I have used this formula to extract the date portion, but I can't get this to then format as date. How do I convert this to the julian date, so I can then apply a date format?

(The day portion of this date always has a leading zero).

I actually wanted to get a future date using a Dynamic two day off as my the offs keep on changing as well as incorporate Holidays and Leaves if any..
Now Holidays would be official Public Holidays and
Leaves would be taken by the employee..
The code needs to pick the Leaves + Holidays and different offs maybe even more than 2 offs...
I have a table of data (total 142 rows). Column contains dates, in the format dd-mmm-yyyy.
I tried to filter using DATE FILTERS->EQUALS and in the custom filter window, I chose EQUALS then picked a date from the date picker icon. The date I picked was 5/4/2009 (this is May 4, 2009, formatted automaticall by excel as m/d/yyyy).
When I clicked OK, nothing showed up despite the fact that there are 6 occurences of May 4, 2009 (formatted as dd-mmm-yyyy in the data table)
So my questions are:
1. Is this due to the formatting?
2. Is there a way to change the date format supplied by the date picker?
I am now trying to create a excel macro to auto populate all the dates with reference to a start date and end date. The catch is that only working days are required in the range. My reference cells (start and end date) are in Sheet 1 while the destination cell range are in Sheet 2. The reason for creating a macro instead of a function is that the intervals between the start date and end date changes frequently (annual, semi-annual and quarterly) Best case scenario would be a button which I can just press after i input the dates to generate the range of dates in another sheet.

I have a data field of about 2000 rows & 30 columns.
These contain records on accidents for 56 offices.
One of the columns contains the date an individual had the accident.
There can be a number of records for each office as there are a number of employees in each office who have had accidents over the last few years.
I need to be able to run a macro or set up filters or formulae to show the row containing the most recent accidentin each office, by office. I also need to display the total number of days since the last accident occurred at the end of each row.
The offices are listed in Column B & the date of the last accident is listed in Column V.
If I have a row full of dates and I want to find the most recent date, how do I do that?

Example
Initial Date :- 1st of January 2014
Frequency :- every 5 weeks
Current Date :- 9th of March 2014
Next Due date should be :-12th of March 2014 (if I worked it out correctly from my paper calendar)
I want to use a cell formula to do this for different initial dates and varying frequency periods (the frequency will always be whole weeks i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,10)
I need to create formulas that reference a single date and output date ranges. The objective is to have a person input a Monday date in any given month and receive a four weeks out worth of dates and ranges. For example: In a lone cell, the person inputs 10/13/08. Automatically, the sheet produces the next full week range: October 19 – October 25 in a single cell and also produces a cell for each date. Example: Sunday 19, Monday 20, Tuesday 21, etc…. It should look like:
Monday Date:
10/13/08
October 19 – October 25
Sunday 19
Monday 20
Tuesday 21
Wednesday 22
Thursday 23
Friday 24
Saturday 25
and then repeat for three more weeks. I thought I had it figured out until the month changed. The dates continued in October instead of adding a month. This report will be ran weekly, so simply adding a +1MONTH to some cells will not benefit me as I’ll have to change the formula every week. I want the formula to compute the data without any manipulation over the next several years. The only change will be the Monday date.
I have data going in to a small table which has some empty rows as that data is not yet available... My problem is, I need to sort this table in date order but with the date nearest to today's date at the top...
The sort function puts oldest at the top or oldest at the bottom which is no good for what I need...

For example, in the attached, I have a Customer and Deal Date list, for Customer A, there are 3 dates, but I only want the latest date: 2/14/2014.
I've attached a quick sample, I have two customer ID's, AB1 and AB2, I want to be able to put a formula into column C that will return the latest date for each customer. So AB1 will show 01/04/2013 and AB2 will show 01/05/2013. I know I can use a MAX formula but I don't know how to connect it to the specific customer ID.

I have a spreadsheet which contacts three columns of dates, the problem I have is that there are not dates in every column.
What I would like to do is to have a fourth column which shows the latest date from the three previous columns.
I need a macro that can jump to the nearest current date in column B from anywhere on the current tab. all the dates are in 10/09/2009 format, and the actual date of today might not be in that column. This can be + or -1 one day search from today. After this macro run's the nearest current date will be the active selected cell in column B.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use a function to search for a particluar value (e.g., ssn) in one column and return the "InDate" in another column. I thought this would be easy, but I'm having considerable trouble. When I do manage to get a value returned, it's the wrong value. I need to return the most recent "InDate" for the ssn that I search for. The button on the " Lookup" sheet is to sort the InDate column descending so that the Excel function will start with the most recent date when it searches. I've tried Lookup and and just about every other similar function with no luck. I originally wanted to search for a ssn and return the information for the last 5-10 most recent visits, but gave up on that long ago.

For example: In my sample workbook, the earliest date for all the columns with ID = 1 should return 11/1/2001 and the latest date should be 12/2/2011. If all the dates for a particular ID are the same, it should just return that date. For example, for ID = 2, all dates are 5/5/2010 so the earliest and latest dates should equal 5/5/2010. I have a spreadsheet which has a list of properties with a list of survey dates. The complication is that every property has multiple surveys and these are all on separate lines with the spreadsheet. The number of surveys could also be different depending on the property in question.
What I would like to do is to compile a report which only shows me when the latest particular type of survey (there are five types of survey, I'll call them 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5).
The survey type is shown in column C, the property is shown in column A and the survey date is shown in column F.

I have manged to search for the last updated file on a folder but i want to use the filename as the source for a copy and paste. it all seems to work bar the linking of the 2 processes the error message 'run time error 9 subscript out of range' is the file is already open should it just not use the same variable to copy the files?

I have a "activity log" sheet which records the date in column A, the activity in column C and the name of the customer that was contacted in column D. There may be multiple entries of a customer's name in column D.
In a separate sheet, I want to find the latest date from the "activity log" sheet that a each customer was contacted and the specific action on that date. In this sheet, the client name will be in column A, and I want to record the last contact date for the client in the same row in column J and the type of contact in column K.
