Assign Password To A Hidden Sheet, Only 1 Cell Populated
Dec 11, 2006
This is my input for password prompt:
Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim wSheet As Worksheet
On Error GoTo ErrHandler
Currently, my excel is protected with a password "PSWD" when users open the file. In my vba script, I have a function that can unprotect my excel without any password input box to the users. This method is to unprotect the file and allow users to do any formating columns and rows tasks, such as add or delete cells. After users finish their job, the file will be protected back. The function is such as below:
Dim wSheet As Worksheet
For Each wSheet In Worksheets
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
If wSheet.ProtectContents = True Then
wSheet.Unprotect Password:="PSWD"
Else
My questions are:
1. How I can create a hidden sheet that has one cell populated only?
2. How can I assign the password that the user enters at the "TextBox1" (first code) to a cell of of the hidden sheet? Do I have to modify the first code?
3. For the second code, how am I going to assign the value to at the wSheet.Unprotect/Protect Password:="..." with whatever the user has previously chosen as a password that refers at the hidden sheet?
have a pain constantly entering passwords to open workbooks, is it possible to assign passwords to a particular short cut so if for example if I hit CTRL J it will automatically enter the password jabgat2009 and open the workbook- no big deal just if someone know of the top of their head
I was wondering if it was possible to hide cells using protect sheet? I have a worksheet that contains confidential data and would like it so the cells appeared blank unless you had the password. I know you can hide rows and columns but I need everything on the sheet to be hidden.
I am using some VBA I found here to password protect a hidden sheet. It works perfectly for 1 sheet, but I am trying to hide 6 but am having problems. Under the HideSheets part I've modified it fine, by using
Sub HideSheets() 'Set worksheet to Very Hidden so that it can only be unhidden by a macro Worksheets("Confidential1").Visible = xlSheetVeryHidden Worksheets("Confidential2").Visible = xlSheetVeryHidden Worksheets("Confidential3").Visible = xlSheetVeryHidden End Sub.........
Is there a way to lock a column hidden so that it can't be unhidden? Maybe with a password? I tried saving the file with a password but I could still go in and "unhide" that column.
I have a workbook with a hidden sheet ("Template") and a visible sheet("New Job"). I need code so when cell F1 in "New Job" is populated:
1-the sheet is renamed to the value of F1, 2-a new tab is made (a carbon copy of the hidden sheet "Template") 3-the new tab is named "New Tab" and marked as unhidden.
Public Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) ActiveSheet.Name = Range("F1").Value End Sub
Function WorksheetExists(SheetName As String, _ Optional WhichBook As Workbook) As Boolean Dim WB As Workbook Set WB = IIf(WhichBook Is Nothing, ThisWorkbook, WhichBook) On Error Resume Next WorksheetExists = CBool(Len(WB.Worksheets(SheetName).Name) > 0) End Function..................
I've looked through this wonderful sight and haven't found one close to my project. I am a bit rusty on VB programming. I am working on workbook that contains multiple worksheets. Each worksheet is hidden and is accessible with a login and password so that only a specific user can access. My question is: How do I modify this so that the manager can open the workbook and view ALL worksheets without having to enter the login name and password for all of his users? Any help would be great. Thank you!!
I have a worksheet(Shed) and the range where numbers will be entered are B3:E46. In another sheet(Location) I have a in column A "Shift #", B "Shift Bus #" C "Location". what I am attempting to do is when a bus number is entered into Shed! ie.. b3=900, d15=350 etc.... Location! would lookup ie.900 in the Shed! and match it to Location! (column B) and from there provide the cell ref in column C. So I could then print Location! that would give me in Shift # order where each Bus # the shift is assigned to.
I have a spreadsheet where i have security set to prevent a user from selecting locked cells. However when a user selects a cell that is in a row at the bottom of the vissible area the comment text can not bee seen. What i need is to determine what the bottom vissible row is and use that to compare the row number of the current row and thus decide if i should scroll down to improve the visibility of the help text for the cell in question.
I have a Workbook with multiple worksheets. On one of my worksheets (Sheet4) I have three cells, let's call call them A1, A2 and A3.
A1 = Annual Budget A2 = Money carried over from last year A3 = Current financial year.
Formulas in other sheets are dependent upon these cells. I also have 3 userforms, one relating to each cell, with each form containing a textbox which enters its contents into its respective cell after clicking a command button. The userforms should display if the cell it relates to is empty. For example,
Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate() If .Range("A1) = "", Then Budget_Form.show End If End Sub
The problem I have is that the userforms only appear if I manually change the contents of the cells that they relate to. I need the sub to run every time the workbook recalculates. On top of that, I want the sheet to be hidden but the subs to still run. After looking around on other sites, I have pieced together the following code and placed it in the code for Sheet4
Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate()..................
I have a spreadsheet, which has certain worksheets that are password protected. I need to make changes to some of the formulas, and the VBA modules, however I cannot remember the password!! Is there a way of identifying the password??
I have a sheet that is password protected. I have this code attached to a command button. It will unlock the worksheet, autofilter it, print it, unfilter it, and password protect the sheet again. However it is protecting it without a password. I need to have it protected with the password so that someone will not be able to just go to tools to unprotect the sheet.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() ActiveSheet.Unprotect "rainforest" Columns("O:O").Select Selection.AutoFilter Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1, Criteria1:=">0", Operator:=xlAnd ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:=1, Collate:=True Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1 Selection.AutoFilter ActiveSheet.Protect DrawingObjects:=True, Contents:=True, Scenarios:=True _ , AllowSorting:=True, AllowFiltering:=True End Sub
I am running excel 2010 with windows 7. I created a macro in sheet 1 and I wish to activate the macro from sheet 2 using a form button. I have entered the code below. I know how to perform this function on a more simple macro like adding names to cells. This code is a bit more complex I just dont know where to start.
I have a userform which clones the latest sheet and produces copy of it on the next sheet. The first sheet they will be cloning is the sheet called 'template', I however want this to be hidden since I do not want anybody to modify a sheet which basically serves purpose of a template. And once cloned, it is no longer needed.
On the click of the command button, the macro will create sheet1 taking the info from sheet named 'Template' in the same workbook . And now on the next click of the command button, Sheet 2 is created taking the info from sheet1 and Sheet 3 is created taking the info from Sheet 2 and so on. Here is what I currently have, so how can i modify it in order for my scnerio to work?
I have a button on a sheet that runs a macro to unhide another sheet. That works, but I want the sheet made visible to remain forward. Instead, the button unhides the sheet and the sheet the button is on comes forward again. I am unable to figure how to keep the sheet made visible forward. Here is the macro 'as recorded'.
how to assign the value of whole row from one sheet to another sheet? Worksheets("Result").Cells(count, 1).Value = Worksheets("Current").Cells(k, 1).Value the above code assign only the specifc cell value. but i need to assign whole row
Does anyone know if there is a way to unprotect a sheet. The person who created this spreadsheet no longer works for our company and although we can see the spreadsheet, the formulas are hidden so we can't figure out where the data is being pulled in from. Any ideas?
I have used the following =IF(ISBLANK(Q6),"",(NOW())) & =IF(ISBLANK(Q6),"",(Today())), but when the excel file is closed and opened the date changes to now or today. How can I make the date stay and not change?
how to hide a value on a cell when another cell is not yet populated?
like for example:
A1 is Blank A2 has a formula of workday(A1,2) a date will appear on the A2 cell and I want not to show or be hidden the date in A2 until A1 is populated
I am now looking for a command that will return if a cell is populated. I.e. I need something that will find out which cell is the last one populated in a column (populated = contains data) and then will move 2 cells down, and then will enter some data into the following cells.
I am trying to get a cell to become a hyperlink after it has been populated.
For Example:
If cell H42 of Sheet 1 = [ X ] Then create a hyperlink to cell B2 of sheet 2.
I have been trying quite a few different things the latest I have written is the following:
Sub Macro1() Dim cell As Object Set cell = [ X ] If H42 = cell Then ActiveSheet.Hyperlinks.Add Anchor:=Selection, Address:="", SubAddress:= _ "Sheet2!B2", TextToDisplay:="[ X ]" End If End Sub
I am trying to write some code to choose the last "comments" entered in column 13 and then copy the data to B17 on the specified sheet below.
I get an Excel Error Excel cannot complete this task with available resources. Choose less data or close other application THEN a VB error Method'open' of object 'Workbooks' failed
Code: Dim MyMgr As String Dim whichsheet as string
User inputs cost in a cell then clicks macro button that will run a macro that ask for a task description. The user inputs the task info that relates to the cost (i.e. weld pipe). This data is stored on a seperate sheet in the corresponding cell (cost is on sheet "hours" and task description is on sheet "task description" both in same cell. This allows a copy of the cost sheet to reflect the task description. I have tried recording macros but can't get anywhere.
