Order Lines In Decresecenting Classifitcation And Sum The 5 Biggest
Jan 13, 2008
I need to do a decresenting classification of data available in lines (2 hundreds of lines). I have headers in the columns that cannot change position. Then I need to sum the 5 biggest values in each line.
I want to consolidate this data. I've tried subtotalling on order, then subtotalling on part number. This works, but the resultant appearance is messy and hard to follow.
I want to create a formula that values if the number in the cell is in the biggest 25 numbers in the column and also check in another column the same thing. If the number is within the 25 biggest from the first column or the second then to give me the number of the cell. I created a formula but it is very large in order to apply for the 1st to the 25th biggest number. The formula is:
IF(AND(or(K16=LARGE($K$16:$K$152,1),I16=LARGE($I$16:$I$152,1)),K16<>0),K16,"") but only for the 1st biggest number of the columns.
The attached sheet has two rows of numbers. The top one shows used energy, the bottom one produced energy. What I need to know is during what period of the day one has the biggest difference between the two. In this case this is between 1400 and 2000, 28 used and 9 produced (a difference of 19). The question is how this difference can be determined automatically?
I have a hockey scoring sheet, which has player names, goals and assist with it. What I want to do, is to print in to a different sheet player's name and goal amount, who has scored the most goals.
and so on... In the list, the date isn't sorted from small to large, many values (if not all) occur multiple times and on occasion some values are added to the column. With that last part I mean that you can see it as a batch of 500, and if so far the batch only contains 450 values there will be (for the time being until items get added) 50 empty cells in the column as well.
You can't order numerically or alphabetically. I know I can make a custom list and then just sort according to that custom list so the biggest value would come out on top or bottom but that's not what I'm looking for either, as the data needs to be sort by another colomn (dates in chronological order).
So I'm just looking for a formule saying "return the biggest value if the order of things is as I typed above'.
I have some survey data for 2008 & 2009. I have a column calculating the difference on each question between the two years. I need to show the 20 biggest changes, positive or negative. Which function can I use for this?
I looked at threads realted to printing but wasn ot able to find something similar to what I need. So here is my problem:
I have a file with more than 100 worksheets (each sheet contains the invoice for one store). I would like to create a macro that would enable me to determine the order in which worksheets would be printed. How to do it?
Idea #1: the printing order would be based on the value in cell L1 that would contain the route number for each store. Stores belonging to the same delivery route will have the same value in L1. So, the macro should first print all sheets with 1 in cell L1, then print all sheets with 2 in cell L1 and so on...
Idea #2: Creating a separate data sheet with the list of all stores and their corresponding route number. Let's say info is contained in range A1:B150, where Column A contains the name of the stores and column B contains the route numbers. The macro then should look at that list to determine the printing order of the subsequent worksheets (the name of the store in column A would be the same as the name of the worksheet corresponding to that store).
Idea #3: sorting my 150 worksheets manually. It does not solve my problem fully, though, because stores do not always belong to the same route. So the manual sorting should be carried out daily and would not save time at all.
I need a way to re-order an excel worksheets columns based on another worksheet.
Data is extracted from a database into excel however users can configure the columns in the initial system. to how they like This causes problems when the data is copied into an excel spreadsheet I have created as the data copied will not be in the same column order as is required.
How can i reorder the columns without physically having to cut and paste the columns to match?
I have attached a sample spreadsheet.
You will see on the spreadsheet that 'fixed columns' is the order that i require the data however 'variable columns' is not in the same order.
I need a VBA code to find the nearest biggest number and nearest lowest number between the data of D2 to H2. In the attached file, I have mentioned my required output (Column A and B - blue highlighted)
For each column with a header A, B (these are people), 1 in their column represents they works that day on a project. The day columns are days of the week, and people cost different amounts on different days. I need to work out the total cost for each person for the working period.
The cost for the first day for person A is =if(b2=1,vlookup(a2, f2:h8, 2),0)
How do I sum the costs for each day in a single formula without creating a cost per day column for each person i.e. sum each line of vlookups?
I have two rows of data, each row also have similar data. I need to find the number of matches that the two lines For example :
7,7,K,A,8,7 K,6,7,7,A,9
To reach the conclusion I need to build six such functions: =1*(COUNTIF($A$65:$F$65,A66)>=COUNTIF($A66:A66,A66)) =1*(COUNTIF($A$65:$F$65,B66)>=COUNTIF($A66:B66,B66)) =1*(COUNTIF($A$65:$F$65,C66)>=COUNTIF($A66:C66,C66)) =1*(COUNTIF($A$65:$F$65,D66)>=COUNTIF($A66:D66,D66)) =1*(COUNTIF($A$65:$F$65,E66)>=COUNTIF($A66:E66,E66)) =1*(COUNTIF($A$65:$F$65,F66)>=COUNTIF($A66:F66,F66))
The result is 4
Is there a single formula that will give the result ?
Another question, is there a formula that I can compare to the principle of one line against the 20 lines ?
i have a list of about 2,000 rows of text going down vertically, but out of that 2,000 there's only about 1,500 actual items - the rest are duplicates.
how would i go about eliminating the duplicate strings of text quickly?
In Column B I have some measurements. These are measurements. I chart them in a line graph. I also have my max and min over in some other cells. These aren't the min and max of column, but these are what I have set the min and max at. To make this clearer, my max is 27, but the data in Column B could be anything....20, 28, 35, 15, etc.
I want to plot my data in Column B just as I am currently doing. However I also want to plot the min and max on that same line graph and show them has horizontal lines going across. That way, if one of my numbers is above the max (or below the min), you will be able to see it on the line graph.
Here's what my data looks like. The Viscosity (column b) is what I'm charting on the line graph and you can see the min and max data that I want to plot as well.
I have a file that contains at least 35 sheets. All of the sheets have some lines that are hidden. I tried selecting all the sheets and unhiding everything but it didn't work because some sheets actually have filters in them and the filter line is also hidden.
I need a macro that add's after each 9 lines 2 new rows. The data I've it's not the same every month, one month I can have 27 lines the next one I can have 90 lines for exemple.
I need also to calculate in one of those added rows this "=B8+B4-B6". This calculation is to be apllied in each block of nines lines.
I like to create a float chart in excel. for this purpose I need to have a candle chart and add lines into the same chart. I can create a candle chart in excel. But as soon I add lines to it (additional data rows) the candles are distorted. The principle I'm interested in applies as well to: how do I add moving averages into an excel candlestick chart? As soon as I add the data for the MAs, the candles are distorted.
In short: how do I combine candles and lines in one chart?
I have an excel document that looks all nice and pretty except for the little white grids all over it with unused cells. Is there anyway to hide the lines? i dont care that the cells are there just the lines make the form look kinda crappy.
I have created a quick flowchart in Excel 2007 using the shapes and elbow/line connectors. All looks ok when on screen but when I move to the print preview, the elbow connectors used to loop back (horizontal, vertical and horizontal in opposite direction) in the process jump out of position.
If I print, it prints as per the print-preview.
Have alook at the screengrab showing regular view and print-preview.
Is there any way to fix the position of these lines?
Supplementary question: is there a straighforward way to creat a line break or crosssing?
