Plot Dots On A Map With Data

I am planning on creating a map of a badminton court. I am hoping to record each hit of the shuttlecock with a dot on the map. Of course I want this to be inputted by data rather than manually inserting a circle shape and placing it in the correct location each time.
is there any way to do this in excel?

I have 1 row of user entry cells (A1:Z1). To keep it simple, let’s say A1 is always 0 and Z1 is always 100.
The user can enter any positive number in any of the cells. For Case 1, let’s say ‘20’ in M1.
I want a set of formulas in A2:Z2 that fills in the values with straightlined values from 0 to 20 from A2:L2 and 20 to 100 in N2:Z2.
For Case 2, the user enters ‘10’ in M1 and ‘60’ in T1 and the formulas in A2:Z2 fill in the appropriate values that connect the empty cells (i.e., 0 to 10, then 10 to 60, then 60 to 100).
Basically, a user enters 1 or more numbers in 1 row, and the second row fills in all the non-entered cells with #s that are straightlined, thus ‘connecting the dots’.
I think a bunch of nested IF statements might work, but it’ll be hairy and nested IF statements are a resource hog. Any better ideas? I’m think maybe some INDEX and MATCH functions.

Cells E39:E53 are conditionally formatted to fill red if cell $AB$13=the cell 3 to its left .. eg: cell E39 would fill red if cell B39 (the cell 3 to the left of E39) is equal to cell $AB$13
Only one cell in the range will meet the condition at any time.
I also have the same range conditionally formatted to fill black if cell $AF$13=the cell 3 to its left .. eg: cell E39 would fill black if cell B39 (the cell 3 to the left of E39) is equal to cell $AF$13
Ranges F39:F53, and G39:G53, H39:H53 etc etc etc (all the way up to X39:X53) are all conditionally formatted the same way.
What I would like is for the cell that fills red in the first range to have a line connecting it to the cell that fills red in the second range, etc etc etc.
And the same for the cells that fill black.
Creating a chart from my data is not an option for other reasons, so I'd like to explore this possibility.

I have an Excel file with a sheet that has the following columns: Name, Activity, Start Date,
End Date. What I would like to do: I would like to create summary sheet with a calendar-like
matrix, with the names as rows, and dates as columns. I would then like to plot the activity in
the corresponding dates (based on the start and end date). Note: If there are schedule
conflicts, the conflict should show up in another row
- Is this even possible to do in Excel?

on a macro or vb code that can search a date and shows everything related to the date? My problem is when i select a certain week for example first week of july. I need a macro of VB code that can find all the dates (or days) in an array of dates and data, which are arranged randomly, that falls in that week and copy them to another worksheet. I have a large amount of data recorded from a logging device which i then need to convert to a graph. Is there some nice coding to enable the user to select a range of dates from column A and times from column B then allow the user to select the column in which relevant data is contained and plot a line graph of the data contained with named axes.

Each list was originally a set of names and i have populated the "D1, D2" cells (where D1 = the first name, D2 = the second, etc).
Is there any way, on a seperate sheet i can get a list which shows the following (ie. no spaces between lines of data):

Is this possible through a VLOOKUP?

I have a SAP application that outputs a field of data from a specific query. One column, the date, is produced in the format 18.02.2009. Is there any excel 'trickery' that can convert this into a standard british date format i.e. 18/02/2009 & then allow me to sort the entire data field by ascending date order?

I need to label points on an XY scatter plot with a different set of label points than those provided by simply assigning data labels (don't need series name or x and/or y values displayed but an additional field of data). I can't use an add in (work machine) and would like to do this without using macros.
The project has 4 fields
A B C D
plot# type x y
I need to label the XY points for each series (type) by their plot #. The attached image/file shows what I'm looking for (added plot # labels manually for sake of display, in reality there are >2000 plots so I cant do it manually.

I have a spreadsheet in which the amount of data is not predictable. There are always a different number of rows and columns in this spreadsheet. I need to be able to grab the data that is in it starting with B1 and going to the last row and column with data and put it into a scatter plot. The code that is currently in my macro is as follows:

Note: ForChart is the name of the sheet where the data is housed; I have other sheets in this macro.
I know that the last line is the problem. While I figured out how to select only the data I need, when it goes to put it into the chart, it's still using an absolute reference and I don't want that. There are sometimes more columns than J and fewer rows than 1000. I want that data range to be whatever CurrentRegion selected. Is that even something that Excel can do?

I am attaching the Excel File along with this mail. In chart there is data points have been mentioned in scatter plot like (38,15 etc) Instead of these points I want the names that I have mentioned in column A2:A9. I used to make lots of charts related to this and it is very diffilcult for me to manually punch all these names and most importantly the thing is that I cant download the software available on http://www.appspro.com due to some issues can you give me the VBA code for this which will automatically paste these names only I have to change is the data range and its very urgent................ASAP

I have attached 2 files. One of them is called Macca.xls. This is the file that was created for me by shg on an excelforum. The other isOreDep_updated.xls - this file is the updated list that I want to convert into the Macca file or make it look like the Macca file.
I awas trying to make a couple of plots, but they were not llooking like some examples I have.
In the OreDep-updated file attachment is my data I needed to use. I needed to make 2 plots:
Plot 1: Resource Grade (log scale) against the proportion of deposits (linear scale)
Plot 2:Tonnage (log scale) against proportion of deposits (linear scale)
This was done with my old data that is shown in the Macca.xls attachment.
They are meant to cumulative proportion plots. As a line or scattergram. An example of what they are meant to look like is at: http://www.nbmg.unr.edu/dox/ofr962/c11.pdf on Page 4 and 5.
shg managed to make them look like I wanted with the log normal smooth line too.
My problem now is that I want to change the data under Name, Resource Tonnes and Resource Grade (basically replace the old data in Macca.xls with the new OreDep_update.xls, to come up with same type of plots). But whenever I try to copy and paste the data into the Macca file it messes up everything. I looked at the formula that was created and I really havent a clue how to change it, without affecting everything else like the plots.
I also need to add 2 new columns for date and for reference, and it wont let me do that.

I have a chart that shows up to a list of 28 people and the number of sales for that day. I'm try to make the chart only show the names and number of salesperson that are not = to null. This is what the chart has for values right now "=' Nest Average'!$C$6:$C$33". How can I make it so that it only shows those cells if not = to null.

I'm using Excel 2008 for Mac & cannot figure out how to add a data label to an XY scatter plot that comes from a 3rd, separate column.
I have 3 columns of data: (A,B,C)
Labels, X values, Y values
When I select the Data Source for the Chart, there is a greyed out box for Category X axis labels, which is where I remember such information going in PC versions of Excel I used to use.
From the formatting palette, the only options to select for labels add the values of column B, but I need the reference from column A.
I'm not familiar with macros or visual basic. How to add these labels? This is Mac, Excel 2008.

I have a text file which is attached as "rawdata". It contains records of something (let's call it temperature) at different times on different days. My goal is to display a graph of temperature versus time so that I can visually analyze trends. I have hundreds of these files, all of different lengths. it is very important that I automate this process as much as possible.
Detail: (Here I describe what I have done so far; if this is inefficient or unnecessary, feel free to tell me) I open Excel 2010, click File, Open, and select the file that I want to parse. It is a TXT file, so the Text Import Wizard comes up. For step one, I select Fixed Width. I select File Origin: MS-DOS (PC-8). On step 2 of the wizard, I create column break lines to place all dates in the far left column. The next column contains the first column of numbers before the first dash (-). The next column contains only the dash - I will later select "ignore this column" to eliminate them. The next column contains the time stamps. I continue adding column breaks in the wizard until all of the data are parsed into columns in the same manner.
In step 3, I format the first column as "date (DMY)". The columns with the dashes I select "do not import". Everything else is "general". I click "finish", and the resultant workbook is attached, called "import".
Now, as to what I want to do: I want to display the "temperatures" as a graph vs a date/time axis. The reason I find this difficult is because the temperatures and times are not in neat columns, but are in 4 columns that go in a left-to-right and top-to-bottom progression and are broken up every few lines. (I am interested only in numbers that are displayed immediately to the left of a time-stamp. Therefore, the "record #"s should be ignored. We can delete the rows that say "record #" if can be done automatically.)

This may sound like a dumb question, but hang with me. I have two series in an xy plot. One is a line (withOUT markers) and one series is just markers (no line).
The line without markers is created in a way such that it forms a box and whiskers plot. The other series, are trial values that go into the box and whiskers.
I have desperately tried to get the second series (just points) to plot BEHIND the first series (line, no markers). Changing the series order does not work unless both series have lines. I have tried this in a variety of ways (including writing a macro which draws the markers first, and then the lines), but that doesn't work either!

I have a pareto for a manufacturing facility that has a list of nonconformists and their occurrences in columns K and L. My issue is since it is a running total for the year at certain times the values are 0 for the number of occurrences. This calculates fine, but the graph is very large and the failures are all located on one side instead of being evenly distributed. I am trying to get it to only plot for what has occurred and not have a bunch of blank values. To make it a little more complex I'm trying to avoid macros.. I can get them to show up blank just can't get the bar graph to resize itself to fill the chart.

I have data that starts from say, 17:50 hours. However, I would like the chart to start from 00:00 to 00:00 so it is a full 24-hour period. So up to 00:00 to 17:50 hours, it would be blank then the data will be plotted from 17:50. How do I do this? If I select the existing data from 17:50 and ask Excel to create a chart, the x axis starts from 17:50 (not 00:00).

I have some weekly data that I need to produce a graph from (100% Stacked Column). Each time I create the graph using the dates as the x axis i only get a thin line which looks like it represents one day, the other space looks like it is for the other 6 days of the week. I know that you could add an apostrophe to the beginning of the date but this is to be an automated report.

I have a set of data which indicates readings taken at different dates/times at varying intervals.
I want to create a chart where time is the X-axis but the usual charting feature would spread the data points at regular intervals. I want the data is spread out across the X-axis according to the actual timings.
I have a sample data in the file attached to this posting. There I showed the type of chart I want to see (which I achieved only by modifying the original set, Table 1. The modified set of data is in Table 2)
