instance Student 3 chooses Student 7 and Student 7 chooses Student 3 the color of both cells have to be green if both positive and red if both negative. That's also do-able with conditional formatting, but it most be much easier to do with VBA. I just don't know how .
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have reviewed many a thread today looking up how to color in cells c11 through c20 without conditional formating.
if these cells have a time less than 01:00 then they turn green
if these cells have a time greater than 01:00 then they turn red
if the time is equal to 01:00 then they turn white.
I have this code that colors the lines in my Line Chart
Sub ColorLines()
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Set chrt = ActiveChart
'Here you want to put your own graph
vals = chrt.SeriesCollection(1).Values
'These are the values to determine later whether the line moves up or down. In this example, I just colored 1 seriescollection (= one line in your line graph), with an extra loop you'd do all lines.
It is very simple: When the lines goes up they turn black. When they go down they turn red.
The code work, but only if all cell in the series is filled. If one cells is blank the code error. I'm using #NA() in all cells that are blank, so the chart skip that cell and continue from the next cell's value.
i hav sheet containing list of employee number, think it is a labour camp, each room have four labours, each have a unique code. I made sketch in excel and enter all labour number in each cell, border them look look like a room, i have 120 rooms like that.
Now the problem :D, i hae different national labors
I have seperate list having their national according to their employee code.
Now i wanna color thier cell according to their national
I am searching a code and formula for last 45 days...
I am wondering if it is possible to use the Conditional formatting to color a row when a specific cell has a value ( Number or text etc..)
I have values in cells A1,B1 & C1
If I enter a value in D1 , I would like to have A1,B1,C1 & D1 colored green
Is it possible to define a rule for this?
I had an report and the rows of the report needs to be colored based on another cell value. My layout looks like this:
A1B1C1D1AVG
1011121330
14151617100
18192021400
For each cell, i need to compare the value of cell with that value in AVG coloumn and if condition is met, cell should be colored. Eg : If first cell value under A1 is Less than 0.2 * AVG of first row then color of the cell A2 should be red. After coloring the entire rows, then i should check and color the header row based on the color of Rows.
I tried first one, i,e coloring the rows based on conditional formatting and then written VB code to compare the color of rows and colored the header row. But the color index used in conditional formatting and the code are mismatching and the desired output is not coming. So decided to write code for coloring the rows cell.
I'm new here and not really that familiar with excel functions and programming so please forgive me if this is not the right place for my thread
I am wondering how (if possible) I can make this little scenario work:
Lets say I have
cell (A1) with the value 2
cell (B1) with the value 3
Now somewhere else I wish to color some cell to create a 2 by 3 "block".
So coloring 2 cells horizontically (the value of (A1) and 3 cells Vertically (value of (B1)
I am been trying to do a drop down only with coloring in Excel 2007, need not want any text to be the drop down list instead need a color specific drop down list, so that i could type a free text in drop down, which would enable to identify the content through coloring.
