I am trying to take a large spreadsheet with 2000+ rows of data each with its on unique date associated with each row (its a dump of invoices that need to get paid). I need to count how many invoices are each of the seperate 52 weeks of the last year using I believe a Countif function. My problem is I cannot seem to get the criteria written correctly. For example I want to count out of the 2000+ rows of data, how many invoice dates fall between say, Jan 1 and Jan 7. I would think it would be as easy as using the Countif function and then writing the criteria as a forumula to count invoices that have a date that is greater than or equal to Jan 1 BUT less than or equal to Jan 7. It is that precise formula that is giving me much frustration.
I have a similar Sumif forumula problem as I need to total the $ of the invoices but I think if I get the criteria to work for Countif it will work for Sumif.
I have a start date column and column for status. Status is either "in-progress" or "complete". I want to count the number of "complete" items that fall within a specific date range. I have tried countif but I can only seem to get a count of all items that fall between the date range. I do not want a pivot table for this.
I have 2 columns, one containing a piece of data and one containing dates. I want to count how many times the data is in the first column, based on a specific date range in the 2nd column. I have attached a sample SSF with a better explanation inside it.
I have a workbook which contains 1 spreadsheet that contains data entry for approximately 20 employees. The workbook then contains a separate sheet for each employee to display the detailed information
Column A stores the dates from Jan1 to Dec 31 Row 1 contains the employees names. The data entered consists of approximatle 4 different 1-letter codes as to what transaction occurred that particular day.
What I would like to do now is be able to count the number of cells that contain a code for 2 different time periods. I would like for it to count 2 weeks ago and separately count 2 weeks in the future.
In trying to get this last calculation, I've added a column for WEEKNUM next to the date (column B) and used somethign along the lines of =CountIF(C2:c366,Weeknum(Now()-2)) and also tried +2. Neither have worked.
The attached spreadsheet has a "master" workesheet in which I enter customer info, salesperson info, and date. The totals spreadsheet automatically calculates number of sales, contact value.
I need to modify the following formulas to only calculate the data within a date range shown in 2 cells.
I have a 2 groups of column headings with a different month and year in each heading so
1st Group of columns range Columns AJ through AX Column Heading example "Expense Ratio February 2013......next Column over is "Expense Ratio March 2013"
2nd Group of columns range AY though CE Column Heading example "Capital Balance February 2013......next Column over is "Capital Balance March 2013"
Each new month I need to add a new Expense Ratio column after the most recent expense ratio Column. (i.e. Find "Expense Ratio March 2013" and I need to add a column after that with heading "Expense Ratio April 2013"
Same thing for Capital Balance - add a new Capital Balance column after the most recent Capital Balance Column. (i.e. Find "Capital Balance March 2013" and I need to add a column after that for "Expense Ratio April 2013"
Because the ranges keep changing month over month, how do i do this.
I have a formula that counts if a date range is present. However I need to change it to count another column only if that date range is present. For example a17 a50000 the user will enter the date of the order. and in column B has the order number. I want the formula to count the order numbers for a data range in column A. Here is what I have but it is counting the dates in col A not the order numbers in B?
I am trying to Count (or counta?) cells in one column if they have data but only if within a date range in another column.
So, in the example below, I would want to count how many cells in column E have data in them, but only if the date in column A falls between Jan 1 2014 and Jan 5 2014. (In this case, result should be 4).
I am trying to create an array formula which confirms whether a specific date falls within a list of date ranges. I have a list of start dates in column A and end dates in column B. Each row represents a date range. How can I write an array formula to check if a date falls within any of these data sets (i.e. date ranges)? I have attached a sample spreadsheet to show
I'm still confused regarding a complex formula - rather n00b. Using Office 2007 with XP. Can't figure out with help or previous questions.
The following is what I would like this formula to accomplish. Picture included below.
Take all the values of column of C and add them together if and only if the corresponding date value in column A is during the month of January (and February, March, and so forth).
I'm working on a worksheet that has dates in one column (column A), and numbers in another column (column B). What I'm looking to do, is look through all of column A, find all entries between a certain date (ie Nov 1 07 - Nov 30 07), and sum all the values in column B that correspond those fields, as long as the value is greater than zero or not blank.
I am plotting an excel scatter plot with x-axis as the date. What I have done is created a macro that automatically does this but what I would like to incorporate is the ability to choose the lowest date and highest date as the min x and max x for my graph automatically.
I am trying to add some functionality to a spreadsheet that I manage. Basically i have a small team, and each week I ask them to update a spreadsheet to show what they have been working on in that week. In order to monitor who is going in and updating their entry I would like to add a column that shows me when the last update was for each team member. I have seen this example but it only returns a date based on one cell as opposed to the whole row (or range of cells) Auto populate the date and time a cell was updated. I have attached an example.
In date: i have put a advanced filter with unique records. I would like to find a formula that counts howmany times that that date accurs in the first colom I tried with a countif but you can't put a cell valume in it. i thougth something like this: =countif(a:a;"=d") but ofcourse that doesn't work
I am trying to write a formula with some variables passed into it. i want to sum up part of a column based on a date range (i've got the range already).
I have a long (~42,000) list of dates and times (some including zeros). I would like to name these ranges and use a formula to find the last entry in each column. I know the lists will never go over 45,000.
The data is in this format:
1/31/14 23:58:00 1/30/14
[Code]....
The data will not always be consecutive, so I imagine the criteria would be something like (if there were such a thing) "ISDATE" or something of the sort.
How would I write a formula to dynamically calculate the row number of the last date or time in the column? (In this case, it would be 6.)
I want to define a dynamic named range based on the last date in a range (AE4 down). Unfortunately there are gaps in this range where no date is in a cell.
Report X contains 2 relevant columns... E contains the date created for each item, J contains the type of each item - in this case i wish to see how many items '2' there are in the last 30 days
Report X is a daily report copied into the same tab each day - so the data will change every day depending how long each item is still in the system
this formula does work in the example sheet i provided but not in the spreadsheet in which i need it to work!
i also have similar formulas to calculate how many items are present in between 30 and 60 days exist, and how many over 60 days - all return the value "0"
column E containing dates is in the format 01/10/2008 - changed using Ctrl F - replace to amend it from 01.10.2008
I would like to design a macro that can find a value within a cell in a colunm and copy a value in the row then count occurances of that value next time a match in the colunm is found on a different row, but also do this only if the date range in the row is within a specified range. So a multi-critieria search and copy operation.
To explain a little better here is a simplified example of my spread sheet that is in input for the macro.
A B C D E
1 PART NO. date in date out comp1 comp2[code]......
Column A lists the coponents found on the same row as the seach critria, in this example "12-3".
Column B lists the number of occurances of the components. This search is limited to a date range input by the user.
So what I can see is the components replaced and the amount of times replaced on a specific item over a fixed time.
*It is difficult to describe this problem without showing the macro output, but this is just an example for the purpose of explanation.
I know a bit of VBA programming and initially I started with an input box that asks for the part number and limit dates.
i have a sheet for monitoring sickness. i have used a macro before which automatically selects a range and emails it to recipients when i press a button. what i would like to do is have excel automatically choose the range for me based on today's day. in the attached example i would like column "A" copied along with the 5 columns before today's date, today's date column and also the 5 columns after today's date. paste the lot into an email and send. (i have highlghted the parts i would like copied and pasted into an email based on today's date (21st july).
I am dealing with date ranges with the data being on a second tab of the Excel workbook. The first tab is to populate a report of the difference in dates. I need to count the number of values are less than 3, after I subtract Column P from Column K.
Raw Data'!P:P is a Particular date and 'Raw Data'!K:K is another date. I am trying to find a count of all of the rows where the difference of the 2 dates is less than 3.
I am trying to count the number of time the 15th and the 28th of the month show up in Column A. Column A is in date format but not all cells have a date. In this example I am only looking for the 15th but in the end I want the combined count of both.
This formula gives me a count of 1 =(COUNTIF(TimeSheets!A1:A119,"3/15/2012")) These return 0 =(COUNTIF(TimeSheets!A1:A119,"*15*")) =(COUNTIF(TimeSheets!A1:A119,"*/15/*")) Or any other combination of wildcards with * or ?
Maybe there is something other than COUNTIF I can use.

In one spreadsheet, I want to have a command button that will hide all rows where the date column (column A) shows a date older than one week from today. When this button is clicked again, all rows will unhide again. Preferably the Command button title would change to reflect whether it is on the hide or show cycle (for example "Click to Hide all older than one week" and then "Click to Show all events") .
Excel 2007 Q: I have a combo box (ActivX) that I want to be able to choose a a date from a range of dates in column A on sheet 'Working Copy'. I want a cell to update with the number/position of the date when the date is chosen i.e. the first date in the range yields 1 the second date yields 2 and so on. I also want the date to be displayed in dd-mmm-yyyy format. I am able to get the cell to give the correct position of the date but the date reverts to five digit number in combo box. I can change the code to return the correct date in the combo box when the date is chosen but then the cell just returns 0.
How can I make it so that the combo box returns the correct date and the cell updates with the position instead of jsut one or the other?
Here is the code I am using
Private Sub ComboBox1_Change() ComboBox1.Value = Format(ComboBox1.Text, "dd-mmm-yyyy") End Sub or Private Sub ComboBox1_Change() Sheets("Working Copy").Range("G1").Value = ComboBox1.ListIndex + 1 End Sub
