Is there a way to copy the information in a Windows Explorer page into Excel?

For example, for any given folder or sub-folder in Explorer, I'd like to copy the NAMES of (i.e., not the file itself or the contents of the file) FILENAME, SIZE, TYPE, MODIFIED date, etc..

The following 3 macros do the following.

1st macro . . . When the button is clicked for this macro, Windows Explorer is opened and the folder MyMenuFiles is selected. Works Fine.

2nd macro . . . When this button is clicked, the windows explorer opens with My Documents selected. Works Fine.

3rd macro . . . THIS IS THE PROBLEM ONE. When this button is clicked, windows explorer opens, with the C: drive selected. I want My Computer selected.

The problem I have is that once I have done this a number of times (probably somewhere between 80-100 times then I notice windows explorer starts to play up as if running out of memory. A reboot soon fixes that, however, I was wondering if there is anything I can add to the code to keep it from hogging up memory...if that is even possible.

When I say 80 - 100 times, I don't mean opening up 80 - 100 instances of windows explorer. I mean launching windows explorer, moving some files then closing that instance of windows explorer. Then coming back into excel and repeating that process.

Perhaps, this question is much more related to Windows API but I thought of posting it here incase I get some more ideas.

I am looking forward to develop a program wherein I can prevent or avoid an Excel file being overwritten by a different file with the same name in the same location in windows explorer.

After a rapid search on the internet I have got something which I could use but that would just serve me the purpose of retreiving the overwritten file in windows explorer.

2 Instances Of 2007 Slow To Open A File By Double-clicking And Entering From Windows Explorer

i use excel 2007, it s slow to open a file by double-clicking and entering from windows explorer, by googling i fould a fix by adding "%1" at the end of command in "Application used to perform action" (folder options/file types/xls/advance/open). however, to open files in the same instance, i have to keep "DDE message" with [open("%1")]. With both "%1", excel now opens twice.
How to fix it?

How Can I Pull Selected Rows Of Information From 1 Worksheet Page To Another

how to reference cells in 1 page from another and understand basic formula's, and would appreciate any input on how or if i can acheive what i'm trying to accomplish.

I have a worksheet with say 100 rows of information, it is a list of materials to go into a construction job. the columns to the right of the description calculate volume/quantity etc and produce a cost for the item. what i want to do is have a summary page that only lists the items that are being used, not all 100 items are in every job and i dont want to have to print the whole list with a bunch of empty values, which will just waste paper and ink. I'd like to enter a value in a cell or setup a check box or something that i could somehow use to then list that row or a part of that row of information on a seperate sheet, for a nice concise, easy to read list of job materials. i would like to do produce 1 sheet with the cost associated with the item, and one without cost.

Disabling Windows (Copy Addin To Addin Folder) Dialog

I have an Excel Addin that I deploy as a read-only addin on a server share. I instruct my co-workers to add the Add-In as they would any other Add-In, but I tell the to answer NO to the Windows question "Copy 'AddinName' to the Addins folder for John Doe?".

That way, everyone will be working with the server version of the addin, and any time I want to roll out an updated version I just place a new addin file on the server. The next time the users restart Excel, the new version is loaded.

Except users never follow directions and some of them click the default 'Yes' when asked and get a local copy of the addin and never receive updated versions of the addin.

How do I disable the "Copy Addin" question completely? I don't want to depend on the user. I know this is possible because I have this 3rd party addin that we use that is installed from c:Program Files and it just stays there and you're never asked to copy the addin when you install it in Excel.

Copy/Pasting From Web Page

I am a novice when it comes to excel, but I have a project due at work where I need to search out correct addresses and copy and paste them into the cells where the incorrect info already exists. Here is my problem, I have been working on this no problem for about a week now and today all of a sudden when I copy the text from my search result on google and try to paste it into the cell, it pastes the google link, instead of the text I copied. It does this for the entire row but will not do it for row after row, I might be able to get the next 5 or 6 rows to accepet the correct text, and if I try to just type the info in, it appears as a clickable link.
I cannot figure out what I did, if anything or how to fix it so that I can get this work done.

Losing Information During Copy

As you can see this macro copies a worksheet from one workbook to a new one. It is 14 columns wide by just under 700 rows long. I am losing information out of cells all over the place.

Copy Information From Many Sheets

I have a workbook that has close to a hundred sheets in it (see attached). I need to know how to get all of the information onto one sheet in separate columns like this: EMPLOYEE NO| HIRE DATE| NAME| VAC AMOUNT|WEEKS|VAC DATES| # OF HOURS|AMOUNT|PPE

If you review the attachment you will see how the sheet is read from left to right, so I would need the have the information in that order.

I have a second spreadsheet with 5 tabs where I need to make the page setup the same for each tab as the saved spreadsheet #1.

Background: This is a workaround for not being able to do copy/paste special values for pivot tables. My workaround is to save an .xlsx as a .mht then reopen and save as .xlsx. The only problem is that I lose page setups through the process.

Retrieve Data From Different Page And Copy

I need to move data from "2010" page to page "sheet 1 (2)" so I don't have to double chart.

I want to be able to retrieve data in columns w, x, y, z, ac, and ad, on page 2010 and place them respectively in coloumns I - N on the correct row. (the row that matches the right name)

I dont' know how to do this-I don't know if it complicates things that 2010 has breaks in the data (each month has totals and are broken up. ) can anyone help?
I believe I have xcel 2003 if it matters.

Now, on the web page if you click on aerographics it takes you to the website. I'd like to copy and paste those same three entries from the webpage in to an excel sheet~and be able to click on aerographics and have it take me to the site. I searched this site and couldn't find the problem replicated. I've tried paste special~it formats the entries I want as URL's, but when I click on them nothing happens. I can type www.googl.com in to a cell and it instantly works as a link. And I have about 500 of this type entry/copy and paste to do so making a hyperlink is impractical.

How To Copy Page Formatting When Pasting Into New Workbook

I've been trying to code a macro that will select a worksheet (that has formulas) to copy just the values into a new workbook. I want the page setup data to also be included. It seems that if a select the workbook and do a copy, it includes the formulas. If I select the cells, then do a paste/special values into the new workbook, the page setup is the default one. Each worksheet that I want to copy/paste has different page setup values and I'd like to be able to carry over the page setup. Otherwise, I have to have code to do all the page setup in the macro. There are over 20 worksheets and it's slow.

This code does the copy/paste special but no worksheet page setup is included

Copy Last X Rows Of Table & Set Page Breaks

I want to add a button on my Worksheet that will basically copy the last portion of the sheet (about 40 lines) and insert it at the bottom of the sheet (above the button). Each time the button is clicked, the last 40 lines will be copied and pasted. The script also sets the page break to the appropriate line. To achieve this, I've set up a hidden sheet that contains the line numbers and last page number. The script accrues these numbers every time the script runs.

I realise there may be a better way to do this, but at this point I'm trying to stick to what I know. I'm trying to use the function Row().Select, and I keep getting an Error 13. Example of my

I am a complete amature at Marco's and formulas. I have been trying to create what i need but i am unable to get it to work. I have a worksheet named "Course dates incl. pursuit" which has a table which runs from B7 to J144 in the table it has date, number, name, location, job, area, notifified, on system and passed?. in that order. I want if the passed column which is in J if that has a Y in it to copy and paste into another worksheet on the next avaliable line, worksheet name "Master."I would like it in a slightly different order if that is possible they have the same titles on the table but would like it to go number, name, location, job, area and date. Running from B5 to G(end of spreadsheet). That is the main part i would also like to to copy and paste into another worksheet if the answer is "N" but the above part is the most important part. Due to the computer settings i am unable to attach it

Macro To Copy / Paste Information To A Table?

What I would like a macro to do is take information from cells A1 to P1 on sheet1 and add them to the table in sheet2 and then I can save the workbook. The information in A1 to P1 is taken from other cells around the workbook. Once the information is in sheet 2 I can delete or change the informtion in sheet 1 without it affecting the copied information in sheet 2.

The next time I open the workbook I can enter the information in cells A1 to P1 on sheet1 then run the macro again and will then take the information and add it to the bottom of the table in sheet2 underneath the previous information that had been added - obviously the source of this information will now be deleted.

I will need to do this again and again building up the table in sheet2. The table will also use columns A to P like in sheet1.
