Count How Many Times A Given Date Falls Between Date Pairs
Aug 3, 2009I'm trying to use countif or similar to show how many times a given date is between 2 dates (inclusive). Each row of the spreadsheet contains amongst other info, a Start Date and an End Date. If i've got 2 rows like this:
StartDate EndDate
01/01/2009 03/01/2009
02/01/2009 04/01/2009
I'd want to lookup 02/01/2009 and have it return 2 (02/01/09 falls between the dates on row 1 and the dates on row 2). To give some context, this is an export from a database containing staff holiday dates, and I'd like to be able to see how many people will be on holiday on any given date, given the start and end date of all holiday occurances throughout the year.

And this works perfectly by itself: {=SUM(IF(YEAR(I4:I17)=2007,G4:G17,0))}
But this doesn't work at all: {=SUM(IF(AND(MONTH(I4:I17)=1,YEAR(I4:I17)=2007),G4:G17,0))}
SUM by both a specific month, and a specific year from a single date field?

Apr 9, 2008See attached spreadsheet. I have a set of Jobs with a set of end dates. A meeting date should be held after the end of each job. I need a formula or macro to determine when the meeting date will be held? The criteria to determine the meeting date is found in rows 12-18. The end dates are set on different days of the weeks and different weeks of the month depending on the region that the job is located in. The meeting dates will be input in colums d, f, h & j.

Jul 31, 2009I'm needing a formula that will determine the number of days that fall in a specific month based on a date range. For example, if I have a date range of 10/15/2009 to 01/13/2009, I need the formula to determine the number of days in each month within the range (October has 15 days in the date range; November has 30, December has 31, and January has 13.) I have a large spreadsheet that would be so much easier to manage with such a formula. Currently, my spreadsheet is setup as follows. I need the forumla automatically fill in the number of days under each month.

I want to be able to create a rule that will highlight all the cells in a row if the date range on that row fall includes today's date. if someone is traveling in the event there is an emergency and I need to know if they are traveling that particular day. In column B3:B367, I have dates for every day of the year. In column D3:D367, I have body weight for every day of the year. This gets filled in on a daily basis.
What I'm looking to do:
1. Find the first daily weight for the month.
2. Find today's weight.
3. See if today's weight falls within the specified month.
4. Compare the first daily weight of the month with today's weight.
I am able to accomplish #1 with LOOKUP, #2 with LOOKUP, and #4 with IF/THEN. For the life of me, I cannot comprehend how to do #3.

And it just works for the first 2 values c1, c2 and doesn't fit for the others.
The case is i have more than one event at the same video and i need to confirm that no event was taken unless it is between start and end.

Aug 14, 2012I have a input box that prompts a user to enter a date of a new month - it has to be the 1st of a new month. I have validation that it is a date that has been entered but then i want to validate the date entered is a month ahead of a date in a cell range on a sheet.
It is a monthly reset so it has to roll on from the previous month.

I want to calculate Average Index Values of a Date of each month within a Date Range.
Example: Calculate Average Index Values for 3rd of Each month from 1st Feb 2010 to 3rd Jan 2011. Formula should calculate Average of the Index Values for 3rd Feb 2010, 3rd March 2010, 3rd April 2010, 3rd May 2010, 3rd June 2010, 3rd July 2010, 3rd Aug 2010, 3rd Sept 2010, 3rd Oct 2010, 3rd Nov 2010, 3rd Dec 2010, 3rd Jan 2011.
Both the Date and the Date Range is variable. Also, the Index Value for selected Date of one or more month may not be available as that being a holiday. In that case, the formula needs to use the last available Index Value before that Date. e.g. If Index Value for 3rd Oct 2010 is not available, system will use the Index Value of 2nd Oct 2010.

Jun 2, 2006I need an IF formula, that states if a date is more than a month after the date in the cell then it is timely and if it isn't then it is not timely. For example the date in A1 is 12/11/05, if the cell is A2 is 13/12/05 (or any date after that) then A3 should read Not Timely, if A2 is 12/12/05 (or any date before that, including a date before the date in A1) then A3 should read Timely. Is there any way to do this?? At the moment I am having to go through manually and put in either Timely or Not Timely.

Weekday/workday Date 1 Month After The Last Contact Date
Sep 20, 2009I have a list of clients that have specific requests waiting to be actioned, with a number of columns relating to client details and the status of the request across the top of the sheet. One of the columns (D) is "Last Contact Date", where I enter in the date that I last followed up with the client or made contact regarding their request. In the next column (E), I want the weekday/workday date 1 month after the Last Contact Date.
I can use "=D2+DAY(30)" to give me the date 30 days later, or "=DATE(YEAR(D2),MONTH(D2)+1,DAY(D2))" to get one month later, however what I want is the nearest WORKDAY after this date.
So, if the date is on a weekend, I need the Monday date instead.

Oct 25, 2006I have a spreadsheet which I use to track when a work request is recieved, when we confirm the request and when we action the request. I have been trying to write some code to count the amount of requests, receipts and actions we have processed in the last month.
My first column shows who the request is from
The second shows date recieved
The third shows date we send receipt
The fourth shows the date actioned.

Is there a way through a formula or macro that I can use in order to run through all the dates in this column to make sure that the next cell down is always the month after the cell above it? The dates go all the way through to 2018 in the above format.
