View 8 RepliesIf character or letter "A", or "B", and so on (until "J") is found both in Column A and Column B in a given row, then it is TRUE.
If no character or letter (from A to J) matches in both columns, then FALSE.
**Numbers are irrelevant.
looking for a formula that will tell me if a cell containing a date
is the 1st wed of the month or a 3rd wed of the month then
hightlight the celll
example
=if(A1=1st wed or 3rd wed,A2=green,"")
I have a list of stores across the ABC columns and a list of items down the number rows.
I need to sort the lowest price from the A2,B2,C2 row and place it in another cell (possibly L2) along with the store name (from A1,B1....) in M2.
I have to combine two value and use them as a cell name,
So far this gives me the cell name =("A"&A3) where A3 has a value of 2 and the autcome for the code =("A"&A3) is A2 but I wanna use that as the cell name for my formula and not have it projected as a value only if you see what I mean.
Basicaly the reason for this is that when I write a formula in the cells and drug it down it moves 3 numbers at the time as the colomn H is split in 3 per row, so I have for example
=(B1)
=(B4)...
and so on, where I want it to be
=(B1)
=(B2)...
Therefore I am using the colom A to assign a row number, that the reason for the formula A"&A3
but when I try to write a formula it doesnt work as it doesnt use the outcome A2 as a cell name but as a text value only
I have a list of columns filled with data, say b thru d. What i want to do is combine the cells in the same row (b thru d again) and put that value in column a like this : valueb-valuec-valued
I want to keep going down rows until there is no data left and then I want it to stop. So far I have this (which doesn't work at all, as usual)
I need a way to find a value in a column which has one or more corresponding values in an adjacent column. Then take all of the corresponding values found and count all occurrences of the found values in another column. But I only want to count the entries if an adjacent column is not blank.
Not the easiest thing to describe. Starting to wonder if I need to think in reverse. I hope the attached example makes more sense.

I have a column say column A that holds text. If the values match say:
ABC1 or
ABC2 or
ABC3
And also match column B if it shows "Yes" then show "Correct" or "Not Correct".
i have about 100 worksheets in my workbook ..i need to combine them into one worksheet ...all my 100 worksheet has many formulas in some of the cells.
i want to combine all the worksheets one below the other with a gap of 5 blank rows after each worksheet contents....i just want the values in each worksheet to be pasted and no formulas...
I am having 3 rows with same address and want to combine rows with equal names into single and delete remaing two rows
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have to check if two items are in column A, and if yes, there values from column B shoulded be summed. I tried different combinations with IF, LOOKUP but didn't go far.

Is there anyway to combine all the values to omit redundant data?
For e.g.
A B
1 Apple 28
2 Pear 55
3 Orange 35
4 Pear 22
5 Pear 15
6 Orange 18
7 Apple 25
is there any VBA codings that could automatically reduced all the above data to
A B
1 Apple 53
2 Pear 92
3 Orange 53
I have two columns of data and would like to generate a new list showing unique combinations of those values (see attached sheet).
unique list.xls
In this file i did paste special values so the links are no longer there, but in my original file alot of the values you see in the cells are pulled from other worksheets ( thats just so you know to lookin values of the cells and not the formula ).
I basically need row 18 starting from Column O to self populate.
Its based off of which has 1's in the Column. I have the completed here manually just to show you what i am looking for . I usually have to go to row 3 and Enter the data manually depending on which 1's are filled in for the column.
If i could have a method of having row 18 starting with Column O to self populate based off those 1's
I have managed to retain leading zeros in a cell by formatting the cell and selecting Number and Custom and adding the maximum number of zeros I want to have in front of the number in the cell i.e. 000002.
I want to have another cell in the spread sheet which contains the value 35394000002 using the formula =A24&B24.
When I use this formula I get 353942. How can I retain these zeros?
I have a wookbook with serial numbers in column A and barcodes in column B. There are 51940 rows in total.
Is there a way I can search through column A, and for each unique value found , concatenate all of the barcodes that relate to that serial number in column C?
Serial Numbers | Barcodes | Combined Values
-------------------------------------------------------
abc123 abc12300 abc12300,abc12301, etc etc
abc123 abc12301
def456 def45600 def45600, def45601, etc etc

i am using Excel 2010.
I am trying to combine the text values of several formulas in addition to adding some text (punctuation) in between.
Here is the data that I am trying to combine
C14: 2013
C15: Period 6
C16: Week 1
In Cell C13, I would like to have this value returned: "2013 - Period 6, Week 1"
Is there such a way to do this?
I have 12 workbooks (one for each month), they have a list of assets to our company and a running total of all expenses for the month that they incurred. The 13th workbook is a yearly analysis of each asset. I need to transfer all charges into this worksheet.
So for example:
Worksheet 1 (January)
Column A Column H
Asset # Total Expense
5021 $3,041.52
970289 $242.08
Worksheet 13
Column A Column B Column C Column D
Asset # Asset Description January February
5021 Rivet Machine $3041.52 $345.65
So hundreds more machines for twelve months can take awhile to populate this info and very confusing when dealing with separate worksheets.
I need to get 5 small subs into 1 sub. (run the whole program by pressing once.
Please see attached file with codes : ServiceDriftMaaling.rar
Ok, These are the three formula's. How do I combine them or can I.
=IF((B2="GOV"),[@[Gal Billed]]/1000*1.5)
=IF((B2="NPROFIT"),[@[Gal Billed]]/1000*2,0)
=IF((B2="COM"),[@[Gal Billed]]/1000*3)
I need to write IF statement with 4 criteria, or at least I think IF will do the trick. It would be difficult and not very visual to describe my question here, therefore I have attached a dummy workbook with the comments. Basically I have got 2 values in 2 columns. Next 2 columns will hold letter "x". There are 4 possible variations how "x" will appear in those two columns: first, second, both or none. So depending where the "x" is, I need to return one of the 2 values.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have two formulas that i need to combine as one, but i dont now how.
This is the other formula:
=SUMPRODUCT((Huollot!I2:I500="Ty”n alla")*(Huollot!K2:K500="Warranty")*1)
The other one:
=IF(NETWORKDAYS(Sheet1!C1;Huollot!C2:C500)>20;1;0)
the biggest problem is that this formula does not work as it is. Or is there some other function than networkdays that i could use?
The purpose of the formula is to count how many "objects" that are in service have been there for over 20 days. There a a few other criteria also, but sumproduct takes care of that. Can networkdays even be used the way i´m trying to?
In cell B1 I have the number 1
In cell C1 I have the number 1031000
I know how to combine the cells in A1. I am getting a result of 1-1031000
What I would like to happen is that 1 becomes 001.
Ending result is 001-1031000
problem is that cells in B could be one, two or three digits.
On a small scale I could fix manually but i have over 15,000 rows to deal with
I want to combine number in one row.
Column A
12
13
14
15
Need to be in column B. 12,13,14,15. I tried “=A1&”,”&??
Trying to write an IF query looking for multiple returns that would equal the same result.
I have a series of number where the last digit would result in the same return if the digit were 1 or 6, 2 or 7, 3 or 8, etc.
1 or 6 = 1
2 or 7 = 2
I have been trying unsuccessfully to combine the IF and OR queries
I am trying to use SUMIF as part of an IF statement, What I am trying to do is, for example, if a column has two values M and P, then SUMIF only those rows that have a corresponding M, and not calculate the P's.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi m working on a spreadsheet and i need cell A+B=C..
Example
Cell A has a first name (John)
Cell B has a last name (Smith)
Cell C has last name then first name seperated with comma
Is it possible to combine three cells into one? Like for example, column A is the first name, column B is the middle name, column C is last name.
Is it possible put it on a format like this: Last, First M.
(middle name on column B is a name, not an initial.)
And can I make it only the first letters are capped. Last, First M. Or all small letters. last, first m.
I have:
- Table 1 has ~1,600 records (name of game, meta score, user score)
- Table 2 has ~3,000 records (name of game, genre, publisher)
I want:
- Table X has ~1,600 records (name of game, meta score, user score, genre, publisher)
Basically, I want to take the genre and publish columns from Table 2, and add it to Table 1. However, I want to ignore the extra ~1,400 games that Table 2 has.
I'm nearly a complete noob when it comes to excel. Noob to the point where I don't even know what this thing is called, so I don't even know how to search for it properly! I know something can be done since there is a common column between the two (name of game).
Edit: Also, I think it'd be easier if I were able to attach my excel spreadsheets but I don't even know how to do that
