I have a spreadsheet I've been using for some time with hundreds of VBA macros. For some unexplained reason, is has changed all my
Selection.Copy
to
selection.copy
which then interrupts the running of the macro as it can't decipher this command.
For example, on column X, if I type 20, bob or bobafett it type 2.0 instead but on column I if I type bob, it will type 3.0
they would all be edited manually
or even better, no matter where I type it on excel, it would go in the right column, like bob X, then it would change to 2.0 and go directly in the X column
I have got the following problem. I have got a table which looks like this:

=max!A1
=min!A1
=Close!A1
When I mark the selected cells and scroll down using the autofill option I get this:
=Time!A1
=Open!A1
=max!A1
=min!A1
=Close!A1
=Time!A6
=Open!A6
=max!A6
=min!A6
=Close!A6
Why does it give A6? I want A2 instead of A6 because I want to create a table from A1 to A500 but without these jumps from A1 to A6.
adjust the following code so that my images are just a bit lower than "top aligned"? The code centers my images perfectly within the cells, but when you top align an image, it's just a hair too high and border formatting does not come out.

There is a unique code for each product.
What i was hoping for is a way where on the second sheet the product (using the unique codes assigned to the product) is looked up on the master sheet and the NEW price on the 2nd sheet replaces the OLD price on the Master sheet?
I'm working on a time sheet, and to make it easier to enter time i created a macro that sets the auto correct to correct a "." to a ":", but when the workbook closes i want to run a macro that deletes the auto correct rule.
it returns an error when I try to enter it. Is there a brave soul which a good eye for errors that might be able to shine some light on the error. Currently it appears the error centers around the MONTH( ) portions of the function. But each embedded function is able to stand alone and I can't imagine why they won't work together.

I'm trying to create a formula that will added the correct amount in the correct cells, I have create a dunny sheet in trying to achieve this. If Cell B8:B11 = ABS or Dum that any points won should be added to Cell L8:L11 right now its adding it into K8:K11. If Cell B8:B11 = is Blank any player points should be added to cells K8:K11. I'm using this formula throughout cells K8:K28 =IF(J8>J25,1,IF(AND(J8<>0,J8=J25),0.5,0)) Any thing in red is incorrect anything in blue is what I'm trying to achieve.

I have a table with 3 columns of dates and then a column with Set # that I
feel in the box #.
I need to see how many items processed for each set per day.

The problem is that it counts the correct amount but not with the correct
dates.
The formula that I use is:

I'm running Excel 2003 and I have a workbook with an Auto List in Column G. When I attempt to paste a row of data I get the following message.
The operation is not allowed. the operation is attempting to shift cells in a list on your worksheet.
To work around this, I have to convert the list to a range, copy the data and then reapply the Auto List.
Is there another way to work around this or will I have to create vba code or record a macro?
when using ato filer and I select an item id like to look I try to sum up the total at the bottom but it doesnt give me the correct answer.
So now i am manually soring and going through the data to get the correct totals.
I'm new to VBA but have had it working well for me, until the other night when a user complained that when he ran a macro, it came up with the error "Paste method of Worksheet class failed". I should note that this has worked time and time again, so I'm lost. I also found tonnes of answers with a Google search but they were all relative to that persons code.

Why this error is coming up on a macro. Now to what I'm trying to accomplish is I have 1 sheet called GDL and I want to pull certain data from that sheet into another sheet called data sheet. I have formulas set in the data sheet to pull the information I want. When I run the macro, some columns are already hidden. The macro doesn't seem to autosize cells correctly. For instance, one cell in a row appears to have some contents hidden (or below the reading area of the cell). In other instances, the rows are auto-size to huge heights and widths.
I need the tabs of a project action log to auto-populate and auto-delete in a master log. (So when something is added or deleted in a tab it is added or deleted on the master) I use excel a little bit for work and personal finance purposes but I have zero experience with macros or VBA.

On the down side, I have only basic experience with excel and have never used macros or VBA.
Even if what I am after could be solved with functions (which I prefer), I simply do not quite know how to make what I want without assistance. Ok, now on to the description.
The mission tracker aside from showing a list of the missions we have done during our program, it needs to also generate metrics automatically. In my worksheet, I am using columns A-G and rows 1-501.
The mission scheduling type in Column E are listed below. The letters on the left are what I am using in the sheet, the part to the right is what it really means:
Column D has the day of the week listed as: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun.
now the metrics I need to be generated are the number of different types of each mission compared, how many of each type of mission was flown per day of the week, how many of each type of mission was flown per month.
Basically what I need is a way to automatically count the number of rows that meet a specific criteria throughout the range. This would require being able to check the value/text of multiple cells at a time and count the number of rows that meet that criteria.
[SOLVED] 1. The first part would be to have the worksheet be able to count the number of each type of the 9 mission scheduling codes throughout the range. I would be storing the count in new cells that would then be connected to pie charts.
[SOLVED] 2. The second part would be to count the number of each type of mission that was flown per day of the week. That would require searching both mission type and day of the week. All I would need is a working formula for 1 set, then I could switch mission codes and weekdays to match all the 63 possible outcomes.
3. Knowing the number of each type of mission flown per month. This would be checking the date and the mission type. The trickier part that comes up in my mind is that our programs span multiple calendar years, so it would have to track it by month and year, that way there is a difference between Jan 2009 and Jan 2010. The counted numbers would be used to make histograms. It would be nice if the chart titles could be automatic based on the dates inputed in the mission tracker. If I needed to choose a maximum time length for it to cover, I would pick 3 years.
4. I would like to figure out how to make an inputted line of data on the main tracker sheet to create a copy in the corresponding worksheets based on schedule type, that way a person could look at/print a specific type without having to sort the main list.
The actual goal is to make it where a person can enter the 1 line of data per mission (cells A-G) and the mission metrics update automatically after each mission is inputed allowing upper level supervision to have current information quickly whenever it is needed. Currently we need about a weeks lead time to get the information asked for on our current progress.
Within a data validation selection, are you able to do both Auto Complete and Auto Delete? I have this posted at another forum [url]but have not been able to find a solution (a copy of the file, test. zip is there as well). I am not sure it is possible, or, at least I have been unable to get it working. I can do each, but not both.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use a lot of VLOOKUP formulae in the sheets i put together and, despite both the lookup value and table array being in the same format (usually text format), i often get an #N/A being returned.
Here's the fun part... if i then do something simple like access the lookup value cell (either by double clicking or pressing F2) and then hit return, then the vlookup calculation suddenly returns the correct value.
I'm convinced it's something to do with the way the cells are formatted but can't work out what.
What would be the correct mathematical terminology for the following:
I have a pool of 100 people and I am tracking their hours worked.
I want to present the % of people that fall in to the 3 largest categories
E.G.:
00:00 - 25:00 = 5
25:01 - 50:00 = 10
50:01 - 75:00 = 15
75:01 - 100:00 = 25
100:01 - 125:00 = 15
125:01 - 150:00 = 10
150:01 - 175:00 = 10
175:01 - 200:00 = 20
In this case the largest groups are:
50:01 - 75:00 = 15
75:01 - 100:00 = 25
100:01 - 125:00 = 15
55% fall in to this bracket.
What we are targeting as a business is that the majority of worker fall in to a similar range each month. So the challenge for my team is to increase the % value month on month. the close to 100% the better they are doing.
Equally what in Excel could I use to automate this calculation.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLooking for some help to figure out what is causing our problem. My friend has created the attached excel sheet in Excel 2003. The issue is that the a vlookup does not seem to be finding the correct line for the value from the lookup table when it is returned twice.
Let me explain - The details are contained in the attached workbook. There are three sheets in the workbook - NH3Curve, Samples and Qvalue table.
On the Samples sheet, in cell C12 and C13 you can enter varying values. Go across to F12 and F13 and you will see that they both have the value 22.1. This is where the issue occurs - in cells G12 and G13 the lookup value should be the same - but it is not. G12 is actually returning the value for 22.0 not 22.1. (lines 173 and 174 on the Qvalue sheet). We cannot ferret out why this is happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sometimes when you look at something you can't see the obvious, so I hope it is that simple.
