# Subtract Value In Column A If Between Two Numbers

I'm working on a budget and financial calculator

I've already got it set up to calculate my pay and deduct taxes and all my bill and tell me how much I have left at the end of the month, now I am trying to get it set up to tell me how much will be left out of each check I get based on what day my bills are due.

Essentially what i want is I7 is the cell for my first check of the month and K7 is my second check, Column H shows my due dates for each bill, column A is the price on each bill so what i want is something that is similar to.

If the value if column H is between 5 and 19 then deduct the price in column a from I7 (with H and A being the same row) and if the value of column H is 1-4 or 20-31 then deduce the value in column A (with H and A being the same row) from K7.

Another way to put it would be I7 gets deducted the value in column A if column H is between 4-19 otherwise do nothing (with H and A having same row) deduct the value in Column A from K7 if column H is between 1-4 or 20-31 otherwise do nothing.

I am looking to be able to compare a number with a letter so for example 4c and compare it with another 5c and in that scenario see a difference of 1 but when the two to be compared are 4c and 4a it would see 0.6.

in this excersize

A=0.33333R

B=0.33333R

C=0.33333R

it is basically sub category of the initial number so an A is better than a B and in tern a B is better than a C

for example

Targeted Working At Residual

4c 4b 0.33333r

5a 4c -0.33333r

4c 5c 1

4c 5a 0.33333r

5c 3b -1.66666

so on and such forth the number and letter can be entered into seperate fields the lettering are only A,B,C but numbers can range from 1-9 i am normally quite ept with excel but this is out of my depth

I want to input pick 3 (3 numbers) into a cell and with the assigned SUM to that cell to add +123 to the 3 numbers I input, but how do I get the answer not to carry over?

For pick 3 games, the numbers are; 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 (ten total).

When I add +123 to 987 I get 1110. I don't want that. I would like it to show 010 instead, lotto numbers no carry over.

I have a row A through N. In cell A1, have a dollar amount. In cells C1 through N1, I have different dollar amounts. In cell O1, I want to have a formula that will take the dollar figure in A1 and subtract from that amount the total of all the amounts in cells C1 thorugh N1. But I don't know how to write that formula.

Let's say I've got $100 in A1, and then in C1 through N1, I have $2, $3, $4, etc. for a total amount of $94 in cells C1 through N1. I'd like to have a formula in O1 that would show $6.

How to write up that formula in cell O1.

Imagine I have cells A1 to A5 with a sequence of "numbers" like this:

A1 = 50-55

A2 = 45-67

A3 = 56-90

A4 = 49-80

A5 = 51-55

The left hand side numbers represent a score a minus sign (-) to separate and the right hand side represent another score. I want a formula that I can add, subtract, divide, average, etc, etc these numbers.

If I want to add the left hand scores, for example, cells A1 to A3, sum would be 151 (50 + 45 + 56).

Ive attached a spreadsheet showing what im trying to achieve. basically i have a scheduling objective, in which only a few slots (AA, BB, CC) are available. so the starting availability is fixed. for this example assume the starting values are 6,7, and 8 respectively. as 'bookings' are entered, im using the value of -1 against A, B, or C respectively, to indicate that AA, BB, or CC should be decreased by 1 unit of availability.

im trying to incorporate the subtraction within a pivot table. as you can see i am way off. the hypothetical formula logic that im trying to implement within the PivotTable would look something like this:

for A,B or C, sum all (-1) values for each instance of Date and Stage... this will give total bookings

add this total value to the starting values of AA, BB, CC respectively to get the new availability

I have a code that inserts a new column after every 7th column. I want to include a formula where every 7th column value is subtracted from the values present in the column before the 1st, or you can think of it as subtracting 7th column of the present group from the 7th column of the previous group. Example: The range of my data starts from col F, then

F (7th) New Column (G) H (1st) I (2nd) J (3rd) K (4th) L (5th) M (6th) N (7th) New Column (O) P (1st) Q (2nd) R (3rd)

So, New Column (O) = N - F

and the next New Column (W) = V-N ...

NOTE: Column G can be ignored.

I want to add a looping function to this so that it will continue to subtract for the other respective columns as well. How do I incorporate this into the following code?

I have a workbook to record the attendance of students. Sheet attendance9 for September's attendance. Enter 1 for present, 0 for absent, L for late, E for early leave and blank cell for no schoolday. I have is a cell with a begining balance and a cell witha current balance.

I also have a column in which each expenditure will be placed ina cell in that column in sequential order.

What i want to do is take the value in the first cell of the expenditure column and subtract it from the begining balance and the place the result in the current balance.

But after the first cell i will need to subtract each value from its previous value to continue counting down so to speak.

I am at a loss on how to move the last value which will also be the lowest value in the column to the cueent balance cell.

I have a mass of data which look something like this:

table removed

and I require the ranges of reference numbers to be listed in a column one above the other, which requires inserting new rows. I also need the date & description columns copied down into the newly inserted rows.

So basically for example I would want the top row to now read:

table removed

and then apply the same procedure to the other ranges below this.

This is what I need:

Columns B, C, D & E are all populated with 3 digit numbers.

I would like column F to automatically populate with any of the 3 digit numbers that share two numbers, i.e.

F2 might look like this (using 00 as the pair):

001, 040

F3 might look like this (using 01 as the pair):

701, 051, 110, 001, 120

F4 might look like this (using 12 as the pair):

123, 721, 281, 912, 112, 120

etc...

I'm working on a spreadsheet with about 400 rows and 10 columns. All the numbers in the columns are formatted as text, which doesn't allow me to use AutoSum. I have selected the cells and formatted them as number with no decimals, but AutoSum still doesn't work because the formatting hasn't changed and they're still formatted as text. I know if I double click each cell, the cell changes the format from text to number, but that will take a lot of time to change 400 cells in each of the 10 columns. What can I do to quickly reformat the cells from text to number?

I have taken over this spreadsheet for my work, and it is basically a statement in excel. What I want to do is find a list of invoice numbers in column B populated from a remittance, and then replace column F to say a specific thing depending on check number and date paying for that invoice. So if a check printed today I would have it replace column f to say paid 1/31/13 check # xxxxx. Currently I am searching for each invoice indivudually and then replacing with check number and date. There are about 200 invoices per month that I deal with, and it is a big waste of time!

For example from this

invoice #1 / reconciled (DATE)

invoice #2 / reconciled (DATE)

To this:

invoice #1 / paid (DATE) check # (xxxxx)

invoice #2 / paid (DATE) check # (xxxxx)

How would you set up a macro to delete numbers in a spreadsheet in one column that appear in another column or worksheet?

In other words, if I have the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, 10 in one column and in the same column, or another column or worksheet I have the numbers 1,2,3,4,5 - I need a way to delete 1,2,3,4,5. I know how to delete duplicates via the advanced filter but I want to have the duplicate and original deleted.

I have a worksheet which basically tracks time. the time is reported in Column C. In that row in Column E, there is a validation list with about 6 different categories in it. On the side of this "table" I have a list of all the categories and I want a value to be next to it that reports the sum of time (C) for each category (E).

So for the "Routing" category, I would want the value to be the sum of just data on the timesheet that have "routing" in Column E.
