View 1 Replies View RelatedI have multiple columns with data and I want to represent them in a bar graph. The problem is that for some of them I want to represent the sum something like:
Columns A and B sum and represent (I don't want to make another column, C, with the sum, the sum of the two columns should be done by the graph).
In column A I have a sentence.
I would like column B to return TRUE if the sentence in column A contains any of the string below:
AAA¤
BBB¤
CCC¤
DDD¤
EEE¤
FFF¤
GGG¤
HHH¤
III¤
JJJ¤
Where ¤ is any number from 1 to 9.
Is there a formula to do this, preferably without having to list all the possible combination of the list e.g. AAA1, AAA2, AAA3, and so on?

From F5 to AR5 percentages scores will be inserted for each row.
So percentages scores for the first three entries (F5-H5) should yield the following result:

I am making a spreadsheet that will be used to track employee time usage. I would like to be able to create a graph of the time throughout the day that shows only whether or not the employee has entered an activity during each particular time slot.
EX: The graph shows the time from 8-10am in 30 minute increments. The employee has entered activities for the time slots from 8-9 and 9:30-10. When the graph is created, I would like to see times 8-9 and 9:30-10 filled (or, charted, or, however I should phrase it) and time 9-9:30 left blank (to represent that no work was done).
I have a scenario where by Column A is date incident opened and Colum B is date incident closed.
And Column C shows the days between them. I got this and its fine. However, how do i
make a table or in any how define it as if the number is 1 - 3 days then it should be A
1-3 days = A
4-6 days = B
7-8 days = C
9 days onwards = D
This is because i need to make a chart and graph of the turn around time and the best is to define into a character alphabet so the chart will show the statistics of how many A, B, C and D But how do i do that.
I have 52 tables in one spreadsheet to represent 52 weeks and have created another table to sum the weekly data but the sum function doesn't do it because of the amount of cells which need adding.
example: c3, c14, c24, c34, c44, c54 etc...
In one column (f5:F100) I have five digit numbers that represent a persons code. I have five groups of codes, they are 10000-15000, 16000-19000, 20000-25000, 26000-29000, and 30000-40000. In another column (Column H) I have an "X" saying the are qualified in something.
I am looking for how to write a statement that says answers this question:
How many people are qualified in the codes between 10000-15000.
Ultimately I am going to take this number and divide it by the total number of people in the group to get a percetage of qualified people in the group.
I have a column of values the values can be "T", 0.00 ->any number to the nearest hundredth. I thought I had this problems solved a while back but after having time to do some quality control I found that anytime there is a value of "T" the macro does not work. I have had some great help with this in the past to get as far as I have but I still cannot seems to get it 100%. I have attached a sample file. The result that I would like to see is in the cell BH145 is "16,17,23" without the quotes of course.
When you open the worksheet you will see that the values of concern are precipitation values. These values are rounded to nearest hundredth. When there is a trace of precip however it is recorded as "T" therein lies the problem that I cannot seem to solve.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a workbook that I've built for a project. I've attached a sample workbook. What I'm trying to do, for the entire sheet or workbook if possible, is turn any Cell with a percentage of 30% to 49% yellow and any cell with a percentage of 50% or more Red. I would also like to move the ID's of the variable cells, for example Id number 9922, to the cells beside the description of the rows, Affected would be an example, if the information contained in the same row as the ID meets with a set of variables.
For example I only want the ID's moved if they correspond with IDsub 1-25. One more thing, the people who will be using this spreadsheet will be copying data from a website when it is imported it does not insert the values as numbers. I would like to format the cells, in example workbook they would be any of the cells labeled ID IDsub Variable or Number, so that anything put in that cell will automatically be converted to a number.
I should also probably add that the formatting will be done on approximately 80 rows a sheet with 47 sheets.
calculating the percentage of a percentage and writing the formula for excel.
There are 295 people in a room, of the 295, 75 or 25% are mothers. (I know how to calculate 25% - 75/295 = 25.42) of the 75 mothers 35 have 3 children, 32 have 2 children and 10 have 1 child.
35 is what percent of 25%
32 is what percent of 25%
10 is what percent of 25%

On the attached Excel file, I have code that will insert a variable number of rows and copy and paste from and to variable positions. That all works fine when run from a command button, but when I try to run it from the Worksheet_Calculate by entering 1 in J1 or K1 (inrange cell is J1+K1 for testing purposes) the CommandButton1_Click sub runs continously until an error occurs.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm fairly new to macro's and VBA, by searching on the internet i've copied and pasted some code together into a macro.
But it ends in a Run-time error 91...
The macro opens a target .xls file in a selected folder, performs copy - paste actions from masterfile to targetfile.
Than it filters data in the targetfile sheet1 and copy's the results to the various other sheets; saves and closes the targetfile.
The next target file in the folder is opened and the actions are repeated in this second target file.
For the first target file this works smoothly; but for the second one (of a total of around 100) it does not copy the filter results to the other sheets in this workbook.
The error message i get is: "Run-time error 91:Object variable or with block variable not set."
When i hit debug it highlights the line "ActiveSheet.Next.Select" which, at least in the first file, seems ok.
I need a macro that will create a sheet at the end of the workbook.
Sum data from a variable amount of sheets and display that data on the created sheet.
Here is a step by step:
Starting on sheet 5.
Column D has a variable amount of part numbers in it. These part numbers would be different between the ascending sheets.
Column T, U, V has an inputed number in it that would need added up across all duplicate part numbers in all the sheets.
(Note: The data would also need started on row 4. Everything above row 4 is headers)
Here is a small example:

I need the macro to start with sheet #5(starting on row 4). Check to see if there is data in column T, U or V. If there is, to create a new sheet at the end. And copy the entire line into that sheet (starting on row 4).
After that, to check every sheet after (excluding the newly created one, starting on row 4) for data in Column T, U and V. And then check for duplicates in Column D on the newly created sheet. If there is a duplicate to add/subtract that number in Column T, U and V to the SUM in column T, U and V in the newly created sheet. If there is no duplicate, to copy the entire line to the new sheet.
So that when finished. On the new sheet, you have the SUM of T, U and V for everything that has data in T, U or V for all of the previous sheets, plus the entire line of the first instance (excluding the first 4 sheets).
I am trying to develope a "goto" page macro where the page value maybe 1,34,7A, 256C etc. I am not clear on how an inputbox value can be compared to a string variable or a numeric variable at the same time. This is what I have done, but when the texboxvalue is "7A" it doesn't work.

to assign a variable to equal a Constant variable, then I need to find the last unused row on the worksheet, then paste that variable down the column (1-12200 or so rows). I also need to assign Strings for the first two Rows in the target column.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI attempted to modify "macro_1a1ay" to look into the "comments" sheet (column a) for a specific text string. If that text string is found, I have it delete the entire row, then re-sort the page and return to the calling page. It works well as long as it finds something. When it does not find the string (i.e. like now when the page is blank) it gives me the run-time error mentioned above.
