I am plotting an excel scatter plot with x-axis as the date. What I have done is created a macro that automatically does this but what I would like to incorporate is the ability to choose the lowest date and highest date as the min x and max x for my graph automatically.

2) Is it possible to have the numbers on x-axis in descending order? If I can figure out 1), I can do this as well, but it would be nice to know if it is possible to have the numbers on x-axis in descending order.
I am trying to use the following for my x-axis on a scatter plot. Excel is either formatting it into another type, or showing me day by day 0:00 time.
Is this an impossible mission? Below is how my data comes to me, I have no control over modifying it.

I have a 2 groups of column headings with a different month and year in each heading so
1st Group of columns range
Columns AJ through AX
Column Heading example "Expense Ratio February 2013......next Column over is "Expense Ratio March 2013"
2nd Group of columns range AY though CE
Column Heading example "Capital Balance February 2013......next Column over is "Capital Balance March 2013"
Each new month I need to add a new Expense Ratio column after the most recent expense ratio Column. (i.e. Find "Expense Ratio March 2013" and I need to add a column after that with heading "Expense Ratio April 2013"
Same thing for Capital Balance - add a new Capital Balance column after the most recent Capital Balance Column. (i.e. Find "Capital Balance March 2013" and I need to add a column after that for "Expense Ratio April 2013"
Because the ranges keep changing month over month, how do i do this.
Col C = Text and Col F = dates
I would like to count the # of times a value occurs in Col C based on a date
range in Col F.
I have a formula that counts if a date range is present. However I need to change it to count another column only if that date range is present. For example a17 a50000 the user will enter the date of the order. and in column B has the order number. I want the formula to count the order numbers for a data range in column A.
Here is what I have but it is counting the dates in col A not the order numbers in B?
I am trying to Count (or counta?) cells in one column if they have data but only if within a date range in another column.
So, in the example below, I would want to count how many cells in column E have data in them, but only if the date in column A falls between Jan 1 2014 and Jan 5 2014. (In this case, result should be 4).

There's the Major/Minor Units on the Axis Options screen but I cannot type in a constant number since the number of days for each month is different.
I have a spreadsheet with golfers handicaps, golfers names down the left in column A in rows 3-35. Row 2 has the event numbers titles 1 to 18 (18 events in a year). i need a graph that has the person as the vert axis and the horizontal axis needs to be the event numbers, so i can read down for the person and across to see how there handicaps change from each different event. i have attached the data below.

The category (x) axis title should be horizontal, whereas the value (y) axis title should be rotated. Stepping through the code, when I .SetElement for the category axis title, it appears horizontal as planned. However, as soon as I .SetElement for the rotated value axis title, the category axis title also rotates.
I'm still confused regarding a complex formula - rather n00b. Using Office 2007 with XP. Can't figure out with help or previous questions.

I have some numeric data that has to be put on a log chart. but there is no option for log charts. so i converted my data to log and then drew a chart but i am unable to edit the axis intervals and starting axis value. whenever i change the value it gets back to its default value,ie 1. can anyone tell me how to draw log chart or how to edit axis intervals and starting axis value?

Pressure ( PSIA) Solubility (mol %) Velocity (m/s)

I need the two x axis to be pressure and solubility and the y axis to be velocity, with the data being demonstrated by a single plot (I have only managed it with two plots which does not demonstrate solubility's relationship to pressure ).
For example at a pressure of 200 PSIA (lower x-axis) and solubility of 0.024 mol % (upper x-axis) velocity was found to be 1 m/s.
I am trying to create a column chart/graph with "Days Past Due" on the x-axis and "Quantity" on the y-axis. In other words, data from one column needs to make up the x-axis and data from another the y-axis where the bars will rise to meet that quantity. I was wondering if this is possible. I have not been able to find a way to make it work so far. I know there is a way to do it for a line graph through XY scatter, but I need a column chart.

I've got my chart looking most of the way I want it to, but one thing still eludes me: I'd like to set up the major axis ticks to be quarters of the year (from 1/1/2011 to 4/1/2013). Since quarters are not regular intervals (they are not exactly every 90 days), I can't do this using Excel's standard functionality for choosing axis tick marks.

I have several countries in which i gathered information about their (expected) population sizes over time (2003 - 2011). For each country i want to make a chart in which their population size is shown over time. In order to compare these countries i want these charts all having the same y-axis scale (which expresses the population size). To be able to do this i want to put some gaps in the y-axis. I think i need 2 gaps because i can divide the countries in "low population" countries (2-3 million), "moderate population" countries (7-14 million) and "high population" countries (> 30 million). I attached a sample file to make things more clear! I hope somebody knows more how to do it!

how to incorporate another category and value axis to my existing chart.
1. I need to add a rank axis derived from my data column (C6-C15). This column should rank from highest to lowest and create a tie if any number is repeated. I have arranged the rank column in cells B38:L38 as they would appear. I would like this to appear on the top or bottom of the bar graphs.
2. Second I need to add the frequency of hits which = 3 derived from cell J1 This should appear on the chart were it is currently titled. This should create another bar graph colored green and labeled 3.
3. Lastly the numbers axis can remain the same as it appears on the chart or if it would be better to align as shown in cells B43:L43.
What is the best way to have both horizontal and vertical axis as value axis?

I have created a chart but for some reason rather than the names appearing there are numbers. I did the chart successfully and then removed the data so that I could input another team's results and this happened.

What I'm looking to do, is look through all of column A, find all entries between a certain date (ie Nov 1 07 - Nov 30 07), and sum all the values in column B that correspond those fields, as long as the value is greater than zero or not blank.
So, for example,

I would need the formula to return 7
I am trying to put together a formula to allow me to count the number of occurances dates within a month in a column.
So far I have tried
=COUNTIF(F4:F500,DATE(2011,10,9)) but it only lets me search for the 9th of October (when I want to count all dates specified in october.
Is there any other way I can search (count) a range for dates in October 2011 only?
