I am trying to open excel files located in single folder from files name (along with the path) in single worksheet (Column B and Row 1 to 500).
I have created follwing code which opens the file and then runs a macro in it.
a Sub Test()
Dim strFName As String
strFName = Sheet1.Range("B2").Value

I have this invoice spreasheet and I would like to when I excecute a macro to print, I would also like to use a PDFwritter to automaticly save/print the pdf file to a location and to ad the invoice number to the name like.
INV"current invoice here".
Bellow is the code I currently have. I am pretty sure this was done as I have some invoices saved but now it doesn't work.
Code:
Sub Check_Info()
If Range("AR1") = Empty Then
MsgBox "No Customer selected!", vbInformation, "Customer..."
Range("AR1").Select

How to pull data with a VLOOKUP to a file located on a Server.
My big problem is not understanding the syntax of the Server location. I've provided it below (obviously with some character changes).
I have a file located on my Hard Drive. I need to perform a VLOOKUP from A2 on this spreadsheet. The File on the Server is called "LookupTest.xls". The Range of Data is from Sheet 1 and is from A2:C4 and I need to pull the data from column C depending on what is selected from A2 from the file on my HD. I understand how to use VLOOKUP, just not when I'm pointing to another file on a Server.
Server mapping from Windows Explorer:
rbbabc$ on 'RP17409 - ABC Database (AHSSRVVN678.tge.com)'
Again, that server mapping is fake, as I changed it, but this is how it looks on Windows Explorer.
I'm trying to keep a master file of Data on a spreadsheet found on a server so that one master file can be updated, and several other tools pull from that Master File on VLOOKUP, Validation Lists, etc.
I am looking to automate our daily sales report.
I am aware of the windows task scheduler.
However, I'd like for this report to run and be sent out very early in the morning (5AM) before I'm even at work.
My computer is usually off because it's with me as I'm commuting into the office.
These files are saved out on our network drive.
Is there a way I can "open" the file and run the macro I have that builds my sales reports with my computer being off?
I am getting a #name? error in certain cells for a file that is located on our domain controller. This file will work only on certain computers. I did not make the file, but since it works on certain computers, I can only assume that it is not a function error. We are running Office 2003.

Filename = "D:TempBudgetMonthly.xls"
FileExists = (Dir(Filename) "")
If FileExists = False Then
msg = "The data file Monthly.xls does not exist !! Load the required file and run the report again !"
If MsgBox(msg, vbExclamation + vbOKCancel) = vbOK Then

I need code to replace all D: to C: for the entire PROJECT not MODULE.
I have a file which is kept on the C Drive. Each day, a different excel file is downloaded to a usb memory stick. The first file reads data from this file. The problem is, the drive letter keeps changing from E to F and the macro then crashes out.
The file on the memory stick always has the same name, so is there a macro to find the drive letter of this file and then use it in my existing macro?
I want to write a macro that would go to a certain drive and search for a file?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIf you don't know what the drive letter will be, because on other people's computer it could be different than what you have.
I only have the folder address

I made an excel sheet that links to other sheets on a different drive. It works while I am making it, but upon save and reopen all the hyperlinks produce this error: The address of this site is not valid. Check the address and try again.

I am trying to move and rename an excel template file using a macro. My code works fine when it is moving the file locally on my C: drive. However, when I try to do it on a mapped network drive I get a Path/File access error. Here is the relevant code:

I tried it both ways that are commented out - both give me the error. I have permissions to read/write in all relevant folders. What am I missing here?
How to download the zip file from internet explorer and save it into c: using VBA codes.

I've made a macro that would create some folders on a shared drive.

I get this error.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble creating a hyperlink to a place in the current document for a file stored on a network drive. My workbook has a lot of sheets (50 or so), so I created a 'Navigation' sheet that contains hyperlinks to all the worksheets located therein, and pasted a link back to the Navigation sheet in cell A1 on every tab.
Setting up these Navigation sheets has never a problem until I started posting the file on a network drive. As soon as I did that, I noticed that the internal hyperlinks on all sheets in the workbook would stop working after I closed the file in Excel. Note that this network drive is not set as a drive letter on my computer, and is only accessible by entering the server ip address in Windows Explorer.
An example address the hyper is trying (and failing) to open is: "file:///\ IP ADDRESS sub-folders activefile.xlsm"
I've tried a few options, using the HYPERLINK formula, using the HYPERLINK feature in the Insert ribbon, etc, but all to no avail.
I want to list file names from a directory and sub directories and hyperlink them. I have been able to list the file names onto an excel sheet, but I cannot get it to hyperlink to the file.

I am trying to allow users to select a file, and then the file name/ the file path / and date are added.
Right now, all those functions work in the following code, but the file path shows up as a letter drive. As there could be upwards of 50 people using this file and the mapped drive could be different, i wanted the full path to be displayed.
Code:
Private Sub File_1_overwrite_Click()
Dim filename As Variant
Dim filename1 As Variant
filename = Application.GetOpenFilename(, , "Select Programme")
filename1 = filename
filename1 = Mid(filename, InStrRev(filename, "") + 1)
File_1_link = filename
file_1_name = filename1
File_1_date = Format(Date, "MM/DD/YY")
I am currently creating a simple macro to save out files to a specific folder on one of our network drives. Since we will be doing this often I would like to amend the date the the file name saved for sorting/organizational purposes.
Unfortunately I have been running into a few issues, this is what I have tried so far but keep getting a SaveAs error:
Code:
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:="vosinsharedClient Implementation TeamDC Tools" &
"Copy DC Conversion WB_2014 " & Format(Date, "yyyymmdd") & ".xlsx", FileFormat:=xlNormal
I have also tried:
Code:
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:="vosinsharedClient Implementation Team
DC ToolsCopy DC Conversion WB.2014_" & _
Format(Now(), "YYYYMMDDhhmmss") & ".xlsx", FileFormat:=56
But still no avail. I believe it may have something to do with the file format but I am not sure. I am running Excel 2010.
I am trying to have a file print in legal size if I have 56 lines filled in
otherwise print in regular letter size. Does anyone know how to write this
in VBA.
with creating vb code that will select certain rows in a spreadsheet, set the print area to those rows and print them out, and then reset the print area back to default.
The data is all on one sheet, but is split into 5 different areas, each below the next, with the column headers at the top of each.
e.g.
header_____header_____header
data_______data_______data
data_______data_______data
data_______data_______data
header_____header_____header
data_______data_______data
data_______data_______data
data_______data_______data
and so on. At the press of a button it'll set the print area to the first section and print (the section includes the headers as well as the data). Then at the press of another button it'll set the print area to the next section. There could be any amount of rows of data in each section so it needs to cope with that.
Is it possible to print a PDF file from a macro? I want to have the pdf file specified by the user in a form to print when the macro is activated.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI inherited the following code from my predecessor:
ps_filename = "C:Example" & which_area_name & Cells(j, 6)
Sheets(sheets_name).Activate
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:=1, PrintToFile:=True, Collate:=True, prtofilename:=ps_filename
Which created postscript files from Excel. I used to run this code while logged on as my predecessor, becuase only she had write permissions on the relevant file (C:Example). However, her account has now been deleted from the system - I have reset the permissions on the folder so that I can write to it, but the PostScript files created do not work - I get the error message that the file is corrupted and cannot be opened, or that there is a syntax error. The files used to work fine when logged in as my predecessor - could it be that? I have also tried to run the code on a different machine/on a different excel file and the problem still occurs.
Making a macro that selects active cells (so anything with text in) and sets that as the print area.
Using the default builder I have:
Range("A1:AA44").Select
Range(Selection, Selection.End(xlDown)).Select
ActiveWindow.SmallScroll Down:=30
Range(Selection, Selection.End(xlUp)).Select
Range("A1:AA692").Select
ActiveSheet.PageSetup.PrintArea = "$A$1:$AH$692"
[Code]...
Can trim this code with something
Range("any containing data").Select
ActiveSheet.PageSetup.PrintArea = "selection"
I have 2 codes that set up different "print areas". Every time i run one of the codes the print area doesn't get set unless i run the same code again. So if i run code A which will set the print area with no issues and then right afterwards i run code B then code B's print area won't get set unless i run code B a 2nd time. And if i now i run code A, the same issue happens and the print area to Code A won't get set properly unless i run the code again.
Here is part of the code that discusses the print area:

Is there a way to Print VBA code in color, like how it appears on the screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 7 digit values in Col B12: down. I have sheets with names that match any one of these values. Is it possible for a macro to print all sheets in my workbook whose name matches one of the values in Col B cells 12:down??
I have some code to select a print area depending on wether or not there is data in a cell. The code I have so far partially works but not quite like I need it to. Here's what I have,
Sub selectprintarea()
Select Case True
Case Range("C5").Value > 0
Range("A1:M47").Select
ActiveSheet.PageSetup.PrintArea = "$A$1:$M$47"
Case Range("Q5").Value > 0
Range("A1:AA47").Select
ActiveSheet.PageSetup.PrintArea = "$A$1:$AA$47"
End Select
End Sub
It will select the print range if there is data in C5 but if there is data in C5 and Q5 it only selects the first print area. I know I need an "If - Else" or something of that nature but I cant figure that out. Also I need it to look at other worksheets not just the active one. I've tried a replacing the ActiveSheet with Worksheets (Sheet1). but that gives me an error.
I have a print code that I want to run on a loop. In column A Sheet UPSLabels, I have record numbers 1 through 94.
I have a vlookup in "C1" of another sheet that looks at the record number in "B1" and pulls in the correct information from UPSLabels based off the matchin record number in column A. I would like my code to print, update the number in "B1" by 1, and keep printing the records until it reaches 94.
I've probably supplied too much information, but the point is, I need the loop to run until "B1" reaches 94.
Sub print_loop()
Dim cnt As Range
Set cnt = Range("L1")
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:=cnt, Collate:=True
Range("b1") = Range("b1") + 1
End Sub
I have some code that Im trying to get to look at the sheets in my workbook and then based on if there is data in a cell and/or cells then select that sheet. Heres what I got so far thats not working. I get an error of Next without for.
