I have a cell containing a mixed text and number value e.g wk16 and would only like the number to change if I put a formula in.
For example, if i change my master cell A1 to wk15, I would like A2 to automatically change to wk18 or wk12 etc depending on the the formula
Every time I try = A1+3 I get #VALUE! appear in the cell.
I cannot change the cell so it contains a number as I am using Lookup functions.
How do I change a Positive number into a Negative number inside a cell formula?
I have a figure in Cell AE 101 which has the positive number 141
I have another cell W1 which has the positive number of 437
I want to create a formula in cell X1 that takes the number in cell AE 101 of 141 and convert the number inside the formula of 141 into a negative number of -141 and then subtracts that number from Cell W1 of 437 leaving an equation inside the formula to read. 437-141 = 296
Since the number in Cell W1 changes all the time and the number in AE101 Changes all the time the new formulated number in X1 will change all the time too as the cells get updated.
i want to fill down a column and instead of my formula changing from A6 to A7 i want it to change to B6.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 2 columns in a a sheet, some cells in the second (not all cells) contains the current month's number (it comes after the multiplication sign in those formulas).
i need a macro that allows me automatically to advance the month's number each month in this formula (just the month's number), if it's 1 advance to 2, 2 to 3, 12 to 1 etc....
see a example of my formulas below, the formulas are in colomn B, the month number is whatever comes after * (multiplication sign).
example:
5500/11*12
12000*12+55000
=A2/11*12+55000

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am having slight trouble with the formatting of some cells. Every month I will be copying data into a row, the problem is Excel thinks it's a date instead of an integer of some sort.
The value copied will look something like this:
79:42:00
(meaning 79 hours and 42 minutes)
Excel is taking that and interpreting it as:
1/3/1900 7:42:00 AM
Is there an easy way to format this so Excel thinks it's a number (even if 79.7).
I tried to change the format of the cell to "Text", but it changes it to: 3.32083333333333

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm making a Excel 2013 spreadsheet that has formula in a column that auto enters a number 1-40 when something is entered to the left of that cell. There are 300 rows in the spreadsheet. I would like to make a drop down list in a column cell to the right that would delete that number in that cell from the drop down list. For example cell C1 has 39, that 39 then is deleted from the drop down list. C2 has 22 in it, click on the drop down list cell and it shows 1-40 less 39 and 22.

The problem is that GP% needs to be in a percentage format and revenue per product needs to be in number format. 500 is now shown as 50000% or 50% will be shown as 0.5 for example. I'm wanting a range of cells within a row to change the number format to "[hh]:mm" based on a value in the 2nd column of that row. I have played about with a few things and can't seem to get it to work. What I have so far is this:
I want to incoroprate into my Workbook a sheet with a list of phone numbers, that sheet can be added to and more numbers entered if necessary and will be called "DATA"
The questions is this. If one of those numbers in the "DATA" sheet is entered in any other sheet in the workbook can the cell that number has been written on (not the one on the data sheet) be made to change colour?
Can I change the color of a cell based on my deviation from the number based above it? I am making a golf spreadsheet to base my performance off of, and I was wondering if I could make the cell change color based on my performance on the hole (different color for how many strokes above or under par). If anyone has any idea on this issue, please let me know.
Format the number in Column AL to '[hh]:mm' when Column C's value is ="P/T", otherwise format to 'General'
Column C's value is referenced from another sheet in the same workbook via a VLOOKUP function.
Column AL's value is based on an IF formula which goes like this:
=IF($C4="F/T",SUM($AJ4)+($AK4/2),SUM($D4:$AH4))
Basically the above formula asks if Column C's value is F/T then count (because if F/T then the corresponding values in that row are whole numbers). If not, then SUM (because if P/T the corresponding values in that row are set to [hh]:mm format).
I have another sheet in the same workbook which has code (quoted below) which does something similar but I don't understand it enough to get it doing what I want for the sheet in question.

I am doing a spread sheet for to enter the times that i do in a rally.
So if i post a time of 00:49.3 and the target time is 03:54.3 i want the cell to turn red, or if the set time is less then the target time it should be green.

I'm trying to use the formula vlookup, but running into trouble. I'd like to use =VLOOKUP(3000&A1,E:F,2,0) but this isn't working correctly because it doesn't recognize "3000&A1" as a number? Is there a way to do this? This will be used in a VBA code, so I prefer the solution in VBA, but either way is fine. See attached for more info.

I know it would probably be a Worksheet_Calculate Sub but cannot seem to find one that works. The time stamp would be put into column H and the first row of data is row 3.
