I need a sum of top 5 numbers category wise. I have attached a sheet in which I would be requiring Sum of Top 5 for the month of May. I have shaded cell where i would be requiring a formula...

I am attaching a sample file wherein my requirement is that on clicking one button labelled (actually textBox) "show Data sheets" should display a list of all three data sheets which are hidden and other button labelled (actually textBox) "show Reports" should display a list of all three Report sheets which are also hidden.
Actually users will be able to put data in Datasheets whereas Report sheets contain formula etc and users will not be able to put any data on those report sheets.
Only one sheet should be displayed on the screen ie when user will move to Datasheet1 from Introduction sheet, only Datasheet1 should be displayed.When user will move from Datasheet 1 to Datasheet2 only Datasheet2 should be displayed and so on.

if I could get the formula in excel ,since this is the sample data as I do have a numerous & huge data like shown above datewise where I need to add C ,D and E but Opening stock(column B) from next date onwards must be equal to previous date closing stock(Column F).
I need to color format several matrices of about 1000 rows each in order to find a pattern. Each row needs to be formatted on a color-scale so that the maximum value in each row has the darkest color and the minimum value has the lightest, while others are lighter according to their weight. It can be done on a single row, but it does not work for multiple rows at once. I have tried format copying and range options but it takes the maximum and minimum for the whole range rather than individual rows.
I'm wondering if it is possible to do it for multiple rows while the criteria of maximum and minimum applies to individual rows.
in creating a Macro which copy and paste the data from "Sample2.xlsx" file to "Sample.xlsx" file after row count in each column. Macro should not overwrite any previous data present in workbook.
Note: Sample2 workbook is containing a Variable Columns. Macro should match the headings of the Column in both workbooks and then copy and paste the data after row count.
I am looking for a smart way to extract the values corresponding to the first and last day of a month I specify from my time series. Column B has the dates (dd/mm/yy), column A is text(B,("mmm-yy") and column E has the values I need to extract. I have a column with all the months of the year: Dec 12, Jan 13, Feb 13 etc... and I need to pick the value in E that corresponds to the last observable day of each month and divide that by the value corresponding to the first observable day of the month.
I have a sheet that lists dates (several per month) and corresponding values. I want to sum all the dates for each month on a separate sheet. I was able to find the formula I need on another thread (http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...nthly-sum.html), however, my formula does not seem to work for the month of January. For January only, it actually sums all of the data available and gives me the total. Am I doing something wrong? My formula is:
I am trying to Sum all the values in Column G that have the same month ( date format is mm-dd-yy) in Column B but am not sure how to do this. I have tried the Vlookup but that only returns one value.
I have been using Excel for a while but i'm kinda stuck at one point where i have to calculate the sum of the numbers corresponding to the month of the data.
Column 1 has all the dates in different months - in this workbook i've included only jan, feb and mar. The second column has the counts corresponding to the dates.
Now if a user inputs the month (1,2,3) number in F2, then we need to compute the sum of all the numbers from second column corresponding to the month in column 1 and display in cell F4.
I have a list of groundwater level values in 800 different wells that were measured in April and October of each year from 1982-present. The problem is that they are listed in order:

I want a formula that will average all the April values and another one that will average all the October values.
I have four worksheets with columns for different months (including future months) with a mixture of values and formulas. What I need to do is to be able to copy....paste values all the data (excluding the cells with SUM totals) which relates to a column which is less than the current month date. In other words, if today's date is the 15th May 2006 for instance, I need all columns relating to Jan, Feb, Mar and Apr to be copied and pasted as values in the same cell they are currently in. If the date was the 26th June 2006 I would need this to occur for the columns relating to Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr and May only. Hopefully you are following my logic? FYI - a formula for the current date is stored in another sheet.

I have 4 grids on the trending tab. I want to find the top 10 highest Color assets from Fleet Volume -Color tab under the correct month.
So for example, if the month is May as in cell G3 on the trending tab, then look at the data under the month of May on the Fleet Volume-Color tab and find the top 10 assets and drop in the City, Address, Model, Serial Number and then volume to the 1st grid on the trending tab, then repeat for Highest B&W
I want to the do the same for each of the other 3 grids on this tab. I want this to update based on the month on both tabs.
Of course, the data on the Fleet Volume tabs is a small range due to size, the data is a lot larger.
Is there are way to do this with a formula? I tried Large and small formula but not too sure how to bring over the other data like City, Model etc.
I have two date columns, say E & F. In these two columns I have entered date values. I need to do colour, font bold, Italic automatically when date values are entered in these columns - with a conditional formatting - i.e. every month should be in different color.
For example, values 23/05/2009, 15/10/2005, 07/12/2004 must be automatically coloured with different colors as its months are different.
As in the attachment example, I use a database (sheet2, where data start from row 3, and headers are in rows 1,2). I've named it as "Data" with a dynamic range name (formula: FFSET(Sheet2!$A$3;0;0;COUNTA(Sheet2!$A:$A)-2;COUNTA(Sheet2!$2:$2)). When I enter a month and a year, in sheet1, I want to get for that year's month:
1) The working days 2) The sums of the fields Totals and each of the other (AA, BB, CC etc.).
