Centre Columns In Macro

Nov 9, 2006

I may be being a bit of a tool here, but I can't find a way to centre colums without selecting the columns (ie using with selection, centre, end with). I've written some variations below, none of which work.

Sheets("Journal").Columns(6).HorizontalAlignment = x1HAlignCenter

or

Range("F:F").HorizontalAlignment = x1Center

VBA Macro To Create Multiple Workbooks From One Master Workbook By Cost Centre

Jun 27, 2013

VBA Macro to work through a worksheet that consist of static data (tab 4) cost centres and to populate a new work book per cost centre consisting of three tabs for every cost centre found in the static data.

The master Workbook has the following tabs:

Tab 1 is called travel and consist of column a which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns)

Tab 2 is called Mobile and consist of column a which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns)

Tab 3 is called Expenses. and consist of column a which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns)

Tab 4 Static Date column 1 cost centre number and consist of column 1 which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns).

If no information found on a specific cost centre, the tab will include the headers and return the words "No transactions for this period"

Whilst splitting data into Tabs the workbooks should check against the Static Data table and include cost center description in Column B of each tab in the new workbook.

If master workbook consist of the following....

Tab 1 is called travel and consist of column 1 which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns), cost centres, 555,557,

Tab 2 is called Mobile column 1 cost centre number and consist of column 1 which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns) cost centres, 555, 78689,

Tab 3 is called Expenses. column 1 cost centre number and consist of column 1 which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns), cost centres, 555,

tab 4 Static Date - column 1 cost centre number and consist of column 1 which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns). cost centres, 555, 557,78689

It should output 3 workbooks by cost centre number.

One for 555, which consists of 3 tabs, travel, mobile and expenses.

A second for 557 which has 3 tabs travel, mobile and expenses, but only with data in the travel tab.

A third for 78689 which has 3 tabs travel, mobile and expenses, but only with data for mobile data.

The workbooks will be replicates of the contents within the tabs where column a wil be the cost centre plus 14 additional columns.

Way To Check Whether Any Cost Centre Has Been Missed Out ...

Nov 20, 2009

I attached a workbook and it shows data in row 2 - 960. and in cells BA1574 -BM1604 are the summary by using 'sum if' function. As you can see, row 160 countercheck the results and it shows differences.

So my questions are

1) any formula that i can use to ensure all cost centres are taken up in Col AZ1574 - AZ1604? I am sure that i have missed something out.

2) My goal is to summarise the total of each cost centre. Is there other options to reach this goal apart from using 'sum if' function? I would like to learn something new.

Macro To Unhide Columns - Call A Macro Then Revert Columns To Previous State

Jul 17, 2014

I have on sheet1 a number (72 at the moment) of Form CheckBoxes.

In simple terms: I would like a macro to look at each CheckBox and remember its state (Checked or Unchecked)

Then, go through and Check All checkboxes

Call MyMacro

Once MyMacro is complete (Filtering & Printing)

Revert the checkboxes to their original state.

The purpose of the checkboxes:

When Checked column on sheet2 is UnHidden
When UnChecked column on sheet2 is Hidden

Or, UnHide All columns on sheet2, run MyMacro, then "re-hide" the columns that were previously hidden.

Building Macro That Runs Another Macro Based On Certain Columns

Jun 6, 2012

Essentially, I am working with a database for a school and up until this point, each row matches up to a student with a bunch of information on them. One of these pieces of info is their parent's names. This is a much simplified look at things, but the screenshot below is a basic version of what everything looks like:

Now, the school wants me to split up the parents names from the student's and place them in their own row. I have recorded a macro to do this where you make the active cell the "full name" column for the row you want to expand, and then run the macro. Afterwards, up to two more rows are added, with the parent's names and some data copied. Below is a screenshot of what that looks like: (yellow is the new data generated, and blue is the active cell I marked to run the macro properly)

The issue is that there are thousands of these that need to be done, and I figured there is a way to do this with a macro. The issue is that not every row has parents names to expand out.

In layman's terms, I need a macro that will look at the two columns titled "Father's Name" and "Mother's Name" on each row of the spreadsheet and then, if there is any data in both or either of them, it should set the active cell to the "Full Name" column for that row then run the macro accordingly. After that it should repeat this all the way down, skipping any where neither of the columns have text in them

In the actual spreadsheet, the columns that need to be checked are AW and AX, and the column that needs to be set to the active cell before running the macro is B.

Copying Columns From One Tab To Another Via Macro

Dec 17, 2013

I have 2 tabs (tab 1 is "Data", tab 2 is "Compare")

Data tab is filled with results from tests I do in a lab, each test has its own row, each 'test subject' has its own column.

In the second tab I want to have the ability to pick from a drop down list one of the other columns from the first tab.

So I have 2 columns (D and F) in tab 2 with drop down lists that I have populated with the names of the test subjects (using data validation grabbing the top row in tab 1).

I have formulas set up in Column E of tab 2 for the actual comparison.. What I'd like to do is when I select a test subject (for example SubjectA), from the drop down list in $D$1.. I want to populate $D$3:$D$155 with rows 3-155 of the matching column in tab 1 (so if for example SubjectA is in column X, it would copy from tab 1 X3:X155 to tab 2 D3:D155.

So so far I have the validation part done with the drop down list.. and I have the following VB code for tab 2.

Macro To Save Columns As CSV

My data currently looks like this:

A B C D
E12144116501367923134587310715136781403013910587415223136808724234615258

A.csv and contains only this data:

A

Macro That Allow For Inserting New Columns?

Oct 17, 2012

I have recorded a basic macro that allows me to copy a formulas in cells CF11 to CH11, and it pastes it into cells in columns CJ to CL. Copy of code is below if you need it.

The issue I have is that I need to insert new coumns into the worksheet, and I need to copy the formulas from columns CF to CH, and they will now need to pasted to columns CN to CP. Note that this is a monthly report where we keep the prior months, so each month will need to add new columns. There are 8 tabs in the workbook, and they all use the same macro, just over different rows (columns all line up).

Is there a way that I can get the macro to paste into the correct column without me having to adjust the macro each time?

Copy of code is as follows:

Range("CF11:CH11").Select
Selection.Copy
Range("CJ11").Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteFormulas, Operation:=xlNone, _
SkipBlanks:=False, Transpose:=False
Range("CJ20:CL20").Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteFormulas, Operation:=xlNone, _

Macro / VBA To Use 2 Columns In 1 Sort

May 13, 2013

I am trying to write a Macro to basically do a lot of redundant formatting for me and I am stuck on one part of this code. Everything else works just dandy, but I am having the darndest time getting this Macro to sort by 2 columns instead of just 1.

I did the basic first step and recorded myself sorting the datasheet by both columns in 1 sort and got the code, but the problem is that the number of rows will change day-to-day, week-to-week, and so on, so I need it to not specify a cell number as the end of the range.

While searching around, I saw a very handy little piece of VBA code that will search for a header name, which is really nice because that would make it much easier to share this Macro with my coworkers who have different reports that all have columns in different locations.

So, I have a multi-part question. I will start with the most important one:

How do I alter this to not specify A9590 and D9590 as the last cells in those ranges?

ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("Date XREF").Sort.SortFields.Clear
ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("Date XREF").Sort.SortFields.Add Key:=Range( _
"A6:A9590"), SortOn:=xlSortOnValues, Order:=xlAscending, DataOption:= _
xlSortNormal
ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("Date XREF").Sort.SortFields.Add Key:=Range( _
"D6:D9590"), SortOn:=xlSortOnValues, Order:=xlAscending, DataOption:= _
xlSortNormal

[code]....

Is there a way to have the Macro find where the header row is? The header rows in our reports can appear anywhere from Row 1 to Row 8 depending on how the report is set up (usually we have some information about the data, date range, etc at the top).

Dim c As Integer
With ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("Date XREF").Range("A5").CurrentRegion
c = .Find(What:="Assignment ID", After:=.Cells(1, 1), LookIn:=xlFormulas, _
LookAt:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext, _
MatchCase:=False).Column
.Sort Key1:=.Cells(1, c), Order1:=xlDescending, Header:=xlYes, _
OrderCustom:=1, MatchCase:=False, Orientation:=xlTopToBottom
End With
