Is there a way to avoid a textbox value from being entered into the same cell on a worksheet more than once.
I am building a BOL(Bill Of Lading) wizard. Within the userform the end user will input the part numbers and quantities to be shipped... it also has a textbox that will hold the PO number that each part belongs to. I have a command button that says Add to Pallet 1. Pallet 1 will be on a row by itself on the excel sheet. Parts belonging to different PO#'s can be on this 1 pallet. When the end user clicks the "add to pallet1" button... the PO textbox (textbox6) value will be sent to (Sheet3) Cell I28. If, for example, PO# 12345 has already been added to (sheet3) Cell I28 and then the end user plugs it in again, i would like for it to be discarded and a message box stating this PO Number has already been accounted for...
so you get a better understanding...
Qty's... part numbers and PO#'s for Pallet 1 will be on row 28. Multiple PO#'s will fit into Cell I28 seperated by spaces and i will do wrap text.

I have a range (offset based) which may increase by rows or columns whenever necessary.
In that I have data table like this:

In the above table I want to enter in another column or row, a number which is not available in the given table (i.e. no duplication is allowed). (This table may grow both column & row wise). If, duplication is there the message box should say that the value already exist. And, if possible, the existing value can be colored with any color, so that we can easily find out where it is.
1) how to name a offset table and
2) how to avoid duplicate value when entered? Is data validation is one solution?

Is there a formula that will add a number, in sequence, to the end of a text string to avoid duplicates?
I need to generate an ID number for transactions. This ID number is the Account Code-Last Two #s of the Year-Unique 3-Digit Number. So for instance, 5022-14-001 means it is the first transaction from account 5022 in the year 2014.
Column A has the Account Codes. Column B has the date of the transaction in MM/DD/YYYY format. So far the formula I have is:
=CONCATENATE(A1,"-",RIGHT(YEAR(B2),2),"-",TEXT(????,"000"))
With ???? being some function or set of nesting functions I need to create the sequential number. It needs to be able to say "Okay, this is the third instance of there being a 5022-14, so we need to stick -003 at the end of this."
Additionally, this "003" needs to be frozen, so if we change how the sheet is sorted and the line item moves around, it will still always be "003".

I have done a measurement with the labview programm and I have saved it in a txt file, but I need to open it with excel to finish my work. When I open it with excel the time column shows the time that each measurement was taken, like the time in a digital clock. I need to change that form to appear the time between 2 measurements (Δt) in milliseconds (which of course has to be the same Δt every time). I've been told that I can change that, but I don't know how...

If the time is not less than 0.001 seconds, then multiply it by 1000, and express it in milliseconds. Otherwise: If the time is not less than 0.000001 seconds, then multiply it by 1000000, and express it in microseconds. Otherwise: multiply it by 1000000000, and express it in nanoseconds and this all has to go in a chart like this one. I was wondering what the code would be to get this

My challenge is discovering the difference in time between two rows of data that is imported with milliseconds in the time slot. In my example below I would like to see how I can subtract the time listed in line 4 from line 3 (11:18:59.566 - 11:18:59.550). When I try now I get either 1.85185E-07 or 00:00.0 or 0.000000 depending how the cell is formatted.

I am using a VBA macro (Using mouse clicks as inputs for neuroscience experiment?).
What the macro does is it inputs a timestamp every time a keyboard combination is used (alt+right arrow in this case).
The part of the macro which inputs the timestamp is like this:

I would like the timestamp to be displayed as HH:MM:SS.00, i.e. show the milliseconds. I tried playing around with the timestamp format (changing it to = Format(Now, "HH:MM:SS.00" or = Format(Now, "HH:MM:SS.0;@")) or = Format(Now, "MM:SS.000") and I tried using = Evaluate("=NOW()") instead of = Format(Now, "HH:MM:SS".

What I am trying to do is have a macro that do a comparison between 2 cells every 100 milliseconds. One of the cell is constant updating from RTD (Real Time Data). And if its false, to nothing. However if true, I would want it to run some codes and exit the macro/procedure. I also need some way of stopping the macro at any time.

In short, I would like a pivot table to only count unique values, but when I click into the pivot I would like to show all instances of that value. For example:
I have a table of data that I am creating a pivot table from. There are fields for Customer ID, Task Name, Age, and Notes. There will be multiple records for a single Customer ID each time it has new notes.
I would like to create a pivot table that has Task Name in the Row Labels, Age in the Column Labels, and count of Customer ID in the Values, so that, for example, I can see how many accounts have been in the Design task for 2 days. However, when I do this it counts each record, but I would like it to count each unique Customer ID. Also, when I click into the pivot, instead of pulling up one line per Customer ID, I would like it to pull up each instance of Customer IDs in that Task Name/Age combination (similar to doing a DISTINCT in SQL).

I have a list of isometric drawing numbers ending with a [underscore]weld number e.g. 1692-SG-0040-04_05.
Some welds are repaired--in that scenario the amended weld number will be 1692-SG-0040-04_05R1, and even 1692-SG-0040-04_05R2 if repaired for a second time.
On occasion a weld may be cut out entirely and a new weld done. The weld number for that will be 6317-FG-1690-02_06C1.
And here's a wrinkle I've just verified...a cut weld may also be repaired so the weld number will look like 1698-SG-0077-01_04C1R1.
Is there a formula to count these as one weld:
1692-SG-0040-04_05
1692-SG-0040-04_05R1
1692-SG-0040-04_05R2
This as one weld:
6317-FG-1690-02_06
6317-FG-1690-02_06C1
6317-FG-1690-02_06C2
...and this as one weld:

I am having trouble creating a function to count duplicates of duplicates.
An example of the data table 1 is:

I created a new table (table 2) and made a list of all the Products on table 1 and removed the duplicates. I now have 3 columns with titles New, 2nd and Flt as follows:

Product 1 XX XX XX
Product 2 XX XX XX
Product 3 XX XX XX
I am trying to count the duplicates for each product (XX), but I can't seem to work it out. I've tried the MS help function, but unsure of the actual formula I need to be using.
I am using Windows 7 and MS Office 2010.

I'm havin' a chart for interest, instalments and so on;
Interest [X%] Loan [Z crowns/dollars]
Loantime [Y years] Instalment [formula, which is "=Z/Y/12"]for each month.
Year, Month, Loan(left), Instalment, Total payment
1, Januari, =Z, =Instalment (constant), =Interest+Instalment
Month, Loan(left), Interest
Februari, =above-Instalment, =X%*Loan(left)/12 (rent is divided per year),
Instalment, Total payment
Constant, =rent+Instalment
and so on... as long as you want ^^ (it's quite messy, but try :D)
The question is as follows "What would a loan of 900'000kr with 9% interest rate totally cost over 30 years?"
[use "IF" to avoid getting anything written after the loan expires]
The question itself can be easily solved by just dragging the formulas down to 30 years and fill in the % and loan etc. But what I do not understand is the "IF" question. I'm supposed to use the IF function to instantly show the cost of the loan (total rent payment) after the 30 years? That's how I understood it. In that case... how do I do that? ^^

I know how to avoid getting the #N/A in a vlookup, but I have found situations where I have data matches and still get #N/A. For instance, I am looking up an item number (which contains numbers and letters) on one tab to find corresponding info on another tab. I've verified that the item number is indeed in the lookup range but I still get the #N/A. If I copy and paste the item number over the same item number in the lookup range then it works. However, I don't want to do this for each item number.

"A" is a duplicated rep field and "B" is unique rep IDs and "C" is a sum of product types purchased. I'm averaging the number of product types sold by each rep.
I need to modify it to remove the #DIV/0! error it generates. It calculates just fine by row (with the error on some rows), but when I use that calculated field as an element in another formula, the #DIV/0! blows up the second formula. I tried a second IF function tied to the sales field "D" but I don't think I nested it right.

Transferring Multiple Data from separate worksheet without duplicating"
As you can see i am looking for information in column d (Letter) and getting the result to show from column B (number) using the formula in Column G (result 1).
The problem i am having is that if i try to copy or drag the formula down into Result 2 i just get the same answer.
Is there any way for the next cell down to ignore the previous result?

I have a formulas in Sheet1 linked to other sheets, but I have only formula and there are no sheets ( eg: in sheet 1 A1 =Data!A1) where as there is no sheet called Data. I have a macro to import this sheets from a different file.
The problem I am facing is, after importing the sheets, the formula still shows #REF but if I do double click the cell or press F2 and then "Enter" the value appears. I have about 1200 formulas in this sheets.

I have been reading and studying up on everything I can get my hands on with excel, and today I read the golden rules sticky. One of them confused me, so I need to understand, so I can follow it. "Don't Nest 2 Lookups To Avoid #N/A! Allow it to Occur and Reference Like: =IF(ISNA(A1),0,A1) and Hide the Lookup Column." I need cells to be empty instead of returning #N/A! So I nested using the ISNA. I do not understand the formula example above and hiding the lookup column. Also I really need the cell to be empty if nothing has been entered in I8 or J8, but right now it returns FALSE. For what I am doing, it is important that the cell is empty if no data can be found.

in column E i need to add a formula:

And i would be extending it to the rows below.
Now, obviously, if C2 contains a 0, it gives a divide by 0 error. How to modify the formula which makes it valid only if C2!=0(not equal to 0)

When I click a button on a Sheet, Certain data is copied from another sheet and paste in active sheet. While this action is taken place, whole sheet is refreshed and the image and a data is blinking for a second.
