Vlookup (look Up Management Teir Information From Sheet1 Onto Main Sheet As Per The File Attached)
Jul 14, 2009
I'm having trouble to get VLOOKUP to work. Basically I need to look up Management Teir information from Sheet1 onto Main sheet as per the file attached. Both RecordID columns are Text so they should work right? But VLOOKUP returns #NA error.
I am trying to create a summary sheet from the matrix to do further analysis. I want to pick out the welds done everyday with weld inches as you will see in the summary sheet. How can summary sheet be automatically updated when I enter the inspection date rather than copying and pasting? I can use vlookup to get the weld dia once I get the weld numbers on that date. I have attached the file.
For my project , I am using Excel as a frontend and Access as a backend. Now, I want to write the code in workbook_Open event that will copy data in Column L,M,N,O from Access table. The query should select data from Access table where Date=Todays Date. All the Queue Names and corresponding Queue Numbers are stored in Sheet2 of the attached workbook. In Access table , there are three fields named as Type,Type1,Type2 which make up Queue numbers.
In Sheet1 , There are Queue Names and we have to store Total Batches,Totl Envelopes, total Documents and total Pages for the corresponding Queue Names in Sheet1. SO for this we need to check the Queue Numbers of the Queue names in SHeet2 but in table Queue Numbers are equal to Type & Type1 & Type2.
I have I workbook that contains 2 sheets. The first sheet "Business Objects" is the master list. The second sheet "Gene" contains similar data but is incomplete. There is a unique identifer for both sheets and that is item ID. what I would like to do is look at the Item ID column on sheet1 compare it to SS# on sheet two and copy any rows from sheet1 to the end of the sheet in sheet 2. I have found in my searches on this forum a bit of code that identifies the ones in sheet1 that are not in Sheet2 and highlights them red(which is not neccessary for me, but I am struggling to figure out how to take that and paste it to sheet2.
I have an attendance file w/least 30 sheets. 29 of the sheets are for each separate group. The other sheet is the main one where I need to collect information like "total participants in attendance" and "total members in group" Then I divide those two and get the percentage of attendance.
The sheets containing the individual groups info are set up like this... (1=they were in attendance)
GROUP 1 Name / January / February / March/ Jess________1________0________1 Ryan_______1________1________0 Joe ________1________0________0 ---------------------------------- total P ____3________1_________1 members___3________3_________3 % _______100_______33________33
I know I can manually go through and link the sums of participation and total group size into the main sheet, but I have a lot of workgroups and need to do this every month, is there an easier way? I am willing to change the set up of the sheets.
I have a main spreadsheet that I am consistenty adding information to. The columns are : Company name, Contact, Territory, and Status. The main spreadsheet is titled "Main". I want 5 additional spreadsheets in the same workbook that are automatically pulling information from the "Main" spreadsheet, and populating the appropriate spreadsheet . For example...I have 500 entries of different companies in "Main". All of these companies are either categorized as "North, South, East, West, Offshore" in the Territory column. So, I would like my workbook to have 6 tabs...one "Main, North, South, East, West, Offshore." As of right now, I am Sorting the column, then copy and pasting into correct spreadsheet manually.
I am required to fill up a sheet and provide to our Work force management team every week and it takes a lot of time from my day. I know this can be done easily with a code but I don't have enough experience with vb so can't write a good one myself
So here it goes -
I have a roster for my team (e.g. - sheet 2 "Roster") team members are required to work for 8 hours each day in their designated shift.
The codes in roster correspond to specific shift start time (e.g. - sheet 1 "codes")
Sheet - [URL]
I am required to fill up the sheet 3 "Staffing" each week for each half hour interval of a day that an advisor would be present for. So that means, I have to fill up 20 "P" for each member who is working on day from the time he would be starting his shift.
My company use a program called Bartender which is a barcode printing program. Bartender has the ability to extract information from an Excel sheet which is really useful and prevents repetetive keying in of information. We have found that if you simply print the Excel sheet when Bartender next uses the file it says it is corrupt and simply copying the data into a new spreadsheet and resaving it as the same name does not resolve this issue.
I am trying to take information from one sheet(1) and place part of it on another sheet(2). I have a list of data ID numbers that are in a list of 7 and I want to pull the first in the list to place on sheet 2 and create a formula that will pick up every 7th ID number (or name) and place it on my sheet 2.
On a daily basis we have to manually fill in a time sheet, and I was trying to think of a way where I could just copy and paste it into excel and it would show me on another sheet the total amount of hours I have worked over the month. This gets slightly more difficult, as different clients have different campaigns, and you can work on any variety during the day (however, not all of them do).
Typical raw data looks like this:
Client Hours Campaign
Rubber gloves 4.1 SEO
Therefore I would like to combine the data and then send it off to another report that looks like this:
Rubber gloves - SEO Rubber Gloves - PR Bottled Water
1/12/12 4.1 2.3 2.8
This would allow me to keep a check of how many hours I am working on each campaign over the month, and ensure that I don't run over on time. I have the boxes prepared for the 2/12/12, 3/12/12, etc. where I paste the raw data, and let excel break it down and put it in the report automatically.
I have been entering the data manually so far and I'd quite like to avoid a pivot table or chart (but i am open to it).
I have created a code in which the information from Sheet 1 copies to Sheet 2 correctly. Every time I input new information for my click event (ticket sales/amount received/change due) I want this information to be displayed in Sheet 2. However, every time I start a new submission, the information overwrites on the second Row so that only one submission is displayed. I need to create a history of all submissions from Sheet 1. Here is the code that I have to copy Sheet 1 to Sheet 2:
VB: intRow = intRow + 1 If intRow = 1 Then intRow = intRow + 1 End If
I am trying to automatically reference the contents of another file into my main file. Basically I have one schedule that I've automatically generated in AutoCAD, and another formatted template. The AutoCAD schedule is completely unformated.
I want to include a link to the AutoCAD scheule (a *.CSV file) on my main spreadsheet and have the autoCAD schedule populate my template. I've done some reading, primarily on here, and I think I need to use either the INDIRECT() or the INDEX() function.
I can get INDIRECT() to work, but it's fairly repetitive (not overly important, but still.....). More importantly, though, the schedule file has to be open, which I would like to avoid if possible. INDEX(), I just can't figure out how to work!
I attached a sample of what I am working with basically at the end of the day I download all my sales and the following day my distributor sends me a sheet with all the orders that went out.
what I would like to do is match column A and C of the attached fileand have them match up on the same rowso then i can just deduct D from B and see how much I made off that particular item. im sure I have to put C & D in a diff sheet but I still do not know where to go from there
I know from the sample it would look like I could just sort but sometimes there is more in C than A or vice versa because of orders that were filled a day late or so.
I have a timesheet worksheet - and the employees fill it in against project numbers. The cell to the right of each "item" has the total number of hours spent on that project.
However, during the week, we could jump to and from multiple projects.
My query is, can I do a VLOOKUP from my main workbook to an employee timesheet, search for a particular project number in column C, and then it would pick up the corresponding number (of hours) in column L.
Basically a formula which searches for a value (in column C), and then returns the value in the adjacent row of a different column (column L).
Furthermore, it would be even better if the formula found ALL the same project numbers within the weekly worksheet, and did a sum of all hours in the adjacent cell of column L.
I have created a spreadsheet that requires the buttons on a customised tab/ribbon in order to use it.
If this is on my machine where I have customised the ribbon it works fine. However I need to email this spreadsheet to another person - but wanted them also to have my customised ribbon. Is there anyway to do this - or would I have to go and customise their ribbon on their machine?
I'm trying to create an excel macro that can send emails with an attached file per row of my entry in excel I imagine it would be like the screenshot below. I've tried the code in the link below from a macro tutorial website but wasn't able to make it work due to error DataObject is unkown I'm using excel 2013 and lotus notes 8.5 as my email.
I need a Macro which pulls the data from different sheets of excel (which is not formatted properly) to Main Sheet. Also some of the columns will not have the same names, so macro should handle this exception as well.
I receive everyday 100 excel sheets contaning data out of which i have to copy only 4 cells- amount, name, invoice number, vendor name into the master excel sheet. So i every time one all the excel sheet one by one and copy particular cells- e3, h45, l9,x0 and paste them one by one in the master file which i had mainted to treack the invoices issued.
Is there any shortcut where as i can minimize my copy paste work and click a button after opening each file- which i think i have to do as there can be no shortcut to it, and the 4 cells can be copied to my master file.
I'm after a formula or some formatting trick to split up the address in the attached sheet. As you can see, the addresses have come through from a database in one cell, instead of a separate cells for the street line and the suburb line, making it difficult to merge for mailing.
eg. the address are coming through to the merge like this;
Can anyone tell me if is possible to copy data from sheet1 to sheet2 using VLOOKUP?
I had an interview where they asked me to copy data from sheet1 to sheet2. I used the function (=Sheet1!A1:...) and for me it was right, but they told me that it was wrong since I did not use the (VLOOKUP) function.
Please confirm if VLOOKUP can be used in this regard.
I have created a userform that allows input of information and then deposits the information on a specific sheet. I am looking for a way to have that information not only deposited on the specific sheet it is already set to but also to another sheet based on a selection made from a combo box.
