In sheet1, I wrote my data for lookup porpose. The data named (Table). Then I saved it as Add-in (named TEST). That Add-in, already added to my excel Add-in
I open another excel file but How can I use lookup formula from that data (Table) in sheet1 in that Add-in (Test)?
I'm looking to create a macro that will take data from an input sheet, and paste it into a cell in another worksheet, based on criteria specified in sheet1.
Specifically in the attached example, the macro would copy the data in cells C8:C10 of sheet 1, then paste them into sheet 2 based on the data specified in cell B3 i.e. it would paste them into the column headed Mar-09. I intend to make this cell a drop down, so that the user can then select the next reporting month and run the macro again to paste the data into the Apr-09 column.

I have attached a sheet that has part of a data list, sheet called (Full Data) what i am trying to do is seperate the data into event locations into individual sheets.
The data ref will be column F which is the different event locations.
I thought the best way to try and do this was to create an if/ match formula using the sheet tab names as the if match, with the event locations in column F.
I have added two sheet tabs so you can see that i require the data for (Ain) to be put into the Ain sheet.
The data list in Full Data sheet will be continuously updated so i will need the range to be around 10,000 entries.

I have a workbook I add report data to, in the form of imported sheets. I know how to do this with text files, but I'm lost on existing excel files. I want to use the attached Test.xls file below and do a lookup from the Data.csv (see zip file) where "Empl ID" (column A in Test.xls) matches "ID" (column A in Data.csv). I want to bring back "SupvID" (column B in Data.csv) into column D in Test.xls.
The problem I have is that in real life Data.csv is a very large file and contains more than Excel's maximum number of rows. I want to automate this using VBA to lookup the values without opening the csv file.
I have looked at a number of forums for answers and I can see where using an ADO connection will probably help accomplish this, but I can't seem to get it to work on these specific files.
In my workbook I have multiple sheets but I'm attaching a very simple workbook to demonstrate what I'm trying to accomplish. In my "Lookup" tab/sheet. I want to have known Latitude and Longitude data that will exist in columns A&B. Columns C & D will have address numbers and Street Name. All the information for several different parts are stored in the same file "merge__chr.txt I then have a single excel file for each different part. I need to be able to use a macro to extract the data from the txt file and fill in the excel file based on 3 criteria.

The part # is always in cell "B4" of the excel file, and the first column of the .txt file The Serial # is variable, but will always be in column B (starting at row 11 and down) of the excel file, and the second column of the .txt file The Characteristic # will always be in row #7 (starting at column D and right) of the excel file, and is in the 3rd column of the .txt file.
I need this to copy the information from the 6th column of the .txt file and store it in the cell where the characteristic and serial # meet. I only need to be able to do this for 1 serial # at a time. When the current serial # is selected, I would like to use a button to fill in all the information for all Characteristics of that part. I attached a sample set of data with "QA-PRINT" as the Part #.
I am using the below code and it is not performing the operations of comparing and deleting the duplicate values from sheet1 and pasting unique values in sheet 1, p.s. Do not need values from sheet 2, just want to compare the sheet 1 with 2 and delete dups in sheet1.

I'm having trouble to get VLOOKUP to work. Basically I need to look up Management Teir information from Sheet1 onto Main sheet as per the file attached. Both RecordID columns are Text so they should work right? But VLOOKUP returns #NA error.

1 – car
2 – truck
3 – boat
4 – motorcycle
For this example I want to search invoices; (1) first search for cars only (2) search for product make. In my attached example, the first item (cell E2) would return invoice number 7147875-FRD from the raw data file. The second item (cell E3) would return invoice number 7147877-NSN.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have all my data on sheet 2 which contains tables that relate to information on regions, manufacturers, etc so it can be a large amount of tables which will change from month to month depending on a monthly list.
For example, if “Region 1” is in cell B134 – the resulting data I need to pull out will be contained in C138:G232 ...or ”Region 2” which is in B235 – table info is in C239:G333, etc, etc.
On sheet 1, I have a cell (L7) that is populated by another formula. This cell is effectively my lookup to pull out information from sheet2 to populate cells in (sheet1) AE119:AH212 - same sheet as the reference (L7).
I need to look up the reference/resulting value that is in L7 on sheet1, find and match against the values in column B on sheet 2 and then pull in the corresponding table information.
If the value in L7 was not changing at all I could do.. in cell AE119… =OFFSET(sheet2!B134,4,1,1,1) etc etc
... but I am at a loss as to the value in L7 changing and incorporating a lookup… or maybe I am looking at it wrong..?
I have looked up match, offset, index and lookups on the forum and have managed to confuse myself even more. I have even tried taking some of the example formulas and amending with my references but to no avail.

So it will check sheet1 custid with sheet2 custid. If both matches it will replace custid with newcustid.if cust id not exists it will load sheet1 recprds as usual.

On a second sheet i have a list of text that may or may not match the text on the first sheet in colum A. If the text in colum A matches one of the text items in the list, I want to have the value in colum B appear next to it in colum C. I tried to modify a vlookup formula but would only get a value error if there was a match.

the sheet will auto populate all numbers. this part is working properly. MY issue is if you look at the Bad Debt number, the correct response should in cell f21 should be $636.46 because in order to hit the next level of pay, you must at least hit $3,424,082.00. I can not figure out how to get the correct formula that will put the right pay out. Basically in order to hit a certain level of payout you must hit that next number, even if you are a $1 higher you can not get the pay out. So for example if your bad debt is $3,424,083 you would be paid out at 100%, not 120%.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a list of rules on how to group account numbers. An example is below. I have a very long list of full account numbers (no wildcards). There are roughly 75 rules on how to group the over 40,000 accounts. I want to use the vlookup to determine what group each full account number (always 11 characters) would belong to? It seems that the vlookup isn't treating the ?'s as wildcards. I can use the full account number rules with the wildcards in the cell in the sumif function though.
So ultimately I would like to have my list of account numbers like 40000000000 and 40000000001 know that they belong in group 1 based on the rule table below.

I have a data entry sheet for attendance that shows the individuals name, date and hours attended. Each individual attendance is addedd to a new row. I need to transpose this data and display it in a report table, with the names in column A and showing hours worked for each day of that week. The formula needs to accomodate the growing data entry sheet as records are added (I'm using a date picker to change the week in the report sheet).

I am enlcosing a file that I partially acquired (the macro portion) and I am trying to add to that.
The workbook has a dde link in sheet 1, the macro will write the data to sheet2 at set times. I am creating a report of the data in sheet 2 in sheet3. at this point it is very rudimentary. I need some assistance to clean up the macro and the post of the dat in sheet2. I have created a detailed (probably over detailed) explanantion in sheet 1 in a text box.
I have a large list of data in sheet1. The relevant columns contain a unique identifier (column 'N') and a value of either "True" or "False" in column O. Because I don't want users to have to trawl through hundreds of lines looking for the 'False' entries, I have a macro that copies only those records to Sheet3. In this sheet the user can set the 'False' value to 'true' but I don't know how to return the new value to Sheet2 (possibly for multiple records).

column G = product description text and in column H = product price
What I need to do is to write a Macro that:
open each row in column A in sheet1.xls and search in sheet2.xls in column C if it finds this text (model number) then it should copy row D (product price) and paste it to column E in the right row in sheet1.xls.

I am trying to come up with a formula that will allow the commission calculation to be done automatically once data is inputted in cell A2 and E2. I have tried IF statements, but can not figure out how to make it work. I am not able to figure out how to get cells F9 and F19 to work with the proper formula.
