Converting Numbers To 24 Hour Format?

Dec 12, 2013

how we could convert numbers to 24 hour time format as we key in the numbers?

Example:

As we key in 0815, it would automatically convert to 08:00.

As we key in 1345, it would automatically convert to 13:45.

What is the code we could use to put in the code of the sheet?

Converting 16 Digit Number Into Text?

Nov 25, 2011

I am using following formulae to convert 16 digit number to with validation that number is not exceeding 16 digits and should always start with "1" else it should give Error with 11 blank spaces

(IF(LEN(L2)+LEFT(L2)=17,TEXT(L2,"0000000000000000"),"ERROR"&REPT(" ",11))))

but when I input any number which has a value other than zero e.g. 1009510010000059 its returning result as 1009510010000050 I need validation also in the same formulae

Converting 4 Digit Number Into Time Format

Jan 15, 2014

I have two Columns of 4 digit numbers (24 hour clock format). I need these numbers to be in Time Format. Formatting the Columns or even individual cells seems to do nothing.

1238 as 12:38 etc.

These numbers are acquired using VLOOKUP

I have attached a copy of my file, The numbers in question are on sheet "iCalender" 8th sheet accross.
Columns "start Time" and "End Time"

Time Format is Compulsory so that I can upload to a .ics Web Converter. Of which is currently failing for this reason.

Converting 2 Digit Year Into 4 Digit Year

Apr 15, 2008

I have 2 digit years (98, 99, 00, 01) that I need to convert to 4 digit years (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001). There is one year per cell. If it was simply a matter of adding 19 or 20 to the beginning of each, I could do that. But since there's a combination of both 19 and 20 that needs to be added and there all intermingled, I'm not sure how to do it.

Can a rule be written to add 19 to the beginning except if the current cell starts with a 0, then add 20? The highest year is 2008 (no 2010 to deal with).

Example:

98 --> 1998
99 --> 1999
00 --> 2000
01 --> 2001

Converting Ping Log To Average Ping Per Hour Chart

Aug 21, 2013

So I have an Excel Table that consists of data from a Ping utility (we're having a lot of connection issues on our DSL line), every 5-10 seconds the program pings various websites like google, yahoo, etc. and logs the ping time.

I'd like to make a chart or graph that shows the average ping per Hour (or 30 minutes, or whatever) for all these sites combined, basically take an hour of pings, find the average of all or just the pings from one IP, plot.

Table is
ColA = Date Time (8/20/2013 15:57)
ColB = IP Address (173.252.110.27)
ColC = Ping (123)
ColD = Result (Succeeded/Failed)
ColD = DNS (facebook.com, it's a vlookup from a table of IPs and their DNS address)

Changing Date/time To Run A 12 Hour Production Schedule, And Not 24 Hour

Sep 4, 2006

I have created a daily schedule which has a number of factory variables taken into consideration which determine the date and time a particular product should, barring any mechanical problems, come off the machine. (see attached spreadsheet).

The date at the top will be editable by me only so that when I update the production quantities, the “date/time off” column automatically re-adjusts to the remaining quantities.

The formulas are a little long winded, but I have left them that way whilst I try and develop it. I should be able to figure out how to condense them later.

My problem is that the “date/time off” on the right works excellent, but over a 24 hr period.

Ordinarily, we work a 12 hour day (6am to 6pm) with overlapping shifts to cover breaks, and 20 mins warm up at the start of the day for the machine, thus maximising a 12 hour day.

Of course if demand exceeds the allotted time we put on overtime.

Is it possible to specify that normal days are only 12 hours so that if a product exceeds 6pm, it flows into the next day with the balance starting at 6:20am?

And, if the production for the week exceeds the time could I stipulate particular days which we deem are suitable for overtime? Ie, we decide Wednesday is a 14 hour day and not 12.

I had toyed with the idea of creating a 365 day table/calendar, on another worksheet which would have its individual allocated hours in an adjacent column and somehow link them to the date/time off, perhaps by way of a VLOOKUP, but I have been chasing my tail trying to figure out how to implement it.

Excel 2010 :: Counting Users Per Hour For Each Hour

Oct 21, 2013

I work in a computer lab and we have to keep track of how many people sign in (using excel 2010), and how long they were here.

I'm looking for a way to count how many entries were made per hour for every hour someone was signed in.

For example someone signs in at 9:22 am and leaves at 3:34 pm.They were here from 9-10, 10-11, 11-12 etc.. and its getting very tiresome to go through and manually enter a "1" for each individual hour in each cell under the hour.

Is there a way I can feed the in and out times into a spreadsheet and have it automatically count how many people were in the lab each hour?

Seperate 2 Digit Number Into 2 Single Digit Numbers

I know you can take a number from one cell and combine it with number from another cell and make it one number. What I need to do is the reverse. Take a two digit number in a cell and separate it into single digits in two cells. If you have the number 50 in a cell, then is there a formula that will take the 5 and put it in cell and take the 0 and put it in the cell beside it?

Check Digit For 8 Digit Number

Jun 13, 2014

How to calculate a check digit in excel. The details to calculate this are as follows:

All variables in the calculation are positive integers.

We take each integer of the pro number and multiply it by a value and sum them to get a total.

An Example: 8 Digit Pro Number: 66988757
Pro Number: 6 6 9 8 8 7 5 7
Position in the Pro Number: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Multiply each digit in the pro number by (10-position) in the number, to achieve a sum.

Using our example pro again:
6*(10-1) + 6*(10-2) + 9*(10-3) + 8*(10-4) + 8*(10-5) + 7*(10-6) + 5*(10-7) + 7*(10-8)
6*9 + 6*8 + 9*7 + 8*6 + 8*5 + 7*4 + 5*3 + 7*2
54+ 48+ 63+48+40+28+15+14 = 310
Take the Sum of the previous calculation and divide it by 11
310/11 = 28

(Actually, it's 28.181818, but since we're working with integers, we truncate everything behind the decimal).

Figure a remainder by multiplying the quotient by 11 and subtracting from the sum.
Remainder = 310 - (28*11) ---> Remainder = 310 - 308 ----> Remainder = 2
Check Digit = 11- Remainder
Check Digit = 11 - 2 ---> Check Digit = 9
Note: if the check digit is 10 or 11, need to subtract 10 from the Check Digit.

If / Then In A Macro - Changing 2 Digit Year Into 4 Digit Year

Jul 3, 2014

I need a macro where I can highlight a column and change all of the 2 digit years to a 4 digit year (actually, some of the 2 digit years are only 1 digit, e.g. "9" instead of "09").

I have an if then statement that I can use in the column after it, but I'd rather change the actual numbers in the original column, rather than adding another column (and having to keep the original, too).

The statement I had was:
=if(A1>=50,1900+A1,2000+A1)

I just copy dragged down to get the cell numbers for the rest of the column... but using A1 was just for an example, here, it's not necessarily going to be in that column. It needs to be just whichever cells I select.

It seems like it should be pretty simple, but I don't know how to word it in a macro.

Starting Column Example:
12

13

14

99

11

For some reason I can't get rid of the borders...

Counting Staff By Hour

Jul 28, 2014

I need counting the number of staff within a time period. Unfortunately the schedule structure does not allow application of the simple solutions I've found regarding this which results in this being more complicated. My example is attached. My start and end time are in the same cell. I have used the Left() and Right() functions to manipulate the times. I am unable to count the number of occurrences of between the start/stop times of all my employees in the array. The formula also needs to take into account a manually entered time on the actual day.

Basically:

00:00 if F9:F42 = time is TRUE and I9:I42 = "" then count occurrences of 00:00 in scheduled times F9:F42 + if F9:F42 = time is FALSE, then if I9:I42 = time is TRUE then count occurrences of 00:00 in scheduled times I9:I42

01:00
02:00
"
"

Even when I think I've gotten close the midnight time crossover keeps throwing off.
