Formula Overtype Highlight

I'm working, on and off, at developing an order/invoice system using excel.
The orders are being summed and, providing the data is entered correctly , all is well.
I'm sure you can tell from the that the old human error element is creeping in. Therefore, on occasion, users will have to overtype the formula to correct the errors... this will be able to be resolved the following month when the order is corrected.. but...
:?: Question - what is the least resource hungry way of formatting ( italics, shading .. whatever ) a range of columns so that those cells that have been overtyped are shown.. to ensure users know its been done and can remove and return to formula next month.

If a user enters text into row "T" that contains "QIN" can conditional formatting highlight the cell in row N a solid colour if no numbers have been entered? As a reminder to users..

I have a large spreadsheet with many pieces of equipment in it. There are a few piece that I would like to highlight should thier computer license go out of date, or even better 30 days prior. I have a Feild with the Expire dates but it is at the end of the spreadsheet not in plain sight. Is there a way to make my Equipment description column highlight when the date in the other column reaches the current date (or 30 Days before). I have cut and pasted the part of the spreadsheet into a new file to make it easier to read and hid all the none important feilds.

I have three workers for which I am counting the data from using a countas formula. The cells are A1,B1,C1 and I want to highlight in another formula to the right if these three values do not equal each other, I have tried and if formula referencing each of the combinations of the compares however it does not work in the desired fashion.

im trying to get a cell to highlight a hyperlink based on the following formula
if(isnumber(search("t50", d7)), "correct", "this is where i want hyperlink to display")
basically im taking input from a cell entered by user ie if t50 is entered then its correct thats displayed, else i want to enter a hyperlink!

Normally when you double-click on a formula you see its component cells highlighted.
But when I do this with a formula that uses cells from different worksheets NO cells are highlighted.
I wonder if anyone knows how to get the highlighting working for such formulas. Or is there an add-on which enables this?

I have attached a file which shows some cells which start with "p" and then a number and some have the same but with the word " total" in them.
I would like to run a formula in the column next to it which will highlight which cells have that word in order that I can data sort a large file and delete the totals.
I think it will be an IF formula on cells that contain criteria.

I have a spreadsheet with two worksheets (sheet 1 and 2). Sheet 1 has all the current employee data on it e.g. employee number, Forename, Surname, Address, Pay rate, etc. Sheet 2 was last month's employee data in the same format. I want to compare the two worksheets on worksheet 3 and highlight any changes or just put the changes on worksheet 3 (this would be better).
The problem is employees might be on different rows on each worksheet and some employees might not be on one spreadsheet due to staff leaving and starting.
Each staff member has a unique employee number to identify them. So I need a formula that matches the employee number and then looks in the cells in sheet 1 and 2 and if different puts the value in sheet 1 into the cell in sheet 3.

I've been asked to assist with modifications of an excel spreadsheet. One of the features is a column that has a formula of what the total order should be. For example, 1 base order of 25.00, plus 1 bonus order of 18.00, plus 2 bonus orders of 15.00 would be $73.00 due. Then data entry persons enter the actual amount collected. Is there a way to highlight either the cell or the result if the amount collected does not equal the amount due? I know I can accomplish this with another column, but they want to keep the columns to a minimum.
This is for a non-profit agency and the orders are now at 1000 that must be entered within a day or two period, so they want to keep the fields to a minimum so as to make the entry easier for those doing the input. And they would like the data entry person to see an immediate flag if what he or she enters as collected does not equal what is due.

I need conditional format in column Q which highlight in red, any date over 14 days old.
This column also contains texts (non-dates) and these need to be left alone.
I've experimented with a few bits of formula I've found online, but nothing has worked . .

I have a file where the cells are all formulas.
Employees are able to key in a number instead of using the number derived from the formula.
I want the cell to use conditional formatting without the use of macros, so it will highlight yellow if the cell is keyed in instead of a formula.
Is this possible? I have tried numerous things, but none seem to work.
Example:
Cell A6 has the number 24,248 derived from a formula.
Employee thinks the number should be 30,000 and keys that number in.
If it is 24,248, I want the number to have no fill, but if it is a keyed in number, I want it to be highlighted.

I'm trying to find ways of applying a formula in condition formatting to find entries which don't follow a certain format.
to be clear, this is for a reg plate of a car. There are two styles of formats. The X's represent A-Z and # represents numerical values
1. XX##XXX
2. XX####
find a way of applying two test cases (non-simultaneously) so that cells highlight if they don't follow either of the above conditions?

I am using excel 2003 and I am looking for a formula that will highlight duplicate cells and change the cell to red.
Unlike newer versions that have duplicate cells within the formatting tool, appears that 03 doesnt.
Also I am looking for a formula that will highlight blue a date cell when the date arrives.

I am trying to write a macro which highlights all the cells with any reference to other cell. The macro should highlight a cell with formula like = 3 * A25 but not highlight a cell with following formula. = 3 * 0.4535566. 'Hasformula' property is not useful here as it can't distinguish between above examples.

In a workbook. I have a cell with a hyperlink to different sheet in the same workbook.
I want to make it so, that when someone clicks on the hyperlink and is taken to the cell on the sheet i linked to, that the whole row of data highlights.
The highlight can only be turned on when someone clicks the hyperlink.
Does this require VBA script?
I am using Excel 2003.

I have a spredsheet with names going down column A and then a lot of data in the next 20 columns. It is sometime a challenge to see for which name the data is associated with becuase I have to look across a long row...

I need a code that will highlight every other row in a some color.
I would like the macro to start in row 7 and use column A as a reference to know when to stop (last populated row in column A is where it needs to stop).
The rows that get highlighted can all get highlighted in the same color, and the entire row can be highlighted.
The twist to this is that there are hidden rows in the range and I want the macro to disregard those.

I am editing a fairly sizeable name, address list and I would like the row highlight bar to extend across the page. For instance, when I click on the row number the highlight bar extends across the row, but when I hit return the highlight disappears and I have to click row by row. I would like the highlight bar to extend across a row and then move up or down with the arrow keys.

I would like a way to use conditional formatting to highlight percentages that are over 50%. The problem is that I have other numbers in the same column that are not percentages but I would like to ignore them for highlighting purposes? Can this be done without sorting the columns?

345- ignore

I have a value in cell B23. I C23 & C23 is blank and numbers 0 to 18 is in cells E23 to U23I. I need VBA code that hightlights the row up to the value as indicated in B23. For example: B34 contains 4, the code should highlight the two blank cells up to cell J23.
