I have merges cells starting at "AS18:CC18" and continuing through "AS616:CC617". I want to loop through each row from row 18 to row 617 and perform an action on the cell content (
code to loop through "AS18:CC18" to "AS616:CC617"?
If TempWaarde1 <> TempWaarde2 Then ListBox1.AddItem TempWaarde1 End If
Posi = Posi + 1 Wend
What I'm trying to achief is to fill a listbox with all values in the first column of the active sheet, but avoiding double entry's if they're on the row after the 1st one. When I execute this in my Userform_Initialize, Excel hangs like the while-wend loop is never finishing, while i'm sure there is no more data in the 1st column after 200 rows or so.
I've used a loop in one of my macros and the loop goes on endlessly. I've been trying to come up witha way to overcome this problem but with no luck till now. knowing that I'm new to VBA i decided to turn to the big guns at mr.exxcel to help me out. Here's the code i have. Any alternatives to this would be VERY VERY VERY USEFUL!!!
Sub smalloops() Dim i As Integer Dim compliant As Integer Dim noncompliant As Integer
compliant = 0 noncompliant = 0 For i = 1 To 60
Do Until Cells(i, 2) = ("RECOMMENDATIONS")
Do While Cells(i, 3) 0 If Cells(i, 7) = 1 Then compliant = compliant + 1 ElseIf Cells(i, 7) = 2 Then.................
I have the following VBA in the attatched spreadsheet (seperated so I could upload)
The only problem that I have is that I cannot stop the loop, it constantly keeps going round in a circle.
What im wanting to do is when the Date checked is the End date and the End Time has been checked, to move onto the next row and do it again until it gets to row 40.
Sub Calculate() Dim CellNo As Integer Dim CurrentDate As Date Dim StartDate As Date Dim EndDate As Date Dim theDate As String Dim c As Range Dim i As Integer Dim addDate As Integer Dim DaysHoursSick As Date Dim StartWorkTime As Date Dim EndWorkTime As Date Dim endmarker As String
I've only got this VBA working really under Wednesday so I can make sure it is right before adding it onto the other dates,
Having another problem with the same macro that has been giving me trouble for a week now. Now, the macro will run, but after it finishes, excel stops responding. Is this because the macro continues to run indefinitely.
I have a multi-sheet workbook. The first sheet is a summary of results from the rest of the workbook. I would like this summary sheet to auto-refresh itself each time the sheet is activated. The VBA code triggered by the Worksheet/Activate event feeds some parameters out to other sheets, then copies back the results to the summary sheet of the workbook.
While doing so, it keeps "reactivating" the first sheet, causing it to get into an endless loop that is triggered by the Worksheet/Activate event. Essentially, I'd like the Worksheet/Activate event to go dormant for 15 seconds or so each time it is triggered.
I have a very long routine, looping through 35,000-ish rows several times to detect and delete unwanted items. Occasionally, it gets locked into an endless loop and CTRL+Break will not stop it - I have to kill Excel through the Task Manager.
How can I find out where the endless loop is so I can detect what's causingit and fix it?
I have loops working in other loops. The macro is almsot working well. It does the calculation i want but it fails to stop a loop, because of that, the macro can't run the next main loop (c), which is to move to the next cell where the calculations must be run.
I attach a file. the troubleshooting macroation is Sub Itiration.
The code of this macro are bellow. Basically, the loop using d as counter run into an endless loop. I don't how to stop this loop without affecting the results which are calculated correctly.
Sub Itiration() Dim CurCell As Object Dim TempSum As Double Dim d As Integer
For c = 3 To Cells(3, 4) If Cells(11, c) > 0 Then For i = 1 To Cells(10, c) Do
I'm trying to add rows in range that has merged cells and unmerged cells combined
The number of rows that is already available before adding is dynamic so can be different each time
Set up is as following
columns A merged, B merged , C merged, D not : free rows , E merged again (merged start up is from 1-6 but as stated should become dynamic each time a row is added in column E
same set up is repeated from row 7-12 , etc....
so I i'm in block A (combo of merged colums and free rows in E ) one row should be added in colum E (E would then be 1-7 and be part of block A) same for the other "blocks".
I'm trying to create an excel spreadsheet to manage personnel and various ongoing projects, what I'm trying to do is create a custom box with a selection of options (5) that will automaticaly fill a selected range of cells with a colour and 'merged' text that was selected from the custom box.
Is there any quick and easy way to unmerge merged cells and put the merged cell value in all the merged cells. For example, if I have A6:A15 merged together and its value is "FirstMerge" then I would like to unmerge all A6:A15 and then put "FirstMerge" in all the cell A6,A7,A8 etc. etc. upt oA15. I have lot of these merged cells in a sheet and I get this every month and makes any data processing very difficult. A macro or VBA code or any other solution will be fine.
I have many columns in my current spreadsheet but I have two columns that I want to split in to two project names.
Currently I have one column with: Project A/Project B And the second column with the total cost of Project A AND Project B combined
The thing is that I can easily just create a new line but that would mean all the data in the other Cells remain the same and the only two that will be different are the above two columns. I will be maintaining alot of rows so I was hoping I do not have to create two rows for every new item then to merge both rows in reach column every time I have to put in a new Item.
I am hoping to have for example the below
Name Comments Project Cost ------------------------------------------------- Item 1 This item relates Project A $150 to upgrade of Project B $120 SAS system ----------------------------------------------------
Currently I have it as
Name Comments Project Cost ------------------------------------------------- Item 1 This item relates Project A/B $270 to upgrade of SAS system ---------------------------------------------------
I would like to test how many cells have been merged in a given cell. I know about the MergeCells property which returns true if the cell is merged. But how do i retrieve the number of merged cells in that cell (supposing it is merged, of course).
Excel 2010. I need to place picture into one cell or one big merged cell, as a background fill. picture must resize to size of cell. must be fixed in, not in front. i still need write into that cell, so it needs to be really background.
I have 10 columns and 18 rows. Every 2nd row might contain a number. I need to sum those numbers, however, sometimes group of cells in a row can be merged and i value of a cell is then 0.
example:
A1 to D1 merged; value 6 A3 to B3 merged; value 3 B5 to E5 merged; value 2
=sum(A1,A3, A5) would return 9 - correct =sum(B1,B3, B5) would return 2 - should be 11? =sum(C1, C3, C5) would return 0 - should be 8? =sum(D1,D3, D5) would return 0 - should be 8? =sum(E1, E3, E5) would return 0 - should be 2?
I have a spreadsheet that has been given to me by someone else, and unfortunately it has merged cells in it that are causing some trouble. I need to have a way to unmerge the merged cells, but for the data in the merged cell to then be copied into each cell that it splits into.
I've attached two spreadsheets - unfortunately I can't really attach the real one since it has research data in it, so I've reduced the size of the file and replaced some of the text. The first file shows how the file starts off, and the file named "result" shows how I would like it to be.
My real file contains some 10,000+ lines of data, and the merged cells are of varying sizes, with no consistency to the size, so I'd like a way to automate this instead of copy and pasting into every empty cell after I unmerge them.
I have a macro to copy a merged cell from one sheet and paste it to another as a merged cell. Basically, I want to copy it AS IT IS and paste it AS IT IS. My code is below.
how to code to specify a cell in which to enter data into a spreadhseet, when the heading contains only one row.
In the attached example the headings contain multiple rows with merged cells, is there any way of overcoming this so that the entries are placed in the correct cells?
I've attached part of the file I'm working with, and can't figure out how to align the text to the top in the merged cells titled description. How do I format the cell so that if there isn't two lines of type in the description it remains aligned with the quantity and price
I've tried a couple of ideas but none seem to work. I even googled this hoping that since this seemed like such a simple thing that I couldn't be the first person to run into this... guess I was wrong. the range of cells is BF30:CF56. I tried using a cell in the worksheet to test if all the cells equaled 0, that didn't work, even after I wrote the calculate code into the macro. Nothing I try seems to get the code to stop. is there somthing I'm missing?
Please see attached file. In my column L, I'm trying to find a formula that would reference my column J to the table in the data tab. My problem is the data in column J has a hyphen (-) in the number ex.. 047-258-1 and the next tab does not have a hyphen in between the number...ex 0472581. The correct results in cell L3 would be Walmart. How can I adjust my formula to accommodate this hyphen. Can this also be reflected in my pivot table as well?
I’m having some difficulty getting my code to work. On a worksheet there are pairs of columns containing data; the leftmost column’s range is named. I have a userform with several optionbuttons that are named with the corresponding range names. I can successfully populate the userform's combox with unique items from a named range that is selected with the optionbutton.
When user selects item with combobox, I want to parse that named range with the combobox value, selects the value in the corresponding row (to the right) and then populate the userform's listbox with that value. The nonworking code is given below:
Private Sub cbxFiltList_Change() Dim fCntrl As Control Dim TempRange As Range Dim TestRange As Range Dim cLoop As Range Content_lbx.Clear For Each fCntrl In UserForm1.Frame1.Controls If TypeName(fCntrl) = "OptionButton" Then 'If the optionbutton = True then the make the range to be tested the same name as that of the optionbutton'..............
I am trying to create a loop in which the code "reads" ... lets say... cell F5. Determines if cell F5 = 1. if not, it moves on. only, instead of moving to cell F6, it moves to cell G5. so i need to add one to the column letter. How is this best achieved? having trouble with this. adding a letter to it concatinates them, and adding numbers, well its a mismatched type so that simply does not work.
I have a large matrix, with categories as columns and entries as rows, that have an "x" or a blank for each category showing if that entry has it or not. Some of these categories will get hidden based on the current user's usage. I want to use a subset of the unhidden columns and hide all the row entries that have ‘x’’s for this subset of columns.
The way I want to go is to create a list of the unhidden columns that match my subset criteria, I was thinking in a Range object. From there, I can use these columns and go row by row checking the rows value at that column to determine if I should hide it or not. This is how I think I should approach this and I'm having a bit of trouble with objects/syntax in VBA. Here is the code/pseudo code I imagine making this possible.
VB: Dim Subsets As Range For Each col In Sheets("Test").Range("A3:M3") row 3 has the option # For Each column that determines If it Is In the subset If col.EntireColumn.Hidden = False Then
[Code] .....
I am pretty sure everything except the Set Subsets = Union(Subsets, col) line is okay. The questions I have about using the Subsets Range object as this data structure are
Obviously, how can I "build" this object as I go along checking for unhidden columns that include my options? Why wouldn't Set Subsets = Union(Subsets, col.Entirecolumn) work? What's a good way to put ranges into Subsets so that I can easily use it to know which columns to check in each row entry? Can I add an entire column, or should I just reference the column of the cell that's in Subsets?
I've read over Ranges in VBA and am still coming up short with this usage.
i'm trying to get my code to work. Basically my code opens up workbook and extract the relavant data into the main workbook. Previously Its just a single For loop and it works perfectly after changing to double for loop its stuck.
Sub RunCodeOnAllXLSFiles() Dim lCount As Long Dim wbResults As Workbook Dim wbCodeBook As Workbook Dim rCell As Range Dim lCount2 As Long Worksheets("Data").Select Range("a2:ac65536").Clear Application. ScreenUpdating = False Application.DisplayAlerts = False Application.EnableEvents = False On Error Resume Next Set wbCodeBook = ThisWorkbook..................
I have a spreadsheet which is going to be populated everyday from figures from another spreadsheet using autofilters and the very useful SubTotal worksheet function. I'll attach a copy of the work in progress, also there will be a macro in here which Everytime the user presses update, it copies a range of cells and formatting and pastes it to the next available cell on the right. I've also drawn the movement of the cells i'd like The reason being, is that its going to give day to day, up to date figures from a datasheet.
The problem i have is that when i come to populate the grid which has been copied, i need a calculations to populate each cell in the Less<1week column, then when it gets to the bottom, move Back to the top, and accross to the right 1, and then populate down again, and so on until the end of the grid in question, i dont think i can use a for/next loop becuase it will be a different column address everytime. I dont really like loops, but i feel this needs it.
I've never worked with Excel macros prior to today. I'm working on this for a friend.
I've got this sheet that's going to a web address, importing a table from the page, and making a line graph of the data. I got all that to work fine (after a lot of trial and error). Now I've got the data, and I want to make a scatter plot of it...
Here's the thing. I want each month of the data represented as a line on the plot.
This is hard to explain. It looks like this: [url]
So from there, I want a loop to scroll through the dates and select a range that represents January, a range that represents February, etc, so I can save those ranges as variables and make a scatter plot with 12 curves on it.
Here is the code I have so far, in case you want to see it, not sure why you might need to though.
