Balance Sheet: Take The Value In The First Cell Of The Expenditure Column And Subtract
Jul 13, 2009
I have is a cell with a begining balance and a cell witha current balance.
I also have a column in which each expenditure will be placed ina cell in that column in sequential order.
What i want to do is take the value in the first cell of the expenditure column and subtract it from the begining balance and the place the result in the current balance.
But after the first cell i will need to subtract each value from its previous value to continue counting down so to speak.
I am at a loss on how to move the last value which will also be the lowest value in the column to the cueent balance cell.
need a formula that will give me a balance at the end, needs 2 columns with charges and credits and it allways give correct balance total on last column. have not used Excel for long time and forgot.
For the small database in my example workbook, I would like to apply credits earned at a later date to the oldest charges and create a "To Date" balance. After creating the "To Date" balance, I would like to select the smallest "To Date" balance as a way to identify the first charge that has no payment. Please see the attached for more clarity and additional information. The last column shows the desired results.
I am currently creating a new system or coursework. I decided to create a balance sheet using Excel. I was wondering if it is possible to have a cell whereby you can enter a number for example £10 and it will add to a Total balance cell. Once it is added the cell where £10 was entered will reset itself back to £0 but the total will remain £10 in the total balance cell. I think its called continuing total or something but ive searched for ages and cannot find any info. If done it will allow the user to enter any money coming into the business at any given period of time and will add to a total.
I am creating a balance sheet for my company that seems pretty simple (date, transaction type, amount, and balance), except for one thing: 10 days before every bill is due (and before every purchase is made), expense amounts are supposed to show up in the balance sheet as a deduction from the current balance, so that the sheet projects what the balance will be in 10 days. Do I need a macro for that? If so, what would it look like? It needs to be blank if it's more than 10 days out, and then suddenly appear in the balance sheet once it's 10 days away from due date.
I need to create a sheet that will take payments away from a starting balance. The catch is that I don't know the starting balance. The interest is compounded annually at 3% and each withdrawl is different. My sheet needs to show the interest earned in each year and the account balance like a running sheet, after lets say 5 years there needs to be no money left.
I want to zero out or blank out my running balance in the columns where I do not have an amount entered. So instead of having my running balance total run all the way down the spreadsheet, I want it to be blank at the first cell where I have not entered in a new bill. I have attached an example of what I am trying to do.
I have project's start date and end date and total cost. I want to spread the total cost across month on top using the total number of days[calculated using the end and start date] that project will run and the number of days that project is in that month. I have highlighted the area in yellow where I want formulas to work.
I am trying to create a run balance sheet (see attached sheet). Column C has a list of job numbers, with column D showing the reqd quantities. Once the job is run, the qty is entered in column F and either a balance or the word complete returns in column H. My problem is, is that, when a job with a balance attached to it is re-run, that balance should be returned in Column D.
Ie 574361 has a total of 707 of which 320.4 was run, leaving a balance of 386.6. When I type in 574361 again, I need column D (in the cell next to the job number)to automatically locate the last reported balance and return its value. I have tried VLOOKUP and INDEX, but cannot get the thing to return.
My balance column is formulated for 60 rows. I am currently on row 23. The balance is repeated down the entire sheet range I have set. How do I keep the balance from showing next to an empty row without losing the formula?
I am trying to subtract an amount from a cell until it reaches 0, then move and subtract from the next amount, and so on.
AmountFixed BudgetedResult53.50Subtracted 5 tell it hit zero1.30Subtracted remaining amount until zero43.8Subtracted remaining amount until zero3.8 was left over without hitting zero is good. Is there formula for this?
I have a code that inserts a new column after every 7th column. I want to include a formula where every 7th column value is subtracted from the values present in the column before the 1st, or you can think of it as subtracting 7th column of the present group from the 7th column of the previous group. Example: The range of my data starts from col F, then
F (7th) New Column (G) H (1st) I (2nd) J (3rd) K (4th) L (5th) M (6th) N (7th) New Column (O) P (1st) Q (2nd) R (3rd)
So, New Column (O) = N - F and the next New Column (W) = V-N ...
NOTE: Column G can be ignored.
I want to add a looping function to this so that it will continue to subtract for the other respective columns as well. How do I incorporate this into the following code?
I've already got it set up to calculate my pay and deduct taxes and all my bill and tell me how much I have left at the end of the month, now I am trying to get it set up to tell me how much will be left out of each check I get based on what day my bills are due.
Essentially what i want is I7 is the cell for my first check of the month and K7 is my second check, Column H shows my due dates for each bill, column A is the price on each bill so what i want is something that is similar to.
If the value if column H is between 5 and 19 then deduct the price in column a from I7 (with H and A being the same row) and if the value of column H is 1-4 or 20-31 then deduce the value in column A (with H and A being the same row) from K7.
Another way to put it would be I7 gets deducted the value in column A if column H is between 4-19 otherwise do nothing (with H and A having same row) deduct the value in Column A from K7 if column H is between 1-4 or 20-31 otherwise do nothing.
I have a cell B6 which I would like the amount to change with each entry I make. I have B4 which has constant amount, B8-B40 will have new entries and D8-D40 new entries. I had a function that had number 1 B8:B40 number 2 -D8:40 number 3 +B4. the function total in grey box is correct but when I press enter the cell in B6 says value and doesn't change to correct amount. Basically I have a balance in B6 that I want to change auomaticlly when I enter data in B8,D8 one day, then the next day, which B9, D9, etc..
I have a column of times that are formatted 12:30:00, 14:02:00.....so on and so on. I want to convert these times to be 4 hours less than what they are. Is there a formula I can put in a cell somewhere that will do this for me?
I have a workbook to record the attendance of students. Sheet attendance9 for September's attendance. Enter 1 for present, 0 for absent, L for late, E for early leave and blank cell for no schoolday. Sheet "remark9" is used to record detail of attendance for September. In sheet "attendance9", I want to display in cell AT2 the number of times a student absent for 7 or 14 consecutive days. How to count from E2:AH2?
Actually i want it to reduce others with lowest number among them.. and after every empty cell, it should find the lowest number again and reduce it from others.. this should repeat until the column data completes. after processing it should find as below
I have 2 workbooks in Excel 2010, each contain just 1 sheet. (see attached) I need to compare on sheet 1, cell D1 and column A:A (this column will be much longer), with the data in columns C:C & A:A on sheet 2, if a corresponding match is found, the data contained in column D on the same row on sheet 2 is written to the cell with the matching data in sheet 1.
I would like to subtract (for column A) line 1 from line 2, then line 2 from line 3....etc the data in column A represents time I would like to have the result in milliseconds and in a new column (D for example)
I'm trying to subtract the value of a textbox in a userform from a value in a cell, and display this new value in another textbox. An added complexity is this takes place in Visio but communicates to excel to find certain values. I have the following code:
[Code]......
which displays the value of a cell in excel, in a textbox in a visio userform. The excel cell value then changes and I thought that it would work if I were to duplicate this code and run a new sub changing the last line to:
I need a formula that will subtract a value entered in A3 from a valued entered in A2 to be displayed in A1.
Also...the Value displayed in A1 must be the value of A2 minus the running total in A3.
Ex...If I type '10' in A2 and type '3' in A3 the value shown in A1 must equal '7'. If I then type '2' in A3 the new value in A1 must equal '5' (this being the value in A2 of '3+2' minus from the original value in A2 of 10)
So..A2 = inputted value , A3 running total of inputed value, A1 differnce of A3 from A2.
Is this even possible? The whole idea is this....if you type a number into a calculator, and then subtract a number from the first number, the calculator then displays the new total. If you then subtract an number from that NEW total, the calculator then displays that NEW total. Thats what I'm trying to re-create in excel.
Cell B2 - this is a set figure which is the initial base figure - currently set to 43 Cell C2 - This subtracts Cell B2 figure (which is 43) from Cell E34 [=SUM(B2-E34)] Cell E34 - Is a cumulative total of 4 cells [=SUM(E4,E12,E19,E26)] and displays the total. Cell D2 is a set figure of 49
The formula I am looking for is once C2 reaches zero, I need C2 to remain displaying zero and the remaining figure to be deducted from D2 and displayed in that cell so C2 figure would descend from 43 until it reaches zero. but would then start decreasing D2 whilst C2 would remain static at zero and carry that the remaining figure to D2 which would be deducted from the starting total of 49 and display the figure.
I'm building a work effort tracker for employees to record what they do throughout the day and submit it via email, and I've got everything but the "Undo" button working. Right now I have 13 buttons that add +1 to cells C9:C21, and a submit button that copies those cells into an email. What I'm trying to find a solution for is if someone clicks the wrong button, say clicks Inbound Call instead of Outbound Call, which would +1 to C9 instead of C10.
I've read that coding an undo macro button is pretty much impossible, but is there a way to locate the last cell modified by a macro and subtract 1 from it? Or possibly identify the cell contained in the last macro run and -1 from it that way?
in Cell J32 I want it so when i type in a number it would subtract the number from Cell C32. Is there a formula in which all you have to do is type the number without editing the formula?
