Using VBA To Create Button To Send Info From Excel To Database?
Jan 20, 2013
I have an assignment for work where I am required to create a button within an excel sheet that will submit any text in a cell which in this case would be "A9" to a database to a certain field. I must create this using visual basic.
Anyway if its possible...i need to create a button in my worksheet, such that when one clicks it, it'll compose an email thru Outlook; outputting a specific range as the body of the email.
1. I have one sheet with all the information about my customers, such as customer name, address, mobile number and email. I have also added customer reference no...... this could act like a primary key in databases...... This is SHEET 1.
2. my other sheet, lets call it SHEET 2.... is basically a template of my quotation where at the top I need to enter the customer details such as customer name, address, mobile number and email.. Sometimes I have returning customers and I need to enter their details again and again.... it is time consuming.
Initially I would like to enter all my customers detail into SHEET 1.
When I have to create a quotation in SHEET 2, I would like to enter a customer reference number and it should bring all the data from SHEET 1 about that customer and place it into SHEET 2 (quotation template)...
I am trying to create a database that contains data taken from several work books that i have saved in one folder on my hard drive. These workbooks contain quite a lot ** data, but i only want to extract the data i want to instead ** having to extract it all? these works books are used by several other people as well, so i want it to be able to update as data changes.
I was thinking about using data links, but that only seems to extract all the data instead ** just what i want?
I am trying to make a "master" sheet where employees total calls for the day are recorded.
Each employee will be marking their calls each day which will be on an excel spreadsheet. i would like to then create a MASTER sheet that links to all the employees specific sheets so when they exit the sheet it updates the master, or it can be a live update if that is possible...
How do I keep all the info entered onto a form intact even if it has been entered so that someone can click a back button to review what they have entered? In other words even if a user closes the form is there a way for that info to stay on the form?
Private Sub cmd_Enter_User_Input_Click() Worksheets("PowerAnalysis").Activate 'Make Power Config_Draft_New 2.xls.xls active workbook before entering data
I have 1 sheet where in sheet 2 i have two type data and that is 1 level service data and 2 level service data. As you can see its just a Job logging spreadsheet, What I am trying to do is create a jobs out standing log that will probably go in place of the Search Results sheet.
I have a job Info sheet that is just for new jobs and a Jobs Done sheet that is for jobs done, in the Search Results sheet I would like to have Jobs Outstanding, this would be done by matching the Job Number in the Job Info & Jobs Done Info sheets and giving me a report on all outstanding Jobs. I would also like to add a Jobs Outstanding Button to the Intro Sheet.
I am trying to make this code works by Toggle botten in Mymenu.

I am currently trying to create a database of products for my company. For each product I would like to include an image associated with it. I then want to have on another sheet a place where the user will click an error and be able to cycle through the products. As tehy cycle the associated image will pop up.
What I need to understand is after importing the image into excel, how do I associate that image to a cell so I can reference it in another sheet of the database. I am not concerned with how large the database will get, my pictures are quite small.
I have created a individual tracker spread sheet in each user system and on the spread sheet I have inserted 2 buttons in 1st sheet. when employee wants to take a break he has to click on the log out button and when he came back he needs to click on login button. I have another sheet named "timings" and I have created 2 columns, one is login and another is logout. What I need is when user click on the login button, the system time and date to be auto update under login column and when he clicks on logout button the system time and date to be auto update under logout column.
The data in 4 specific cells in C:UsersOfficeDropboxWB1 needs to (upon clicking command button) be copied to the next available blank cell in 4 specefic rows in C:usersOfficeDropboxWB2.
WB1 Specific Cells List Sheet1!A4 Sheet1!Q7 Sheet1!N22 Sheet2!E3
Data from these cells are to be copied to the rows listed below respectively.
WB2 Destination Rows (Next available blank row) Sheet1! Row B Sheet1! Row D Sheet1! Row F Sheet1! Row J
I gather from reading other posts that sending this data within the same WB is fairly easy, is it easy to do between WB's though as i must have seperate WB's?
I have a command button in my excel sheet, if I or my team person clicks on it, the same file has to go to my manager's mail ID from my or my team person's (who clicks) outlook.
Ok I have a form where our employees enter in some info and press the add button. I want this add button to take the data entered and transfer it to a database. Each time the button is pressed it needs to drop a row and add the new information entered.
I have a list box that I'm using to pull customer information from my "Customer" sheet to my "Invoice" sheet. I can actually open, select, and close the userform. However, I can't get the macro to put the information into the specified location on my "Invoice" sheet.
Here's my code so far:
Private Sub Cancel_Click() Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Unload Me
End Sub
Private Sub customer_Change()
End Sub
Here is the "Customer" sheet I'm pulling the info from:
And here is the location on the "Invoice" sheet that I'm trying to direct the userform to:
And here's my userform just for reference:
The userform works perfectly until I press the OK button. That's when I get the error.
I need to match data in cell A to cell B and then if they equal I need to copy the adjacent cell C to cell X . How do I set up a macro to do this automatically? I have over 5000 cells to compare and match up.. I have Office 2003.
I would like to add a Command Button that will remove a row from a database. The user will perform a search, which will find the row associated with an employee name, and click a Command Button to remove that row. How can this be done, and are there any issues that might arise from something like this (in terms of formulas)?
I'm looking for a way to prompt outlook to create a new email and in the body copy the contents of Sheet1, but instead of sending, I want it to just hold it so that the user can review the email contents.
Similar to this, but instead of an attachment the email body contains the data from sheet1
i want to create a save button in sheet 1, on clicking the same the data entered in the particluar cells of sheet 1 should get saved in sheet 2 in given format
I have a list of data which i need to send to individuals. I can sort the data by person's name.
I need to send each individual person their own data. Instead of copying and pasting each person's data into a new tab for everyone, is there a quick way in excel that for each change in person's name (Column A), that it creates a new tab with all the data?
I would like a macro that recognises the cell colour in column F if it is yellow i would like a standard email to be created & sent to the corresponding customer email address in column D. is this even possible??
I have attached a test workbook excel 2010 (ignore ref# errors, I've cut the workbook down for uploading purposes) What I would like to do is have a 'Button' on my 'information Sheet' which when clicked would clear certain cells. I have searched the forum but can't find a solution, everyone seems to want to delete rows or columns but I just want to clear certain cells. The workbook will have 11 sheets each named 'caravan 1' through to 'caravan 11' The uploaded test workbook only only has 3 sheets.
On 'caravan 1' (which is slightly different to the other 10) I want to clear the content of cells
On all other 'Caravan sheets' I want to clear the contents of cells
D4 & D5 E4, E5, E22, E23, E41 & E42
It would be icing on the cake if it could give a warning such as " are you sure you want to clear these cells" but that isn't really necessary. The worksheets will be password protected, but the cells mentioned above will not be. If it proves too difficult to clear all the cells on all the sheets with one click, then perhaps a simpler solution might be to have a button on each sheet instead
I am trying to create a 'Database' of Project Managers where by a skill can be entered into a cell and the VLookup will lookup the Project Manager that has this skill. There is the posibility that there will be more than one Project Manager with the same skill, formula so that the Lookup can return multiple values
I am seeking assistance in creating a 'database' type function within EXCEL workbook. I need to create a record of all job applications within our area and only a handful of staff have access let alone know how to use access. All are able to use spreadsheet/workbooks. Would like to be able to have entry page (i can do this fine) but I would like a search funtion that will allow staff to be able to track the progress of applications and add comments etc
