I set format condition in range by tool bar(=if formula is yes then display cell.interior.colorindex=3), but I have no idea how to find out (.address) the red colour cells are displayed in range with VBA?

I am trying to figure out how to run a macro for 1 particular workbook in an excel spreadsheet. I don't want it run on any of the other workbooks in that file, just the 1. I can't use conditional formatting because I need more than 3 values (if statements).
This is what one example of data in a cell and below is the color I'd like it to turn when I run the macro:
T: 6/1/07
A: 6/8/07
Anything that has a A: (which means an actual date it happened) I'd like the cell to turn blue. If there is an RT: (which means revised target) I'd like the cell to turn red which means it missed it's target date, and has been revised. If it has a TBD I'd like the cell to turn pink (or yellow or any color really). All other cells are just white. I don't know where to find the color codes in excel as well. Other samples of what cells look like are below.
Here is another example:
T: TBD
And final example:
T: 6/4/07
RT: 6/15/07
I have a spreadsheet with cells containing different names. I want all of the cells containing the word Volitility to be colored one color, all of the cells with the word Momentum colored another color, and so on. I have more than three names so I cannot use conditional formatting. Attached is a workbook that has the uncolored cells in worksheet 1 and an example of what I want it to end up looking like in worksheet 2.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have two work sheets where I have data.
Sheet1 contain daily input table which as follows:
Code:
Namesalary Bonus Check
XX1000 2 FN
XY900 1 NA
YY1100 2 FN
ZY1500 3 DP
ZZ1250 2 FN
AA1050 2 NA
AZ 950 1 FN
Sheet2 have table where all the information is saved. So we can say this is database of sheet1. Which store every day information of sheet 1.
Code:
SALARY DATABASE
Name SalaryBonus
What I want to do is that ---it copy all the data which fullfile condition FN and move to the Sheet 2 which is salary database. Two important things to check is that. IF name already exists in the sheet 2 then it replace old info with the new one. Second thing is to sort the whole table(Salary database-sheet 2) according to A-Z (Name column). I use office 2003. I hope I provide all the information.
I have a worksheet set up where one column of data (we shall call it "A") is the result of several other columns' calculations (uses a formula referencing other cells). I have an entirely separate cell that also gets its data from other cells (we shall call this "B"). What I'm trying to do is make the shading of column "A" dependent upon data from column "B". For example, if column "B's" value is >24, I want column "A" to shade in red.

For example, if the cell content is "1" I would like the color of the cell to be cyan and if the cell content is "2" I would like the color the cell to be red.

Im working on a large workbook with multiple worksheets. Each of these
worksheets has a large amount of data relating to training records. In
particular, the date that an employees certification is due to expire
(eg: 01/02/2007 or 31/09/2009 etc)...(im also in Australia so my date formats may be different).
I need to color code these records with the below logic, eg:
If Cell Date is <Today() = Red Text or Cell
If Cell Date is <18months from Today()+1 = Yellow Text or Cell
If Cell Date is >18months from Today() = No change - leave white
I have basic VBA knowledge, but will be able to work my way through
some of the code that is posted.
It's also key to note that there are multiple 'Blank' and 'Text' Cells
in these worksheets. I only want to apply this code to a cell if it is
populated with a date, is this possible ?? (eg: i only want to change
the color of the dates listed, not the other cells with text and single
numbers).
I have played around with the Conditional Formatting but i will need
more than 3 conditions in the future. I've also attached a small
screenshot of the data for your convenience.
I found the following code someware on the forum and have been using it for a while and it has been all good, however when I went to use it today it is coming up with Runtime error 1004 and highlights Range("H1") =MyDate.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Sheet ( Named "Summary" for Example ) of about 4,000 Rows that has a LOT of Conditional Formatting.
I Added Another 100 Rows this Morning and when I Tried Saving it a Message Saying that Not All the Formatting for the New Data that had Been Added had Been Saved. Is there a Macro or Something I can Run that will Make the Conditionally Formatted Cells Stay the Colour that they are but Delete the Conditional Formatting Part of it Achieved Using "Format" & "Conditional Format" from the Menu Please.
Ideally I would like to be Able to Enter the Number of Rows ( From Row ? to Row ? ) that I want this to Apply to.
I have a spreadsheet and in the "I" column, it can read either "OPEN" r "CLOSED". If that reads "OPEN", I want the whole row to turn green, if "CLOSED" I want it to turn red. I have fiddled around with conditional formatting and can seem only to change that one cell!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using the following code that I got from this forum to color tabs. But I can only get it to do two colors. Is there a way to get three conditional colors of tabs?

Case Is < 20

Case Is > 20, Is < 30

I'm working on a macro to change the color of the row between column W to AN if in column K the value is "FCA" (without quotes).
So far I have this, but it doesn't work:
Code:
Sub Test()
For Each cell In Range("K1", Cells(Rows.Count, "K").End(xlUp))
If InStr(1, cell, "FCA") Then
Range("W" & cell.Row & ":AN" & cell.Row).Interior.ColorIndex = 3
End If
Next cell
End Sub

Using conditional formatting is it possible shade an entire row when a cell is = to 0. I am currently creating a spreadsheet for a small amount of inventory. I am manually editing the amount of product available.
What I want to happen is when I replace them number with the text ‘Sold Out’ I want then entire row to automatically grey that row out. Is it possible to make this happen using conditional formatting?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have a report that I have code on that will change the color of a cell based on whats in the cell.( Code posted below) However I also need to look at $J and if the first letter of the value in that column is a "z" then I would like to change that whole row to icolor 13 (purple).
For example J14 might be "Z-Thomas". if it does I would like that row 14 to change to purple.
Also I would prefer that the solution be in VB, so that we do not have to do something in VB with the fix below AND do something in Conditional Formatting.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim icolor As Integer
If Not Intersect(Target, Range("$A:$E")) Is Nothing Then
Select Case Target
Case "y", "Y"
icolor = 4
Case "n", "N"
icolor = 3
Case "?"
icolor = 6
Afternoon everyone i am having abit of trouble working on an excel 2007 spreadsheet. In cell I1 i have a tab called Color. i want the cells below I1 to be filled with one of 3 colors green, yellow, or red depending on whats in cell F "Status" (closed or open - in progress) and cell G ECD for estimated completion date.
Green - i need it to fill green if status is closed. Yellow - need it to fill yellow if ECD is any date greater than today and if status is open. Red - need it to fill red if ECD is todays date or older and status is open.
I have a conditional cell that change color or not if condition...OK so far. Now, how can I change the color of a range of cells when condition is in just one cell. Ex:
If C15>=150, change (C3;C20) to yellow.
I really can't find the way to do it.
Is there a way to color fill an entire row based on a value in a certain column? Say I have a large file and one column is "yes" or "no" If I wanted all of the "yes" rows to be colored -
View 5 Replies View RelatedA friend is trying to change an entire row's color based on a specific cell's value in that row. He cannot use conditional formatting. This is the code he's tried, to no avail:
Sub temp()
totalrows = ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Rows.Count

If Cells(Row, 25).Value = 4 Then
Rows(Row).Select
Selection.Font.ColorIndex = 3

I have a selection on a worksheet that has 4 consistent columns (A, B, C, and D) each with a variable number of rows all containing string type data. With this data I want to use Conditional Formatting so that when I have a string value of X in column D for any row, that whole row with the X in column D has it's color change to say grey, this should happen regardless of what strings are in Columns A, B, or C.
Below is the way I've been trying to do this thus far and failing, when I run this code below I can only get it to grey out the cell with the X not the whole row.
Selection.FormatConditions.Delete
Selection.FormatConditions.Add Type:=xlCellValue, Operator:=xlEqual, _
Formula1:="=""x"""
Selection.FormatConditions(1) . Interior.ColorIndex = 16
I got 2 colums:
Column A: Column B:
EUR 1.00
USD 2.00
USD 3.00
EUR 4.00
As you may have guessed I now want Excel to check in column B the content of column A and to change format accoring to content:
Goal:
A B
EUR 1.00 €
USD 2.00$
USD 3.00$
EUR 4.00€
I want to stress, that a solution using macros isn't possible.
i cannot find my old msg , so i re-read again.
let me repeat my question one more time .
right now i can achieve is :-
when i enter in cell $A$6 " win " and i set the conditional format when this cell text = Win. i highlight "RED color "
i can set the above without much problem.
what i want to a bit more is when $A$6 ="Win" i wanted , the Row A6 till F6 cell all highlighted with red.
I am trying to work out a custom number format to display betting fractions properly - namely 3/2 as 6/4 and 2/3 as 4/6. The following works for 3/2:
[=1.5]"6/4 " ;??/??
However I can't get anything to work for 2/3 as it is a recurring decimal.
is there any way to set the conditional format to the colour of a particular cell if the condition is met?
