I have 365 days of data that I need to sum by specific weekday. I need to Sum every fisrt Sundays of each month for the year, then each mondays, Tuesdays, etc. I looked all over the forum and was not able to find a thread. Is ithat possible to do?

... in A2 a month, formatting as "MMM" (JAN, FEB, MAR etc.)
How to automatically get in column A (say from A3) all the dates of the month entered, formatting as "D/M/YYYY" (e.g. 1/1/2012, 2/1/2012/ 3/1/2012, etc.)?
So, this works perfectly by itself: {= SUM(IF(MONTH(I4:I17)=1,G4:G17,0))}
And this works perfectly by itself: {=SUM(IF(YEAR(I4:I17)=2007,G4:G17,0))}
But this doesn't work at all: {=SUM(IF(AND(MONTH(I4:I17)=1,YEAR(I4:I17)=2007),G4:G17,0))}
SUM by both a specific month, and a specific year from a single date field?
i thought i had something sorted out for this yesterday, but coming back to it today it hasn't worked at all.
i've created a spreadsheet with records of what jobs my heavy plant repair company has opened, which contains such data as when the job was if and when the job was closed and the value of the job when it was closed.
now i have to create a summary sheet that totals the values of the closed jobs in a given month. i've included an mock up of the database in question, but i just can't seem to get it to work.
This may be a two part question, I finally was able to build a calender contol to insert dates into a active cell, now what i am trying to do is be able to restrict the usage of certain dates. For instance, dates prior to the current date cannot be chosen, nor dates that fall on 29th, 30th and month depending the 31st. Is this possible? Its is being used to calculate amounts for certain days, for example the calender object places a date in Cell A1, which falls between 1st-28th, another column also has a date option, the date to be chosen cannot be before todays date, and cannot be after the 28th of any given month. Is there a way to restrict in the calender or would a if statement apply? OR would a more simple approach to use data validation? where as (A1=MM, B1=DD, C1=YY) so that D1=A1/B1/C1 ie. 07/22/09, so that when using D1 it would be a date format. which would be the start date and E1,F1,G1 for a new date, then use conditional formatting to restrict or prevent choosing dates before TODAY() for the second date colums, I know a message could be displayed for it if it is less then/prior to the current date, or should i have the data validation adjust (if at all possible)for the first set of date options?

How can I find the average of second column of january months only? I tried countif, sumif and many others, but cannot find the solution.
I would like to Column E to VLOOKUP the prices in Column B that correspond to the year and month (January in this case) in Column D. I tried to do a VLOOKUP(DATE...) but just couldn't get it....

Column 1: Date (from 11/10/1996 - 31/12/2000)
Column 2 and onwards: Price (in numeric form, in which there are N/A records entered as text)
What I want to do is using VBA codes to find out how many "N/A" records appear in each month, and if there is more than 10 "N/A" records in a month, I would discard the months' record (set the records be -99).
I have a worksheet called Money & Budgets containing accounting data. In a new worksheet in the same workbook I have created a drop down box with month's of the year in it. I have selected March (the first month in my accounting financial year)
I have created the following formula and copied it down and it collects March's data just fine
=VLOOKUP('Money & Budgets'!D95,'Money & Budgets'!$D$95:$R$138,3,FALSE)
What I want to do now though is to change the drop down list to April, for example, and have my VLOOKUP formula automatically get the data from column 4 of my Money & Budgets worksheet rather than from column 3. I have been trying to do this for hours, days and nights and I am not getting anywhere
See attached spreadsheet. I have a set of Jobs with a set of end dates. A meeting date should be held after the end of each job. I need a formula or macro to determine when the meeting date will be held? The criteria to determine the meeting date is found in rows 12-18. The end dates are set on different days of the weeks and different weeks of the month depending on the region that the job is located in. The meeting dates will be input in colums d, f, h & j.

What formula I should use for this condition:
A (Contains many months, e.g. 3 November, 2 December, 10 January, etc. -- in excel date standard format mm/dd/yy)
B (Contains Paid, On process & Waiting for Invoice -- using IF formula)

What formula i should use?

I have shipments that are going to different destinations (rotterdam, austria, london, etc.)
I would like to count the arrival dates in column H that fall under each week's span, but ONLY IF its corresponding value in column F is 'rotterdam'.
Column C contains the ideal numbers that I would like column B's formula to return. I plan on doing this for the entire year, but if someone can some up with a formula, I might be able to modify it for the rest.
Note: This is only an example spreadsheet, I am going to be referencing an external file with much more information on it.
Is there any way to select specify month of the many years of data with any function?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAt the end of each month, my agency collects data about clients served in our programs. One of the many pieces of information they want is the number of "bed days" a client was residing within our programs for the given month.
For example:
Jon Doe entered the program on 7/16/13 and discharged on 8/15/13. I would like to know how to calculate the number of days in July that Mr. Doe was residing in the program. (The date of discharge is not included.)
I recently took over the responsibility of completing reports such as this one at my office. The previous person who completed the monthly reports would count the days by hand for each client, but I know there must be a better way.
I'm having difficulty creating an array formula. In a multi-column sheet, I am looking at a column with classes and a column with a date (in the format 7-Oct-09). I need to list the number of a specific class for a particular month (any day). I have tried the following which gives only the number of classes:
=COUNTIF(A4:A2500,"AA")+COUNTIF(H4:H2500,"10/??/09") and
=SUM((A4:A2500="AA")*(H4:H2500="??-Oct-??")) which gives me 0. Maybe an array formula is not the way to do this.
I am trying to create a graph that is conditional on two different columns. The first column is a date column, the second column has various categories. I want to show how many times each category appears per month. This database is continually added to so I wanted the formula to reflect the entire column range.
For example, let say I have 5 categories (Grapes, Apples, Peach, Pear, Banana). Column A would show a date (in a M/D/Y format) and Column B would list the fruit type. I want to show how many Grapes were input in January, February, March, etc. and then move on to show how many apples in each month, and so on.
My macro's function is to paste the workdays of an entire month in a specific row of a worksheet. Everything seems to work except using a number to reference the column in which to store the values. I've searched the web for over an hour and found two "solutions":
1. write a function to convert column number to a letter
2. utilize Cells object
#2 seemed more efficient but the function is giving me the error: "Runtime Error: '1004': Method of 'Range' of object "_Worksheet' Failed"
I have a large excel file with the top seven rows such as you see in the attached file. In row five there is a bunch of info before the month and the year. What I want to do is get rid of that info besides the month and year. I than want to sort each column by the month and year so that all the columns are in sequential order.

I m trying to write a formula for my financial model. If anyone can take a stab at a solution. I'm trying to write a formula that will equally distribute revenue either over the next 1 month, 2 month or 3 month period depending on size of the deal.
Details:
Sales will fit in 1 of 3 categories. Less than 25k; between 25k & 100k; greater than 100k.
- if under $25K, recognize in next month (month N+ 1)
- $25K-100K, recognize in two equal parts in months N + 1 and N + 2
- over $100K, recognize in three equal parts over 3 months
N + 1, N + 2, N + 3 ...
I'm needing a formula that will determine the number of days that fall in a specific month based on a date range. For example, if I have a date range of 10/15/2009 to 01/13/2009, I need the formula to determine the number of days in each month within the range (October has 15 days in the date range; November has 30, December has 31, and January has 13.) I have a large spreadsheet that would be so much easier to manage with such a formula. Currently, my spreadsheet is setup as follows. I need the forumla automatically fill in the number of days under each month.

Sometimes there are all 30 /31 days but normally not .
I need to find the last ocurance of the last date used for each month and then use the cell number to calculate the column totals for that month.
Need to create year to date sales comparing 4 years month by month. Stacked chart (Excel 2010) works OK for the first three months but adding the fourth month changes the chart to 4 series with a monthly axis. To put it another way I need a vertical axis of years and a horizontal axis of $$$ with each months sales of each year stacked on its year.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have created a time sheet in excel (see attached) that will be part of the larger workbook that will be linked with other sheets to auto fill in most fields. I am wondering if there is a way for an user to enter a Month and a Year at the top of the page and that in turn automatically fills in the days of the month by week.
So in attached sheet there are 5 boxes representing 5 weeks in a month. So if we used May 2014 as an example I would like to know if there is a way that once May 2014 is entered in up to top that. Excel fills in the dates in Week #1 with under Thursday showing 1st, under Friday showing 2nd as on for the entire month...
So as the month go by all user has to do is state the month and year and excel fills in the weekly dates for each day in month.

I am working in a spreadsheet that contains a bunch of data, it is not limited, and varies. It has some fiels such as: name, date of birth, address, and others. I am interested in creating a column with only the month digit of the date of birth for each row.
I have been working with some code, I am not quite sure how to continue. The following table would be a example that I have of the data, it has only to entry in the column of Date of Birth, but my data range will always vary. I want to get the month and past it in the next cell that is available in this case would be column c or 3... The worksheet name is REP.

Say the report is for January - if there are invoices on Tab 3 -worksheet with a January date I want to post all invoice amounts on Summary worksheet under current payment.

I have log data in two columns:
Column A: Date/time (at 30 minute intervals)
Column B: Numeric data
On the last row of each month, I’m trying to perform a SumProduct on the two columns and display that result in column C.
The end of the range is determined by the month in the current row.
I’m having difficulty finding the beginning of the range, though. I need to account for both the normal dynamic calendar days & the fact that I may get data starting mid-day and mid-month.
I have this formula, but I’m not sure how to make the first array dynamic or if this is even correct approach.
