someone show me how to change formula values. i am limited on information i can enter.i tried filling entire area with data to perhaps get a gradual movement down from 27-28 . how do i edit the formula to read 5 to 200 instead of 5-27

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently creating a workbook whereby I have (regrettably) highlighted entire columns and formatted these columns to show borders. The reason I did this was because drawing them in manually (I thought) would take much longer with the way the worksheet is laid out.
Obviously highlighting the entire column has meant that borders were drawn all the way down to the bottom row of the workbook, and so the vertical scroll bar cannot effectively be 'dragged' up and down as even a tiny movement will cause it to scroll right past the worksheet.
I have tried running a macro to clear contents and formatting for all the unused rows, but the scroll bar remains to be a pain.
I want the scroll bar to only scroll down to a few cells below the available work space like it should do.
I am using Excel 2007 on Windows Vista Business 32 bit. I have several workbooks. Each one contains 33 worksheets. 31 of the worksheets are for each day of the month, the other two are for yearly totals and revision history. Recently, a menu bar has appeared at the bottom of my worksheet. At the left is an icon that states that no macros are being recorded, click here to start recording. The center of the bar is blank, but placing the mouse over the bar brings up a customization menu.
At the right side of the bar are three icons dealing with page layout. As I scroll down the worksheet entering data for the day, the cursor goes below the bar and the screen does not move up as it used to do. Also, by using the arrows keys to scroll down, I do not see the bar containing the worksheet names. Luckily, I have a macro that allows me to save the current days worksheet and move to the next one, otherwise I would not be able to do that. When I open a previous month, the bar is there also, so it must be a flag that I can't find or don't know about. Is there a way to get things back to normal?

My requirement is if `LBO' is available (in Column A) then the formula should count the number of `LBP' available above the `LBO' upto the blank cell. If there is no `LBP' above the `LBO' then it should plot zero in Correponding Column B Cell. If 2 `LBP's available above the `LBO' upto balnk space it should plot `2' in Correponding Column B Cell.
As like `LBO' and `LBP' the formula should work for `UBO' & `UBP'. refer the attached excel file.
I want to apply a bottom page border in my excel file. The page border should be fixed, i.e. if you insert a row above the border then the border should not shift as well.

It worked well for several months, but now the bottom third of the PDFs I create is missing! I didn't post here at first, because I couldn't be sure it was an Excel problem, but I have since tried a second PDF program (Bullzip - the first I used was PrimoPDF) and I get the same problem. It prints correctly to a paper printer, so the print range is correct.

When I pulled up a workbook today with 3 sheets in it, all that comes up is the first sheet and the sheet tabs at the bottom of the screen are no longer there. I must have accidentlly pushed some button, but I can't get to the other sheets. I really need the information on the other sheets. My C column has a list of CUSIPS. In column J, I would like for the User to be able to add a list of cusips and then have the ones that don't already exist in the list of CUSIPS in column C be added at the bottom of the range. I have written a macro now that uses the index match, but for some reason it adds all of the cusips that exist in J range to column C, not just the ones that are missing. I can provide a template if necessary.

In Excel 2010 I need to place a text box between the X axis and the bottom border of a chart.
How can increase the white space between the X axis and the bottom border to allow me to do this?
I am trying to conditionally format the top middle and bottom thirds of a range of data. Problem is, that the range needs to be flexible as sometimes there may be a maximum of 36 cells with data, but sometimes there may be less (so there are blank cells in the range that need not be counted). The methods I have tried always include the blank cells, and so it is not equally formatting the thirds (as it includes the blanks cells as part of the bottom data)....

I have cells where the formual is this: =D17/SUM(D17:E17). The result is always going to be a three-digit decimal, less than 1. .546 .345 .678 etc. Excel, of course, places a zero in the front: 0.546 0.345 etc. Is there a way to remove this?

I want to remove "#" sign and zeros as well.I had used "LEFT " function but problem is that some numbers have 3 zeros in the start and some have have 4 or 2 or one zero. I tried to do it manually but it proved a gigantic task and been unable to complete it.
The few examples of entries are as under.

I have received an excel spreadsheet that only has 23 columns. The sheet is not protected, the columns are not hidden, the columns are not shrunk to .01 millimetres, the columns are quite simply not there. How is this possible to do? But what I want to do is the following:
If I have "D-og 12 2-3" in column A and say "do g 1 22/3" in column C, I want it to be displayed in column B. To do that I need to decapitalise and remove all the special symbols such as space, ), (, *, &, ^, %, $, #, @,! etc.
So I get dog1223 in column B since they are the same.
I have a spreadsheet that contains certain formulas based on constants stored in another sheet. I have created this formula now which goes like this
=IF(C3=Staff_Profile!$C$5,IF(Staff_Profile!$C$2="Expat",2000," "))
The above formula work on two conditions :
1) the staff has joined in a particular month
AND
2) the staff profile is "Expat"
If both conditions are satisfied then the formula applies 2000 $ recruitment charges , else it is 0 (zero)
While it returns 2000 as true value where it is required, for rest of the cells it returns value "FALSE", which I dont want to see. I need to see 0 (ZERO). I am confused , as to how this can be achieved.
I have some password protected excel worksheets that required editing as they are from earlier versions, an earlier time and all need to be updated. This would be fine if it was myself who actually made the worksheets, but the person who did retired a couple of years ago and has dropped off the map (no contact details etc).
I know how to remove passwords, when I was the one who set them. The big problem here is, they are all macro enabled and for some reason the free down load password removal applications do not unlock worksheets that are macro enabled.
Just wondering if any one can help me come up with some code to remove some lap time in my document ....

I need a macro, preferably a "sub" that will search a long text input and when it finds the first instance of the letters "GSH" in that order removing all previous text before it. The amount of text characters, letters, and order before the gsh will vary.
For example:

values in column A get placed into column B along w/it's values. Column A should have only a 6 digit number. Column B may have a combination of numbers and letters, but more use of letters.
I'm trying to create a formula for that will remove the 6 digit number at the front of my text values if it is present in column b. If it is not, than the column should remain the same. Is there a way to say remove first six values
from left if values are numbers? The results should out put to sheet 2.
