I perform a routine in VBA which deletes unwanted rows of data from my worksheet. The problem occurs if row 2 happens to be one of those rows. It not only deletes Row 2, but it also deletes my Named Range.
Check If Named Range Exists Before Delete

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have tried searching but I can only find threads about checking for named objects or about using the toolbars to add/delete named ranges.
Named Range That Alternates Rows

Dec 1, 2012I'm trying to write a 'ReImport' macro to copy data from one model into another. I'll call these models 'Master' and 'Split'. 'Master' contains about 50 departments' worth of financial data, and the 'Split' files contain a Division's (between 1 and 20 departments') worth of data. Structurally, the 'Split' files are just copies of the Master with the unneeded departments hidden. They are sent to various Divisions for completion, then the ReImport process takes data from the Split files and copies it back into the Master. Every Split File contains the full 50 departments from the Master, and it is only the 'Visible Row' distinction plus a 'ReImport key' that should determine what gets ReImported.
Each 'Split' range has a range name that controls what Departments are hidden or visible, but the range name is not contiguous. In other words, Division A might show Departments 1, 4-8 and 23. (Reordering the Depts is not an option.)
In a perfect world, I want to evaluate ONLY rows contained within the Division range name for the ReImport key. But the non-contiguous aspect of the named range is throwing me off. So in the above example, JUST Departments 1, 4-8 and 23.
My second-best solution would be to search through Departments 1-23, though that would be much slower...

Apr 1, 2014I have a master sheet and 102 'advisor named sheets'. The master sheet is updated daily with information (number and text) along 1 row in different columns (A:W). I would like when the advisors name is typed (W) =joebloggs! for this whole row to be auto input on joebloggs sheet. There can be multiple of these entered daily for same person, so the information would need to populate on the next row so not to type over the previous entry.

Jul 19, 2013I'm trying to make my named ranges remember the values of the last active cells used within another named range. The purpose of this is to make my charts dynamically change dependant on two criteria selected. My spreadsheet currently updates itself as and when I change the active cell within a single named range, dynamically changing the chart data by using Lookup based on the active cells value. However I want to get away from having several charts showing, I would like to have a single chart which dynamically changes based on a second selection. So the first selection is for a department (Facility) which changes the chart data relevant to that department, the second selection is to dynamically change the chart shown for the pre selected department.

Using the following code when updating just one criteria with several charts

which works fine but I'm not sure how to add a second selection criteria because my code uses Activecell. I thought that the VBA needed to set the last used value of a range as a variable and therefore allow the second criteria to be selected but am not sure how to put it into practice.
VBA Delete Blank Rows Within Range
Jun 23, 2014I've got a code that generates some worksheets in a fairly large workbook. The code is run monthly and replaces the already existing worksheets.
The problem is that each newly generated worksheets contains more than 1 million rows, which means that the size of each worksheet is around 5MB.
I need a code which allows me to delete all blank rows starting with row 1000 in those worksheets.

(deleting out the middle amounts) I think this might be a nested If stmt but have not figured it out so I'm not sure if there is another way.

Delete Rows Outside Date Range
Apr 26, 2006On sheet2 Range L4:L2000 I have starting dates entered in mm/dd/yy format. On sheet2 Range M4:M2000 I have finish dates entered in mm/dd/yy format.
On sheet3 I have a numeric value of mmddyy (no brackets) in cell BC4.
What i'm looking to do is if the numeric value on sheet3 BC4 does not fall between the start and finish dates on sheet2, then the entire row should be deleted. Can this be done with the different date formats (Brackets vs no brackets)

Aug 14, 2009I have a need to add or delete rows from a number of known sheet names using a table of variables on another sheet that tell me the start row of the sheet I need to go to and the number of rows I need to either add (ie copy rows and paste / insert these) or delete (delete rows).
There are multiple blocks of data I mey need to amend on each sheet and the values in my table of variables will change on each iteration (ie if I delete rows from the first block on a sheet, the start row for the 2nd block I need to amend will need to be updated in the table of variables before I can edit the 2nd block on that sheet).
I have been able to get the process to work for a single instance (ie one sheet and amendments to the first block of that sheet) but I can't figure out how to create the loop to elegantly move to the next set of variables and repeat the process for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th block etc on the first sheet and then move to the 2nd sheet to repeat the process etc.

Aug 8, 2013I am trying out with a code which checks for cell value as "Select" in column IU and then checks for corresponding column IV for value as "0". Please note that "Select" and "0" are populated by formulas. I need the select "Select" and "0" till the next "Select" occurs in column IU and delete the selected range and continue the process until last non empty cell based on column C.

Delete Named Ranges
Aug 26, 2008I have a number of crazy defined names in my spreadsheet (1,746 to be exact). Not sure where they all came from, but I need them gone gone gone. Some of them start with squares at the front of the name and most of them refer to =#ref! or similar. I've seen a number of vba solutions to this, but none of them seem to work for me - I get "400" errors or run time errors. For reference, I'm hitting Alt F11, pasting the whole sub in, saving, then running.

Sep 4, 2007I have read post re this question but have not been able to answer my problem. I get the error message 'Application defined or object defined error' when running the code below. I should indicate the range counter currently indicated about 6,200 rows that this code will work on and the individual range names in the list of 6,200 rows are spread over at least 20 worksheets.
The code appears to be running but after some time it stops on the line of code 'Range(Cells(i, 1).Value) = Cells(i, 2)'.
