2007 Registry Key For Recent Files

I've had my Excel 2007 set up for the longest time to show the 30 most recent files when clicking on the office button. After changing it to 50 the office menu in Excel runs off the bottom of the screen and I can no longer get ot the options at the bottom to change it back. Does anyone know the registry key to modify this setting back to the 30 that allowed the full menu to be visible?

Find Most Recent Files And Update Database

I have database that needs to be updated automatically. Thus far, I have written a macro that will take out and add all necessary data from a file I open, however I would like to write a macro that will find the most recent files and use them to update the database. I would need the macro to 1) Find the folder name that corresponds to the part number in the database, and open that folder, 2) find the most recent file addition to the folder 3) open that file and run the macro that I've already written.

So, what I'm after is the most recent date on which a user goes over 2000. I've populated column I manually with what the value *should* be, I just can't figure out how to do this with a formula.

Using Excel 2007, have attached the sample data as an xlsx too.

Search For Most Recent File In Folder. 2007

I am using Excel 2007 so I CANNOT use application.filesearch.

With that said, I need to change one of my old macros that searched for the newest file within a specified folder, and then display the name of that file in a message box that gives the person an option of opening the file. I've read too many workarounds for application.filesearch and I'm not sure how to combine them all into something I can use.

Normally I have a bit of code to start with, but this one has me so baffled I don't know where to start.

When I click on the "Office Button", then in the recent "documents dialog box" there is a list of my worksheets plus an "allsenatename" file". This then downloads a worksheet from a website. I don't know how it was added to my list, I must have entered it when looking at that web site in error.

Is it possible to make a setting in the registry, so next time excel opens
the addin is not "marked" in the addins-list. I can't do it manually because, because the close_event in the addin will be executed and that will screw things up.
Currently I'm looking at the regkeys: addin-manager and options, I see a change in the registry if I close XL when I unchecked an addin from the addin-list. It looks promising, but Iám not familiar with it

I have created an excel application using VBA that is posted publicly on a website and currently being downloaded by users around the world. I would like doing either of the following:

1) create a simple way to keep track of who has downloaded the application (e.g. is there a way to have people register with their email when they open the program for the first time?) so that I can send a mass email whenever a new version of the application is available

OR

2) be able to automatically send a notification to users when an update to the application has been made (e.g. is there a way to tap into Microsofts' update notification system so that it automatically updates the application for users with internet connection?)

On this forum I read about the application "FileSearch" that doesn't work in office 2007. I used the macro on below in office 2003 and it worked. Now I upgraded to Office 2007 and it doesn't work. But if you search "NewSearch method" in the MS Excel Help you can find that the application exists and it has the same morphology I am using!! Why Doesn't it work??

Excel 2007 :: How To Open Different Files On Each Of Two Monitors

I run two monitors and am able to open different files on each monitor which is very handy.

This doesn't seem to work with Excel. If I have two different Excel files open I can only view one at a time. I can move across to the other monitor, but then can only view one at a time on that monitor - very frustrating.

When I was using Excel 2010 on my last job I was shown a clunky, round-about way of being able to open two Excel files, one on each monitor. (By opening one file, opening a new Excel document from there, and then opening the other Excel file from the new document, minimizing that file and dragging it to the other screen).

Now I am using Excel 2007 and am not able to view two different Excel files, one on each screen. how I can do this in Excel 2007?

I and my organization have many files created using Excel 2003. I have now upgraded to Excel 2007 and soon I discovered a huge problem.

- When opening a file using Excel 2007 that was created with Excel 2003 the links in that file is automatically updated even though I get the edit links dialog and choose not to update.

After searching for a solution on the Internet I realize that this is a problem that exist when Excel opens a file created in an earlier version. Microsoft has no solution.

I need to be in control of which links that are updated and not.

Going back to excel 2003 is not an option. Saving the source files in Excel 2007 is not an option.

2007 VBA - Code For E-Mailing Files To Names In A Range

I have some code to email a single, different excel file to multiple Outlook recipients. I am using Outlook 2003, and Excel 2007. I always use Compatability mode in Excel as 2007 is not widely used.

The code is shown below. What I can't understand is why it fails at the code highlighted red. It tells me that there is Run-time Error '13': Type Mismatch, but I can't see the issue.

I am having trouble getting Excel 2007 on my work computer to save as .xlsx by default.

I have opened the Office Button > Excel Options > Save > Save files in this format and selected "Excel Workbook (*.xlsx)," and if I save as before closing Excel then it works perfect and saves the file as .xlsx. However if I close Excel, re-open it later and save a new file the default "Save as type:" is "Excel 97-2003 Workbook (*.xls)" and if I open the save options again the "Save files in this format" option is reverted back to "Excel 97-2003 Workbook (*.xls)."

I have finally overcome the [Compatibility Mode] issue by saving a file named "Book.xltx" (not "Book1.xltx") in the two default locations "C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice12XLSTART" and "D:Documents and SettingsusernameApplication DataMicrosoftExcelXLSTART" (we use the D: drive at work for personal files). I thought this would solve the save as issue but it hasn't. I have also changed the "Save files in this format" before saving the .xltx files in the locations to apply the settings to those specific files but that hasn't worked.

It is on my work computer so I am limited in what settings I can change because they have them pretty well locked down.

I'm trying to sort all .xls files in a folder by modified date. I want most recent at top because then I will be cycling through and using the most recent version of files that have similar names.

I have built a darts scoreboard on Excel 2007, to track scores but also record statistics such as 3 dart average and -checkout success. As I don't know how to write macro's I've created it using formulae only - it's not fancy but does the job!

I have a number of .WAV files that call out the main scores - 60, 100, 140 and 180 and I'd like the scoreboard to play the relevant file when someone scores that amount. I've trawled through lots of forums but have been able to find one that does exactly what I need it to, and I don't know how to adjust the ones I've found.

This is how the scoreboard works:

There are 25 different sheets, one for each leg of the match that could be played. The sheets are named Leg1, Leg2, Leg3 etc.On each sheet, Player 1's scores are entered in cells J15 to J47, and Player 2's scores are entered into cells O15 to O47Once Player 1 or Player 2 wins the leg, I move on to the next sheet to play the next leg. All the scores entered remain in each sheet until the match has ended

This is what I need the macro to do:

When a score of anything other than 60, 100, 140 or 180 is entered, do nothingWhen a score of 60, 100, 140 or 180 is entered, play the relevant .WAV fileIf, for example, Player 1 scores 60 the '60' .WAV file plays. 60 will be left in J15, then Player 2 may score 100, which will be entered into O15 and should trigger the '100' .WAV file.Note that either Player 1 or Player 2 can start the leg, so the order scores are entered between column J and column O can differ.

I have 31 cells (say in A1 thru A31), representing days of the
month, that daily number values will be entered. I want to be
able to select the value in the most recent day cell, not the
most recent updated cell...
i.e. the cell in the A1:A31 range closest to the A31 cell.

For example...
Say I have values: 2,4,7,12 in A1 thru A4, I want the value
in A4, even if I just updated Day 2's cell... because A4,
or Day 4, is closer to the end of the month.

Display Most Recent Non-zero Value

Column Q is a vlookup which looks up dates contained in column P within a range called "Query_From_Price_Database" and returns data from column 3 as indicated below:

=VLOOKUP($P4,Query_from_Price_Database,3)

What I'd like to achieve for each time a value is returned as being "0", is for the cell to display the most recent data.

E.g.The vlookup results might be:

27/04/10 15.29
26/04/10 15.55
25/04/10 14.98
24/04/10 0
23/04/10 15.13
22/04/10 0
21/04/10 0
20/04/10 0
19/04/10 15.24

I want it to be displayed thus:

Where there would be zeros, data is displayed from the most recent date actually containing non-zero data. Is this possible with a "not too complicated" formula?

I've tried a few methods, but they only seem to result in "formula too long" errors.

Count (Sum) Most Recent Value Only

I am familiar with SUMPRODUCT and {SUMIF}, but I am stumped on how to create a formula that can sum (or count) the only the most recent entry for each Name. The Name field is dynamic and constantly updated with a unique reference number, so I don't want totals by Name/Type, but rather only the newest Ref for each Name by Type.
