Transpose Duplicate Rows Into Columns Including Blank Cells
Mar 6, 2014
I found this great macro to use in a spreadsheet I'm trying to transpose from rows to columns, however, I need a place holder for blank cells: [URL] .....
I was able to use the macro in the last post by Ochenden but the blank cells need to have a placeholder.
How to change the macro or come up with a different script for me to use?
Attached is how I need the spreadsheet to look.
Script I used:
Sub aaa()
Dim OutSH As Worksheet
Set OutSH = Sheets("Sheet2")
But I dont want it to count the cells if the entire row, within that cell, i.e. C6:AD6, is blank.
It should only count the blank cells within a row if there has been some data entered on that row..provided it has been entered within the specified range.
I have many rows that contain some common data but I need to be able to select the row with the most recent data and delete the others. For example, a car part is assigned a unique number which never changes, it may be ordered several times and in different quantities, for each car part I want to select the most recent order and delete any others. Is there a simple way of doing this?
I have a large worksheet with over 8,000 rows and about 5 columns. In several instances, I have several rows that are all exactly the same. It could be 2, 3, 4 or even more rows that are duplicate to one another.
I would like a macro that deletes ALL rows that are duplicates, including the original.
For example, let's say, rows 3, 4 & 5 are all exactly the same, I don't want to just delete rows 4 & 5, I want to delete row 3 as well!
I want to create a 'capture all' formula that adds up cells in a column This column may contain blank cells in one column but when copied to another column, the same row may contain a value.
example I want the sum of A5 + A8 + A10 + A22 but in column A cell A5 may be blank and so may A22 but when the formula is copied to column B all the cells may contain a value
When I try to do it I receive a Value# error for columns containing blank cells I don't want to do a separate formula for each column
I am looking for some code that will use A,B,C as filters to find duplicate cells, and if duplicate found, there should be deleted the duplicated row (but not only the row from a,b,c column, but the whole 8 cells from that row - A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H).
As filter I would like to be used A,B,C columns.
EXAMPLE: BEFORE A B C D E F G H Kristijan Markovski 26,2,1992 1389 Prilep Prilep Mice Kozar1 1 Kristijan Markovski 26,2,1992 1389 Prilep Prilep Mice Kozar01 1 Kristijan Markovski 26,2,1992 1389 Prilep Prilep Mice Kozar001 1 Bojan Smileski 5,2,1992 1356 Prilep Prilep Borka Taleski 1
AFTER A B C D E F G H Kristijan Markovski 26,2,1992 1389 Prilep Prilep Mice Kozar1 1
Bojan Smileski 5,2,1992 1356 Prilep Prilep Borka Taleski 1
My Excel program (Excel 2010) currently has several columns and each column looks for and pulls data from a specific file on my computer. Then I need to delete any duplicate data entries, count the number of unique entries and track the changes through a chart. I have everything done except I cannot figure out (or find on the internet) a way to search in multiple columns (more than 2) and delete just the duplicate cells. I want to delete the cells in a way where there is one left. For example if the code 12gf is duplicated three time, I want to be left with one 12gf (it doesnt matter what column the original one is left in). Additionally, column length changes and they are not sorted. I have attempted to attach an image of an example file below.
I'm migrating data from Financisto for Android to CashTrails for iOS, and I need to format my CSV file a specific way for conversion to a CashTrails file.
I'd like to do the following in Excel 2013 (I have access to other versions if I need to):
1. Highlight a range of cells (i.e. A1-H20)
2. Apply following action: IF cell has data, add " to beginning of cell and " to end of cell, AND IF cell has no data, place "" in cell.
This can be done, right? I'm desperate!
It would look like this in Notepad. Before: Date,Time,Amount,Category,Tags,Account 12/31/13,12:00 PM,$3.99,General,,Checking 12/31/13,12:30 PM,$5.00,Shopping,gift,Cash
I work with a spreadsheet every week to input values and subtotal them. These values change constantly and instead of going through and manually deleting each row in a 100+ row spreadsheet to be able to import into another program, I'm looking for an quicker way to keep my data in order but consolidate by getting rid of only the rows where both column A and B are blank.
Here's an example of what I'm working with:
5 10 15 20 50 2 4 6 8 20
This is what I need the final product to look like:
5 10 15 20 50 2 4 6 8 20
So I would like to quickly delete rows 2, 5, and 11. All of the other answers I've found only show how to delete rows based on empty cells in only 1 column. How can I quickly delete the rows where both columns are empty?
Need Macro (code) to copy specific cells from a sheet into a new sheet in a desired format. I have an excel file which has data set in 20 rows. Each row has multiple fields. At the end of each data set there is a blank row. I want to capture specific data fields for each data set (e.g. Name, Bank no. etc) and put it into the respective heading. This process needs to be repeated for all the data sets.
A sample sheet is attached for better explanation. Sheet 1 has the raw data and sheet 2 has the required output. The no. of data sets shows in sheet 1 is just a sample. In actual it would be a large no. of such data sets.
Average formula that will give an accurate answer. My issue is that I need an average of what has been entered rather than for the entire selection. I have paste link transposed the data as it needs to run on Excel 2003 which can only hold 30 items in the Average(number1, number 2 ... etc) and I need 52. My problem occurs when the data is paste linked all blank cells appear as a Zero therefore increasing the count of the average and providing a wrong answer.
Eg when (1, 2, 0, 3) Average = 1.5 is entered the formula works out (1, 2, 0, 3, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, etc) Average = 0.12 because it divides by 52 instead of 4. As you can see I can't ignore zeros as they are a possible input. What would be perfect is for the paste link to paste the blank cells instead of the providing a zero then the plan =Average(B3:B55) would be fine.
(Note: the new entered data is on the same row but different columns hence the reason for the paste link transpose to get all the data in one column)
i need to mark some row (which has some content written in), mark other row(with data too) and switch/transpose them mutual. when i was trying transpose method, which is using for switching rowns and columns, it wrote me error, that data are overlapping. it means it cant work on same things (rows > rows, columns > columns).
I have 19 rows of data spanning 184 columns, and I'm attempting to transpose them to be 19 columns and 184 rows, which would normally be easy. The problem is I need to be able to transpose the numbers while still keeping the formulas on a separate worksheet linking/connecting to the correct cells. I almost need to be able to cut/special paste - transpose, but that's not possible... I don't think.
I have some sales history data for products which I need in one row. Each product has 4 rows x 12 columns (months) of data under each other. I need the 48 months of data in one row per product. A sample of the type of data I have is below (product A) along with the expected result. In the real data there would be many products not just one as per my example.
Sheet1 *ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZAAABACADAEAFAGAHAIAJAKALAMANAOAPAQARASATAUAVAW1 Sample Data
how do i transpose from rows to columns i have 545 names with addresses Sheet1 GH221name23 adress line124 adress line225 phone26 fax272name28 adress line129 adress line230 phone31 fax323name33 adress line134 adress line235 phone36 fax37 city384name39 fax40 city Excel tables to the web >> Excel Jeanie HTML 4
selecting each block of name+address is tedious --how can i do it in one go also the number of rows varies in each block -- at places there are 4 rows at other places 3 rows and so on
I have some summary results stated in row format by GL at the row header. I would like the GL to be the column header and the unit to be the row header. I tried using the index function but keep receiving #VALUE! error. Sample attached.
refer to the attached file. I have series of continuous data which is numbered from 1 to 100. They are arranged in vertical order. Due to some application, i need to convert them into another sheet so that they can be viewed horizontally. I used HLOOKUP to obtain the data from sheet 1. Now i have only 17 groups of data and i still have 83 more data to be input in the future. Is there any VBA code that can help me "extend" the equation in sheet2 so that whenever i key in the data in sheet1, the corresponding data will be generated automatically in sheet2?
transposing columns and rows in an Excel worksheet. This data is a table of part numbers requested vs. received over several different days. Currently, the data is sorted by date across the columns, and each date is split into two columns for requested and received. The rows are labeled with the individual part numbers.
I would like to format the data so that the part numbers appear as the column label, and each part number label is split into two columns for requested and received. Also, the date would then signify the date of each value in the table. I have attempted to use the transpose command, but this only gets me half-way there - still struggling with the splitting of the columns. I can drag a simple "= CELL" command, but the existing data is too cumbersome to build this. I thought a macro might be more efficient.
The file attached is a snap-shot of the data, but will display the formatting challenge I have. The worksheet "Given Format" is the current, while the "Desired Format" is the desired.
I want to transpose the phone number and website over where the name is? I know I can do a copy and paste special and transpose but then I have do it individuallly and I have over thousands rows.I have attached an example.
I am trying to clean up some data, which is organized horizantally AND in rows, as per the attached screenshot.
The fact that there is data horizontally across seven week days and in rows for the weeks of the year makes it impossible for me to use the simple TRANSPOSE feature, of which I am aware...
I have quite a couple of worksheets I need to apply this operation on, so manual work is the worst solution...
I have an excel spreadsheet which contains data for customers and the last date they were seen at an appointment (along with various other bits of info).
The way the data is exported from my database package means that each customer has one row per appointment, i.e. row 1 contains john smith, 01/01/2009, row 2 contains john smith, 03/03/2009, row 3 contains john smith 01/04/2009, row 4 contains joe bloggs 12/02/2009, row 5 contains joe bloggs 27/03/2009. Some customers may have 4 or 5 appointments listed whereas another customer may only have one. I need to get the appointments all onto one row per customer so that I can calculate the number of days between appointments. I have tried to use transpose, but with 8000 rows it takes forever.
