Nov 26, 2013I've managed to figure out how to normalize my data and create several bell curves. However, these charts do not display the mean, std deviation, or confidence intervals. Any way to add these into my charts?

Background Info: I am doing a weibull analysis on failure data. Some of the data is right censored. I have already run a maximum likelihood estimate to obtain the estimated weibull parameters with Excel's SOLVER function. I am good on this part.
Now I want to calculate these parameters with a 95% confidence interval. I can't seem to find information on calculating confidence intervals with right censored data.
Multiple Solver Constraints In Solver
Sep 10, 2006I have a cell, D5, which is the sum of three other cells, A5 B5 and C5. (all currently empty). Cells A1 through C4 are filled with various numbers.
What I've been trying to do is use solver to say: Make D5 equal 200, do it by manipulating only A5 B5 and C5, and make it subject to the constraint that A5 must equal a value selected from A1:A4, and B5 must equal a value from B1:B4, and C5 ...etc. I have deliberately set it up so that there is only one solution.
I was doing fine until trying to create the constraints. How can I make a constraint that says "this cell" must equal "one of the following cells"? And if I can't do that, is there an alternate method of achieving the same result?
Solver Solver To Calculate Through VBA
Jan 12, 2007I have to use use the solver to calculate something (a mean-variance framework).
I am using the solver to minimize a cartain cell (variance) by making two cells equal through (expected return) by varying 10 cells( weights of assets), but I have to repeat this for 500+ times (for different expected returns).
Someone told me that I could best use some sort of loop through VBA. But I don't have a clue how that works.
Solver- When Solver "changes Cells"
Jan 21, 2009I want to use solver program. But when solver "changes cells" i want it to trigger my pivot tables in the workbook. So i added the code to my worksheet:

So when a change occurs, all my pivot tables will get refreshed and my data will change. Is solver able to trigger this event while solving an optimization problem?

Getting Date At Specified Intervals?
Feb 12, 2013My sheet consists of the following Data in the table ( to be increased to 99 rows or events )
I need to find the Next Date Occurence till the End_date
Next_Date1 = Start_date + Interval
Next_Date2 = Next_date1 + Interval
and so on till Next_Datexx is greater than End_date
I need a VBA code to fill the adjacent columns ie Next_date1 to Next_Date99 ( till the end_date), only if the Status is "DONE". If the Status is blank then the relevant colums must not fill.
I can do it with formulas, but need the VBA code.
Also the number of rows can be increased to 99 rows

Histogram: Intervals Below Bar
Oct 5, 2006I'm trying to make a histogram with the data analysis tool. The problem is that whenever I make a chart it doesnt show my intervals correctly. It puts them under the bars instead of between them.

Oct 6, 2006I'm making use of a histogram to visualize my data. The only problem is that 90% of the data has a value which lies close to eachother but 10% is very different.
For example:
Interval-----Frequency
0-10------5
10-20-----7

70-80-----0
80-90-----0
90-100----0

Now the histogram I will obtain won't look very good. Is there a way I can have an interval like 40 - ... which resembles everything above 40?
Sum Times During Multiple Intervals?
Mar 18, 2014I'm trying to determine how much time our agents are spending for their lunch/breaks during 30 minute intervals. Range A8:A200 lists the agent's names, Range B8:B200 lists their lunch/break start times, Range C8:C200 lists their lunch/break end times, and Column E lists the times (8:00, 8:30, 9:00, etc.). If an agent starts their break at 10:57 (Column B) and ends at 11:10 (Column C), the value next to 10:30 (Column E) would have 0:03:00 and the value next to 11:00 would have 0:10:00. But would need to sum all the agents which took a break/lunch between 10:30-11:00, and 11:00-11:30.

Sum Data For Time Intervals
Oct 10, 2009I am trying to do is calculate (sum) results data for time intervals. For example, between 0500-0559hrs then 0600-0659hrs and so on. Data is collected at 1 minute intervals and may have a result of 0 or anywhere up to 30.
Column A has all time data e.g. 0500,0501,0502 etc
Column B has sum of instances e.g. 0,1,2,3 etc

Run Solver With VBA
Feb 14, 2008I am trying to drive Solver in Excel 2000 with a Visual Basic (version given as 9969) macro. SolverReset is observed, and SolverAdd puts the constraints in. But the SolverOK statement does nothing, so the SetCell and the ByChange windows stay empty.
SolverSolve is trying to do something, because the spreadsheet cell that should receive the return code from Solver gets an error value #VALUE! (The macro then stops, unable to process this entry.)
Solver is checked off ok in the References list in V.Basic.
The same macro, same spreadsheet, in the same Excel file, works fine on the other computer in my office with what I am told is a more recent version of Excel; i.e. this doesn't look like a coding error.

May 12, 2009I have been given the task of finding out who logs in at what time of the day.
I have attached the raw data that I have to work with.
In essence I need to see how many login's there were for 06.00 - 10.00 at 15 minute intervals e.g:
06:00 - 5 Logins
06:15 - 1 Logins
06:30 - 3 Logins
06:45 - 11 Logins
etc

Sorting Data To 15 Minute Intervals?
Jan 11, 2014In the attached excel file I'd like to use data that was polled every 15 minutes. i.e 00:15, 00:30, 00:45, etc. Can I do this without having to manually delete all the nonrequired data per each row?
Also I have many files of such data that and would like to combine the all them into one to represent data for the whole year polled at every 15 minutes.
