Cannot See Rows At The Bottom Of Spreadsheet?
Mar 3, 2014
I have approx 150 rows on my spreadsheet, but I am having difficulty viewing the bottom rows. The slider bar on the right hand side actually disappears on the bottom of the page. I am using windows 8. changed the tool bars and that worked, but I want to see the tool bars.

I'm working my way through a list of companies on an excel spreadsheet and making some notes.
After i've spoken to them its a simple keep them on the sheet in the current position or highlight the row red and move to the bottom or when they become a customer highlight green and move to the bottom.
I have a coloumn called customer (J) is it possible if i put a Y in that cell to make the row green and move to the bottom and also if i put a N in the column make the row green and move to bottom.

I would like to know if there is a way to expand the selection of cells from the current cell you are on to the very bottom cell available in the spreadsheet.
For example, I want to apply a formula from A12 - the very last A cell row in the spreadsheet.

I was wondering if it is possible to hide a column(s) but still have data in that column be visible at the bottom of the spreadsheet. For example, if I hide column G can it only hide the column from rows 1 - 50 and then the column will appear after row 50?

I am only using 581 rows in my worksheet. Excel's scrollbar lets me scroll down to 682...
I have tried everything from Google ranging from...
- Selecting all the blank rows, deleting them via right click menu
- Saving and re-opening the workbook
- Running pre-made macros, making my own macros

A common process is to select one or more entire rows. Is there a way wth VBA after working on the slected row or rows to have curosr drop below the last row and select just the next row eg. I selected entire row 1045 then when done the cursor will drop down one row and select row 1046. However, if on rows 1045, 1046 and 1047 that the cursor would drop down and select row 1048.

Is it possible to use the import external data function in excel to import only the bottom 1000 rows from a database? Right now I've only been successful at importing all the data but I only want the last x number of rows. The database is currently an excel file.

Note: Split from: VBA to insert page breaks at a blank with varying blck size
I would like my macro to add empty lines to each pages not completely filled. (you know when it removes a block from a page, there's always some free space at the bottom of that page) Is it possible to add blank row (from a certain template on another sheet that I have) until it's full?

I've attached a dummy worksheet that shows constant values of 1.00 in columns D and E. In the actual workbook, user action will sometimes cause these values to change to something other that 1.00. The user may wish to delete the action that caused the change.
I need a macro that will search from the last cell in column D upward to the first instance of a cell that is not equal to 1.00 and select that cell and those immediately above with the same value as the first found cell.
For example, in the attached worksheet the search would start in the last cell of Columd D and search upward. It would find cell D23 and upward to D19. These entire rows would be deleted.

My spreadsheet has 600rows and the vertical scroll bar ends at row 459424. I have attempted to delete all of the extra rows by holding SHIFT and CTRL, striking the down arrow then right-clicking on the left margin of highlighted row numbers and choosing delete.
But the unwanted rows are still there and my vertical scroll bar is not correlated to the 600 rows.

I have used a formula to achieve this before which seemed to work although now it seems to be replacing other data already in the worksheet so I am unsure of how to fix, thinking I should just start again.
The file in question is a tracker of activities, Column A (sheet1) is the Status and once the status is "Closed" I need to run a macro that copies all closed activities to Sheet5 at the bottom of previous closed activities. Once this is done I already have a macro to delete all "closed" activities from Sheet1 meaning that it is vital the new closed activities stack onto the bottom of previous closed activities.
The Column Headers start on Row 11 with activities running from Column 12.

I have got a spreadsheet with many rows of data. One row is product name and the other is date written. Now I want to calculate how long these entries have been on the log. So lets say I have 10 entries called Pension all with different dates and 10 entries called ISA with different dates. So first I need it to look for all the proucts called "Pension" and then to work out how many are 0-3 weeks old and so on. So i want it to look like this but a formula to work it out for me and to update it automatically.
0-3 Weeks 4-6 Weeks 7-9 Weeks 10 Weeks +
Pension 4 3 3 1
ISA 3 4 1 2
(this does not display very well here but I hope you understand what I mean)
I am using Excel 2003 and I dont think it as a WEEKS function so I will do it in days and then devide by 7.
I know that to look for the product i use
=COUNTIF(H:H,"Pension")
The H:H is because the product is on colum H on my spreadsheet
I know to find the date it is
=TODAY()
So to work out something 3 weeks old it would be
=TODAY()-21

I have a spreadsheet that contains traffic count data for a two lane road. The data is by direction, by hour, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year so the data is basically 2X 365 = 730 rows of data.
I need to simply add the two directions together for each hour of each day, basically add two rows together, drop down to the next two rows and add them together, repeat.
I need the result as stand alone data on another spreadsheet so the Data, Subtotals operation provided by Excel won’t work for me but something similar that puts the data on another spreadsheet would work.
I also tried to use a formula in the new spreadsheet that added two cells in two rows on the original spreadsheet together and then repeated that process a few times and then tried to drag the formula down but couldn’t get it to repeat correctly.

I've got spreadsheet I use to control the inventory of my user equipment; who has it, what is it, where is it, etc.
I'd like to "lock" multiple consecutive cells of each row so that they never seperate. This is because they need to be together. However, periodically, I need to move, sort, or rearrange the sheet.
Is there a way I can "idiot proof" this so that these cells never come unlocked from each other?
There is no vba involved (primarily because I don't know how), and no other scripting either.

I have a very large spreadsheet (about 50,000 rows, and to CM of columns) with blocks of data 20 rows high (rows 1-20 are from Building A, rows 21-40 are from Building B, etc). However, not every row in each block of 20 has information in it - some are just placeholders. For example, some blocks may have rows 1-18 filled with data while other blocks may have only 1-6 filled with data. I am interested in programming a macro that would delete the placeholder rows out of the spreadsheet based on a certain criteria. This would probably halve the size of my spreadsheet.
In faux-
For row i
i = 1 to 50,000
If Column B = #NA
Delete row i
Is this something that can be done with a macro, or do I need to go through all of these rows by hand? Obviously, I haven't programmed macros before (I've taken code and run it), but I've programmed in other languages (Java, C#). Could someone point me in the right direction?

I've created the code below from scratch (ever so proud of myself even though it's basic lol)
Dim N As Long
Dim LR As Long
N = Range("A2").Value
LR = Application.WorksheetFunction.CountIf(Worksheets("Overview").Range("AJ:AJ"), N)
For N = 1 To LR
Here, 'N' is a project number. This code succesfuly counts the number of sub-tasks linked that that project in my data sheet. Now I want to bring all those rows into my template spreadsheet, but dont know how to start

Is it possible to move rows of data in a spreadsheet to multiple spreadsheet accordingly?
I had lists of tasks in a single spreadsheet and i need to segregate the tasks for all my staff in serial while no duplication among all of them. For instance, i got 4 personals in my department and i need the 1st 4 tasks to be distribute to each of them and next 4 tasks accordingly. This is due to all tasks are equip with due date and i need to calculate how much time i need to accomplishing them. i'm used to manually move it and found it time consuming, so i was wondering if someone would instruct me where or how to achieve it by using a simple macro.
