Scroll Over A Cell That Can Display The Name From The Row Along With The Date From The Column
Nov 10, 2008
Is there a function/routine/etc. that when I scroll over a cell that I can display the name from the row along with the date from the column. (I know I can do it if I click the cell.)
Objective: Once I zero in on the desired cell I click it to schedule the person to work, count their hours, add to weekly and monthly totals, etc. etc. etc.
May seem straightforward, but not to me. I need some code to scroll down column A and insert the sum total of A2:A16 in B17, and repeat this everytime a blank cell appears in colum B, continuing down to the end of the worksheet.
I have created a form that has two textboxes on. It is used to edit existing data that is selected by a combobox on the same form.
Is there a way to force the textboxes to show scroll bars if the text exceeds the textbox height or just have them always shown?
It is difficult to distinguish on some of the data whether the data goes beyond what is visible. Without actually clicking into that textbox the scroll bars will not show.
I have Excel 2000, recently when I format a cell to display mm/dd/yyyy and enter mm/dd/yy, it is displaying dd/mm/yyyy. Or it starts out correctly and during a future opening of file it displays incorrectly.
I have a rather large workbook with a lot of VBA behind it (about 1MB with no data, just formatting and VBA code). It all seems to work perfectly, except one sheet. It is a list of about 35 options with checkboxes beside each option. When the sheet is made visible through VBA code, the user has problems when scrolling the sheet.
It's hard to describe, but it all looks perfect until either the scroll-wheel or the scroll-bar is used to move around the sheet. The display then goes completely screwy. The heading row (which is actually a frozen pane anyway) ends up repeated all down the sheet, as do the column headers (A|B|C|D|E...). If i select another sheet and then back to this one, it's fine, it appears to be only when it is un-hidden through VBA.
I have attached two screenshots as an example... the only thing I have done between the un-scrolled one and the scrolled one is scroll the mouse wheel down and back up once.
A - Date last checked B - Due Date C - Actual Date checked
Currently column B is formatted to Date and simply has =A+84 and will display a date 3 months in future. However if there is no date in column A, then column B displays a default 1900 date.. Is there a way of making this blank if there is no date in col A?
Im trying to find a formula that when a cell is empty ie this cell is linked to another cell on another worksheet and info has not been entered or is 0 then i want the cell to display the the current date ie =NOW()
I have a table with 500 rows. Is it possible to make so my header row which actually on row 9 of my excel chart stays visiable as I scroll deep into my rows. This is need due to the fact by the 50 row or so you can no longer see the column titles which makes it harder to fill out the data.
i want textbox 108 to display the last entry from column A on worksheet MainSheet when textbox 6 is changed.
Private Sub TextBox6_Change() Dim ws As Worksheet Set ws = Worksheets("MainSheet") Lr = Cells(Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).Row UserForm1.TextBox108.Text = ws.Range("A2:A" & Lr).Value End Sub
My is updated very frequently and i just wonder if it is possible to display the last filled cell of a certain column in another cell.
Imagine column B (B5:B1253) is filled with average sales values by using formula "B$5:B5" and i want to display the most uptodate average value in cell B1.
I have two columns, column Q and R. Column Q has Data Validation set, where you can only choose one of four options in any given cell between rows 2-250,000. When "Complete" is chosen, the cell turns green. Now when "Complete" is chosen in column Q, I need the cell next to it in Column R to auto-fill today's date. However, the date should not update to the next day. So if the cell autofills to today's date, which is 12/6/13, tomorrow, when the date changes to 12/7/13, the cell still reads 12/6/13.
I am using the toolbox/ properties method to restrict the scroll area in the sheets of my workbook. However, for some sheets when i keep the right hand arrow pressed, the screen will not scroll to the last column. (i.e. the screen display will not move with the selected cell box)
Been doing pretty good up till now but I can not figure out how to get a combo box in the first blank cell of column A. I am using the named range 'Units' and there are almost 900 of them so I need the combo box.
I'm using Excel 2010 and I'm having troubles displaying hiding my column B if none of the cells of column A contains either "(Quasi Echec)" or "(Quasi Russite)" at least once.

Below are my 3 attempts.
Code: Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range) Dim c As Range If Target.Column 1 Then Exit Sub Application.EnableEvents = False On Error Resume Next
[Code] ..........
Code: Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)
Sub GetUniquesInColA() Dim rng As Range Dim c If Target.Column 1 Then Exit Sub On Error Resume Next
[Code] .........
Code: Option ExplicitPrivate Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range) Dim x As Long Dim LastRow As Long LastRow = Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row
I have a spreadsheet and in column D, I have look up formula which looks up value from another tab. What I want to do is if the look up finds #N/A or blank cell. There should be a message box appear warning that all the cells in column D might not be updated properly.
In the menu via TOOLS-->OPTIONS-->VIEW I am trying to remove the scroll bars from just one worksheet but when unticked, this option affects all of the worksheets in my workbook. Is there a way to just nail this selection down to one sheet via properties?
I have never written or used a macro before and I have a simple macro task to complete:
I have Column L (L4:L10) of seven scroll bars that move according to number changes in column F (F4:F10). I want to create a form control command button that resets the changes on the scroll bars according to static column of numbers in Column E (E4:E10).
I don't know if it matters, but I'll add that I plan to add a second button that does the same thing with a different column of data. I assume I'll simply replicate whatever procedure I use in the first button - is this okay?
I have a spreadsheet which contains about 800 rows. Each row contains a column with the name of a different workbook. I need to scroll through each cell containing the name of a workbook and open that workbook, extract two specific cell contents from each workbook opened, and paste that information into the two cells next to the original cell containing the workbook name.
Example:
Summary Workbook column C: contains names of workbooks. For each workbook name, I need to open the respective workbook. Then in the first tab of the workbook I need to extract the information in E6 and K7 and copy that information back into the summary workbook in the two cell to the right of column C.
I have a report with 5-8 sections on it. What I am trying to do is scroll down the worksheet when the first cell in each section is selected so that the user can see the whole section. I tried a something like this
I'm using the following code. It works fine when it comes to selecting the cell. However, I'm not sure how to bring the view of the worksheet such that the selected cell is in the middle of the sheet. I've the data horizontally laid out from column A to column BM. So, when someone makes a change in Sheet2 I need to point to the corresponding column in Sheet1 such that it is in the view.
Code: Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Dim CellName As String CellName = Range("A1").Value
Private Sub Workbook_Open() Dim ws As Worksheet Application. ScreenUpdating = False For Each ws In Worksheets ws.Select ActiveWindow.Zoom = 75 ActiveWindow.ScrollIntoView Left:=0, Top:=0, Width:=100, Height:=100 ws. Cells(1, 1).Select Next ws Worksheets("Summary Form").Select Application.ScreenUpdating = True End Sub
This works dandy, except for one thing - it will select Cell (1,1) in each sheet, but when you go there, the view is still where it was last time. (Given the nature of the sheet, usually scrolled down to the end.) How do I make sure that the view is at the top of the page? So that A1 is not only selected, but at the upper left corner of the page? Is there a "Scroll to top" type of function?
I have a document that I downloaded some data from the Internet "Kronos" and within this data there is a column for date. This column is formatted as Date (01/08/13), but it only displays the date as Sun 1/01. It's missing the year, which it should be 01/01/12. I have tried to use TEXT function to convert it to month name and day name using TEXT(N4, "mmm") and Text(N4,"ddd"), but I still getting Sun 1/01. I have also tried to use Text to columns to split this date but, it does not work. Is there any other way I can convert this date into m/d/yy?
