Dec 23, 2011I have a userform with 70 toggle buttons, the buttons are arranged in 7 columns and 10 rows, hence I named each button c1r1 to c7r10.
The button captions will change, so I want to take the captions from cell contents: worsheet 'Buttons' and the range A1:A70
I can do this long hand...

I guess a loop would be better. Here's my code that does not work..
I was just going to insert word 'works' for now until I get the loop to work.
I'd also have to get a loop inside this loop, ie when the column number is 1, it needs to loop through the rows numbers, before it loops to column 2.
I guess I might be able to do that, but I fall at the first hurdle, I get Error 424, object required. I guess it does not like 'buttonaddress.caption'
Do I need to declare or dim 'buttonadress'?

Feb 1, 2008Currently I have 5 identical command buttons which do something similar but in a different cell.
What i want to do is sum up the 5 different task using a single command button.
When cmdaddsp1 is clicked the first time cell "B4" is populated with a value from a table.
When cmdaddsp1 is clicked a second time cell "B5" is to be populated with a value from a table.
When cmdaddsp1 is clicked a third time cell "B6" is to be populated from the table,
and so forth.
Is there a loop or anything that can be used for this? I only want other cells to be populated when the command button is pressed.

CommandButton1 is called MANAGERS GROUPS (macro called Split Sheets)

It was working before as i just used rectangle shapes as the buttons but have since removed these shapes and used the CommandButtons

What I would like to do is when the user presses a command button say on sheet 1 he is asked for a password which will unhide the Rates sheet . If he gets it wrong a message pops up say incorrect please try again or have an exit button to cancel.

May 24, 2006I am trying to create a program to automate the gauging figures on oil barges, currently everything is done by hand and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. I have the charts entered for the tanks already and have the code set so that when you click on a tank "gauge" it will enter the "volume" which corresponds to that gauge on a totals sheet. Here is where my problem is coming in
The barges are gauged at four points
"before loading"
"after loading"
"before discharge"
"after discharge"
I want to set a worksheet as the default page with four command buttons that let the user select which operation he wants to perform. before load figures. after load figures and depending on which operation they select have it enter the volumes in the appropriate cells on the totals sheet. Feb 3, 2010How can I return name of a command button on click? I want to create some sort buttons on a sheet I will use regularly to speed things up. I thought if I could call each sort button by the column letter the button sits in I can use this in a single sub for all buttons
e.g the button sitting in column A is called "A". when i click the button, it returns it's name to a variable which I can then use to sort column A. I know I could create a seperate routine for each button but I was just trying to think of something neater.

"unable to get the buttons property of the Worksheet class"
P.S one other thing, say the button is in row 3, and Cells A1 and A2 are merged, when you click the button in row 3, it should extend the merge to A3.

Jul 29, 2008I have searched this topic but I came up with nothing regarding my exact situation.
I have 5 buttons on sheet 1. I want them to all direct me to another sheet in the same workbook. However, some buttons will contain more than one sheet.
Example: Button 1 will direct me to 4 different sheets. Is this possible?
Also, When I open the workbook, I see many sheets that I am working from but I do not want them to show up when I open the workbook. The only way to see these sheets is to click on the command buttons at the top of sheet 1.
