I have a sheet where users enter a date and other details on each row.
The number of rows where data is entered can be upto 20 at any one time.
I wish to allow users to drag the cell date down for the number of rows they wish, without the date incrementing.
I have created below vba code but don't understand how to stop the auto incrementing.

Week 5+6

Week 5+8
Week 5+9
Week 5+10
Week 5+11
And what I want is that it shows in all the lines “week 5+6”
Strange enough when I only enter a number like 5 it doesn’t auto increment.
And if I add a dot behind the 6 then either.
But I just want it AutoFill that what I have inserted in the box!
How can I stop drag and drop across a row but you can drag and drop down a column.
Is there some easy way to fill out column B referencing column A, but only incrementing by 1 row in A every 2 cells in B?
Example:
Column A:
A1 = 1
A2 = 2
A3 = 3
etc...
Column B (I would like to fill this, referencing column A):
B1 = A1
B2 empty
B3 = A2
B4 empty
B5 = A3
etc
I am not able to drag & fill series only in one particular sheet, in other sheets this function is working fine.

the function I'm referring to is when you have a value in a cell and you hover your mouse cursor over the edge and get the black cross with arrows on all corners. Once you drag the cell into another location, it copies the the data into the other cell.
I need a way to stop this from happening, because this causes reference errors on other sheets when users do this by accident. However, I still need to allow the user to be able to type in that cell, use the autofill option, and the Ctrl+C option. Is there a way to program a macro that can be put in the sheets to do this for specified cells or ranges?
I have the following formulae in seperate cells were A1, A2 and A3 are the cells
A1 =MAX(Data!C2:C3)
A2 =MAX(Data!C4:C5)
A3 =MAX(Data!C6:C7)
I would like to drag the cells so that automatically the cells below A3 are updated as follows
A4 =MAX(Data!C8:C9)
A5 =MAX(Data!C10:C11)
etc up to 600 rows
Unfortunately it is not being updated in that order. Do you have any suggestions how it can be done.
I've created a macro to disable cut-copy-paste and drag-and-drop (below), but when the user exits Excel, the drag-and-drop option remains turned off.
The user has to click on the Office button, go to Excel Options, Advanced tab, and re-enable the fill handle manually. How can I have my macro do this automatically when the workbook is closed?

Im trying to create a catalogue for our complaints that come in each day at work. Ive created a basic layout I like, it uses 3 cells for a week day and 1 cell for a weekend day. The date is listed on the side of each day. I would now like to be able to quickly use this format for the rest of the month/year but need a way to do this easily as I cant do each day separately in the future. Ive tried selecting cells and then dragging down but all it does is repeat the previous 7 days and the same dates instead of incrementing the date.

I am currently working on a button which does the following:
User wants to create a new sheet
Clicks button
Input box prompts user to enter sheet name
User enters the sheet name
The sheet is created and copies over formats and values from another sheet
I then want the user to also enter a date.
The date must then be places (always in "C2") then each second column after that the date entered + one day.
E.g. C2 = 01/08/2008 then C4 will have 02/08/2008
I want this entered for the whole month.

how to make my network days stop counting when I insert a value in the completed column (in this case H3). I have a Date Received column (A3), a due day column (G3) and the last column with the date (N3). My remaining days column keeps counting after I filled the completed cell (H3) and won't stop counting after. I need a formula to stop after the completed cell is fill up.
I have a excel sheet of data numbers which blongs a packet of inventory where i found number series like this:

I have to draw this onto a series like 2101200 then 2101201 then 2010202 etc.
but some time these numbers are in qty 30000 or more. I have questions
1- If any macro colud fill series suppose if write number in A2 and qty in B2 so it reads the qty of b2 and fill the series in A. If i write 1 in A2 and write 50 in B2 so the series should be auto fill 1 to 50.
My Second question is opposit of my above question.
2- if i have different number series in column a and i want them to be as start number in column b and end number in column c and qty in column d based like mentioned below example.

Any way to have the date auto increase 7 days when we drag/copy down the cells. For example, I have the following:
03/31/13
04/07/13
04/14/13
So, when I copy down (let say hundred cells down), the day should show 7 days apart. Is there a formula?
Need formula for populate a cell with a date. I have a workbook with 5 sheets (mon, tues, wed, thur, fri) and I'd like to type a date on mondays sheet so all the other sheets follow on the date ie:
Noverber 1st 2008 is typed into sheet 1: A1, sheet 2 automatically displays November 2nd 2008, sheet 3 displays November 3rd, etc..
I know it's basic progression, but I'm not sure how to do it with date/text...
I am having trouble with the following situation:
on the sheet PANEL in cell A2 I want to reference the information on sheet 480 in cell B5.
Then on sheet PANEL in cell A3 I want to reference the information on sheet 480 in cell B54.
'PANEL'A2 needs to equal '480'B5
'PANEL'A3 needs to equal '480'B54
And so on...
I need the reference to skip 49 cells each time so that I can just copy the formula on down the column.
Is there a way to count how many times a value is changed?
Cell A1 can be either YES or NO. Its' value is controlled by validation
When Cell A1 is changed from YES to NO I want to increment the value in B1 by one.
When Cell A1 is changed from NO to YES I want to leave B1 as it is.
Here is what I have at present:
At the beginning of a loop, my cursor is positioned on a row. I want to test two cells on that row.
Depending upon the result of the two cells, I want to make the row a certain color.
After that, I then want to move down to the next row, test the same two cells in THAT row, color accordingly and loop again until I reach the bottom of the spreadsheet.
My problem is this:
If I can use a loop that lists various conditions, along with the corresponding statements that color the row accordingly, how can I when finished increment the cell references so that the conditions change to refer to the cells the next row down?
If a loop is not possible, any suggestions you have for solving this problem would be appreciated. I have about 200 rows so am trying to condense my code; this may be hampering my ability to figure out the solution.

I would like cell D2 (on Sheet1) to default to the value of "EACH", unless the value is found on Sheet2 (column C). If it is found on Sheet2, then I want it to match the unit beside the respective upc code (see Col Q on Sheet1, and Col A on Sheet2) . Then I would like to be able to drag down cell D2 and all cells on Sheet2 would match and any that do not match, would be filled with "Each". Desired results are shown in attached example file.

I have 12 rows of data that will repeat itself every 12 weeks. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an inventory sheet where I occassionally have to create more rows with the same information. So I will create rows and then copy and paste info into them. What I would like to do is be able to drag the information by clicking on the lower left corner and populate the cells that way. The problem is that if there is a number in the cell then it will automatically add to it. For instance, if I try to drag the contents of cell labeled klaraid 1112 then it will add incrementally to this in the cells below.....1113, 1114 and so on. If there are no numbers in the thing i'm dragging then it works fine. How do I drag cells with numbers without it adding to the contents incrementally?

i.e. drag activecell to activecell.offset(1,-1)
In my worksheet i have pairs of data from A2:A18. cell A2 is paired with A3, cell A5 to A6.
In cell C2, I have the formula =IF(A2>A3,A2,A3). then in C3 I have =IF(A5>A6,A5,A6).
I would then like to be able to drag these formulas down to C7 and take the appropriate data.
So another example, cell C4 should be =IF(A8>A9,A8,A9).
I have seen many formulas for how to drag skipping a row, but couldn't find anything on pairs of data while skipping a row as well.

What do you think? I think it can be done but do not want to waste time going about it the wrong way. Please give me any ideas on how you would approach this problem.

I can determine if I want to insert down or up. I am not concerned with shifting left or right at this point.
I can also determine the original address and destination address of the drag and drop operation by using the change event.
The ranges being dragged will be limited to a single cell.
