In a whole column (starting from CELL H3 to H3000) There will be different dates. Once these dates have passed a whole year I would like the cell to turn red. Ive tried everything I can think of using MS Excel 2010 in conditioning format and formulas but cant find a answer.
Im happy to have a link to another column and just hide that column but for the end product to highlight the date that is 1yr old!
After adding worksheets, data to ranges, etc. I want to step through each worksheet and "Select" or "Activate" a specific cell (Mainly to clear all the range selections).
My code does the job except the second to last part of cell selection/activation.
In Column A each cell will contain a date (differnet from other cells in that column) when inspection was last done.
Column B is when the weekly inspection is due. Column C is when bi-weekly inspection is due. Column D is when monthly inspection is due. Column E is when 6 monthly inspection is due.
I need a formula to change the colour of cells B, C, D & E when each inspection is due depending on the date entered in A
I am hoping its possible that the cell colour can stay for 2 days after the due date and then return back to blank after the second day.
For example if cell A1 has a date of January 1 2013 then on January 8 2013 cell B1 turns red then on January 10 2013 the cell returns back to normal.
A1 B1 C1 D1 E1
Inspection Date Weeekly Due Bi-WeeklyDue Monthly Due 6 Monthly Due
January 1 2013 Change red Jan 8 & return blank Jan 10 Change red Jan 15 & return blank Jan 17 Change red Feb 1 & return blank Feb 3 Change red June 1 & return blank June 3

I have a peice of code that i know is inefficient and it is in danger of becoming too large. I have a spreadsheet that has circles aligned to each cell. There are around 100 in total. The code changes the colour of the shape based on the cell value in which it sits. However, the code needs changing and also it does not automatically update the colour shape even though the cell value changes. I have to manually select a cell and then the formula bar and then press return for it to update.
I am using excel 2010.
This is the code i am using for each shape.
Code: If Range("n12").Value = text Then ActiveSheet.Shapes("Oval 250").Fill.ForeColor.RGB = RGB(255, 255, 255) End If
I wish to select all the cells which contain the word " Available " in column A at once . But i didn't find any option to do so using excel's Go TO Special feature.
I have a table in columns C:J, starting in row 7. I have a macro that selects and copies the whole table (after I filter the table) and pastes to another sheet. Recently I've realized that I can only copy/paste C:I or it will mess up my formulas during the process.
This is the code I have right now, which works beautifully for the whole table:
What I need is to know how to copy everything in the table except column J. I can't just copy a certain range cells because the number of rows is variable. There has to be a way to modify the ActiveSheet.ListObjects("Table36") right?
I have a spreadsheet with two date/time columns 'Date1' & 'Date2'. Each date/time column has its own column with corresponding values ('Var1' & 'Var2'). These dates cover the same time period, however values for 'Var2' were collected less frequently than 'Var1'. I want ONLY the values in 'Var1' that correspond to the dates in 'Date2'
I am trying to select values from one column 'Var1' which have correlating date/time in column 'Date1' that match the dates specified in 'Date2'. Basically I need the values from 'Var1' that match the same date/time as 'Var2'
I have a database of names in one column in excel 2010 and over time I have coloured the text of some of the names green to show that they have been added to a new online database. I want to be able to count how many of the names have been coloured so I can see if it matches with the total number already added on to the online database. I have over 800 entries so I don't want to have to manually count them unless I find I have missed any. Conditional Formatting is greyed out (it is a Shared document so that might be why).
in creating an IF (text is a certain colour) THEN 1, 0 or any others ways I can find the total in that colour. I only have two text colours in my spread sheet, black and light green.
A macro that only selects cells which are coloured light green. I need this so that I can add it to an existing macro that I've written to remove conditional formatting from these cells only.
I have a large spread sheet with cells that have manually been coloured - Red, Green, Blue, Yellow according to data throughout sheet. I want to conditionally format these cells instead of the manual work that has been done previously, so i was thinking if i could assign a value based on the current cell colour, then paste special and wipe the current colour scheme i would be able to conditionally format based on the new numeric data and colour code accordingly.
I work for a UK charity and have a list of funders in an Excel 2007 spreadsheet.
One of the columns refers to the date on which a new application for funding can be made to that particular funder.
In many cases new applications for funding can't be made for 1 or more years since the last application - sometimes as many as 5 years later. How to get a cell to refer to the date that it contains.
For example, say I have in cell A1 "The Acme Funding Organisation" and in cell B1 (i.e. the "Reapply when?" column) a date of 01/04/2013 (British date format, i.e. 1 April 2013) then what I want Excel to do is to look at the date in cell B1 and if that date has been reached to highlight the cell red. That way I'll know that the reapply date has been reached & that a new application can be made.
I would like the following to occur in an excel spreadhsheet:
If in Sheet1 Cell M98 is manually highlighted in Yellow (Not conditional format) then on sheet 2 cell range M84:M76 will also be highlighted in the same colour.
Cell M98 colour will only either be blank (no fill) or Yellow. If M98 is blank then the cell range M84:M76 would also be blank.
I am creating a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel 2007 which holds information about the airline Emirates which I have created using information from the internet. I am currently creating a sheet which has all their flights in and holds information about the departure time and arrival time of the flight and the type of aircraft ect. I am wondering if there is anyway in being able to have the cell which has the flight number in to change colour (Green or Red) if the flight is in the air or not by using the departure and arrival times already set on the sheet. I am wondering if you possibly need to have a live time on the sheet so that it can work with that .....
A column of cells can be 1o different shades of green according to their value (achieved by using conditional formatting.) I want to arrange that at a certain time all the cells of a part of the row of a formatted cell are the same colour.
On one of our computers at work, Excel is acting especially strange. The conditional formatting in Excel on one of our computers is not working. In addition, we cannot fill a cell with any color or change the color of the writing. We can click a color for the letters and type it in, but immediately after another cell is highlighted, the writing goes black again. When we try to highlight multiple cells with the cursor, the cells are black instead of the normal color. This happens to not just spreadsheets that are new, but existing spreadsheets on our shared drive from only this one computer as well. No other computers are affected this way. All other computers show the spreadsheets fine and do not have any functionality issues.
I have created a macro in excel 2010 which enable the file to save (extract) data into separate location and name. The vba code for macro is as follows: Question: How can I save this workbook with reference to the value containing in cell B2? (it is named temporary now - as defined in the code)
When I use the mouse pointer to select a cell I can't use the arrow keys to move to another cell while the pointer is over the cell and I can't edit the cell while the pointer is over the cell. If I move the pointer away from the cell then I can move around and edit as normal therefore I don't think this is a scroll lock issue.
This issue also happens when I select a tab. If I select a tab and then leave the pointer over the tab I selected then I can't use the arrow keys to move around the worksheet or edit a cell; if I move the pointer away from the cell then I can move around and edit as normal.
I have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet consisting of many worksheets (20 or so). Each of these worksheets contain detail level data regarding different projects. One of the columns in these worksheets is the 'Status' column (column F). There is conditional formatting on this column where if the text is 'G' then change background to a green color, 'Y'=yellow, 'R'=Red and 'U'=Grey.
The first worksheet is a summary sheet that I would like to pull information from each of the detail worksheet's columns B, D, E, G and H if the status column (Column F) is 'R' or 'Y'.
The number of rows in the detail worksheet can change each week (as few as 0 and as many as 100)
I have a range of cells each containing a name. Based on a number that has to be entered manually I want excel to return the names concatenated in one cell. So for example:
Number of variable entered: 5
q9001 q9002 q9003 q9004 q9005 q9006 etc.
Should give me: "q9001 q9002 q9003 q9004 q9005"
I have been trying to work with formulas using IF and CONCAT functions. But so far I haven't figured out how to have excel return me the correct amount of variables for each separate number that can be entered seeing the number of variables entered can vary from 1 up to 50.
Formula that will repeat a cell number as it drags down and as soon as the number changes. I am using helper column that shows the cell number. I need to drag this down about 1000 rows.
In my worksheet I have 'Column A' and 'Column B', In 'Column A' are product I.D. numbers. In 'Column B' is a text description of the product, whose I.D. number is in 'Column A,' and should also contain the I.D. number from 'Column A' somewhere in the midst of the descriptive text. However, some of these in 'Column B' do not.
I need to create a function that looks for the value in 'Column A' and determines whether or not it is present in the text of 'Column B'. Therefore, spitting the answer out in 'Column C' so that I can copy it down for 100,000 cells.
