Create Year To Date Sales Comparing 4 Years Month By Month?
Dec 25, 2013Need to create year to date sales comparing 4 years month by month. Stacked chart (Excel 2010) works OK for the first three months but adding the fourth month changes the chart to 4 series with a monthly axis. To put it another way I need a vertical axis of years and a horizontal axis of $$$ with each months sales of each year stacked on its year.

Comparing The Same Month Sales Between Two Different Years?
Jun 6, 2014I am trying to create a function where the user can type in a single month, and 2 different years, and it will calculate/compare that single month from the 2 different years entered.
For Example: I type in January, and I type in 2014 and 2013. The excel formula will spit out whether January 2014 is over/under January 2013.

Aug 9, 2006I am trying to write a code that runs on a worksheet/workbook activation that will copy data from one sheet to another based on which month it currently is. I can easily do this with a Command Button. Here is an example of what I'm looking to copy from sheet to sheet.

I will be pasting to the same location each month but I will be copying from another range of cells as my targets change every month. This is where my autoupdate idea is coming in. I hoped that for example this month is August so it would automatically paste over Augusts Data and when September came around it would automatically update to the new data set.
Averaging Values For 1st And Last Two Days Of Each Month Over Span Of 100 Years
Jan 14, 2014I've got daily water level data that spans around one hundred years. I am looking for monthly average water level data, but rather than using the whole month, I'd like to average the first two days and the last two days. I want to have a single value for each month in the 100 years of data.
If the data was smaller I could do this by hand, however having 100 years worth of data = 1200 months = so many days...
It's tough since months don't have a set number of days, and then leap years and it all gets so complicated. I've never really had a problem where date was a criteria to pull values from, and I don't know how to work with this. The internet suggest the Averageif function which I have dabbled with, but no dice.
VLOOKUP Get Specific Month's Data
Jun 6, 2006I have a worksheet called Money & Budgets containing accounting data. In a new worksheet in the same workbook I have created a drop down box with month's of the year in it. I have selected March (the first month in my accounting financial year)
I have created the following formula and copied it down and it collects March's data just fine
=VLOOKUP('Money & Budgets'!D95,'Money & Budgets'!$D$95:$R$138,3,FALSE)
What I want to do now though is to change the drop down list to April, for example, and have my VLOOKUP formula automatically get the data from column 4 of my Money & Budgets worksheet rather than from column 3. I have been trying to do this for hours, days and nights and I am not getting anywhere
Summing Values For Specific Months And Years?

I would like a sumifs formula that will only add the results for Apple - as follows:
Nov 2012 5
Dec 2012 3
Jan 2013 6 (i.e. does not include Banana - and also does not include Jan 14 Apple)
Although I have experience with sumifs I have not been able to use the correct syntax to identify the month AND year.
Ultimately I want to look through many hundreds of dates, and add anything that fits two criteria - 1) a 'name' criteria, and 2) it falls within a certainly month and year.

Apr 4, 2013I am working in a spreadsheet that contains a bunch of data, it is not limited, and varies. It has some fiels such as: name, date of birth, address, and others. I am interested in creating a column with only the month digit of the date of birth for each row.
I have been working with some code, I am not quite sure how to continue. The following table would be a example that I have of the data, it has only to entry in the column of Date of Birth, but my data range will always vary. I want to get the month and past it in the next cell that is available in this case would be column c or 3... The worksheet name is REP.
