Is there any formula available that can change a number in words in to another cell . Like 500 became Five hundred & 9000 became Nine thousand below.

I want to sort on number of words, i.e. if a cell contains 1 or 2 words etc, with the cells containing 1 word coming first then cells containing 2 words. Also, if possible, first the cells with fewer characters.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was handed an Excel Spreadsheet containing a list of names. Within the sheet there are three names (Elizabeth, Amy, and Daniel) that contain upper and lower case letters. The desire is that all names are in CAPS. However, these three names refuse to remain as CAPS when overwritten in the cell. As a note, other names can be typed in those cells and will successfully remain as typed, either U/L case or all CAPS. Another note, if the Replace feature is used, the names remain as Replaced.

statements will not go further than 8 levels. The month function will not

i have a column of numbers. every so often in the column, there is the word 'start'. the amount of numbers between each 'start' varies, but i would like to put a 1 or a 0 in the column next to each number. i would like the second highest ranking number to get a 1 and all the others to get a 0.
if the first and second numbers between two starts are equal, then i would like all numbers between the 'start' to get a 0.
for example:

So, I essentially, want any words that appear between "Unit" and the first number that appears before the $ sign (in this case 13 and 15 respectively, but the numbers can be anything - "Unit" stays the same down the list).

but the the cells have line breaks so this formula won't work
I've understood that since there is a space before the new line, the formula will not recognise the space and therefore not recognise a new word.

I've been using conventional method to do this and it's time consuming. I would like to total up 2 column. A multiply B to be exact. Below are some examples:

Please note, the date will change with each record, so I need to figure out how to tell Excel to find "Priviledge1", delete it and the date behind it. On to the topic, I have all the US and Canadian states abbreviated (CO = Colorado, etc.) and was wondering if there is a way to make all of them convert to their respective names in one fell swoop instead of writing it in for each one, one at a time. Something along the lines where I can make, CO = Colorado, TX = Texas and then hit enter and all of the abbreviations would convert. Some kind of command.

I have attached an example spreadsheet where I am looking for a result of 7 rows that contain 1 to 4 specific words within phrases. View 5 Replies View RelatedI know the basics of excell, but haven't ever written any formulas or macros (if that's what I need?) that would perform the following opperations. Bare with me, it's a three step process.
1. I need any zero's to the right of the last number (1-9)
to be removed. (I think this can be done with the click of a button, somewhere?)
examples:
a. 173.17300 = 173.173
b. 231.11000 = 231.11
c. 53.00000 = 53.
2. I also need for the decimal to be moved to the right of the last number after the zeroes have been removed from the previous step. (This seems to be the most deficult step, but most important for me.)
examples:
a. 173.173 = 173173
b. 231.11 = 23111
c. 53. = 53
3. I then need to be able to cross reference those remaining numbers with a set of numbers I have.
examples:
Remaining Numbers / My List
a. 173173 / Not on list
b. 23111 / MATCH
c. 53 / Not on list
My question is i try to change the numbers in to min and sec like this here below.
Table row:
300 > in to this 3:00 and not like this > 00:03:00

that all automatic for the whole row.
Is that possible ?
