View 9 RepliesI have a Sheet ( Named "Summary" for Example ) of about 4,000 Rows that has a LOT of Conditional Formatting.
I Added Another 100 Rows this Morning and when I Tried Saving it a Message Saying that Not All the Formatting for the New Data that had Been Added had Been Saved. Is there a Macro or Something I can Run that will Make the Conditionally Formatted Cells Stay the Colour that they are but Delete the Conditional Formatting Part of it Achieved Using "Format" & "Conditional Format" from the Menu Please.
Ideally I would like to be Able to Enter the Number of Rows ( From Row ? to Row ? ) that I want this to Apply to.
i m trying to format a cell so that it colours in red when a specific text is chosen in another cell, ive tried conditional formatting but I cannot get it to work. e.g column A has a drop down list, if GB or IEN is chosen in that cell then cell in column K will become red. (as if these two are chosen then they have to input a number into column K). Once they have inputted the number into column K i want it to go back to its original format. Or if they dont select GB or IEN then it would stay in its original format aswell.

I was hoping to use CF as the sheet needs to be locked against people editng cells and the like.
My question is, could a conditional format say if "service" colour blue, if "parc" colour green.
If this is possible this would allow me to use 6 different colours.
Below I have an example from A1 to V1 which have 3 conditional formatting
conditional format 1. if value is 0 then colour red and font white
conditional format 2. if value is from 1 to 10 then colour blue and font white
conditional format 3. if values 11 to 25 colour green, font black
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUV11230507801011121314150170192002523
From the table above I want to count the cells which are in 3 different colours.
Result: Red=6 cells
Blue=7 cells
Green=9 cells
I would like to apply different conditional formatting at different times with a click of a button. I setup a dummy and turned on the recorder and recorded this
Range("A7:N7").Select
Selection.FormatConditions.Delete
Selection.FormatConditions.Add Type:=xlExpression, Formula1:="=$C7=1"
Selection.FormatConditions(1).Interior.ColorIndex = 37
Range("A1").Select
End Sub
I tried changing to this
'/Conditional Format - OTHER EXPENSE B/L
Set rngConditional = wsData.UsedRange
With rngConditional...............
Is it possible to use a formula to shade a cell dependent on a condition? I have tried an if formula (see below) but it is incorrect. =if('November 2006 SVOC'!B6>'March 2006 SVOC'!C6,'November 2006 SVOC'!B6 [red],if('November 2006 SVOC'!B6<'March 2006 SVOC'!C6,'November 2006 SVOC'!B6 [blue],))

View 6 Replies View RelatedI need a formula which will, alike conditional formatting, change the colour of a cell based on date or another cell.
For Example, If I was to enter a value of today's date it would be green up to a 3 month period, after 3 months it turns to amber and after 6 months red.
I can do it with conditional formatting on the date function when converted to days (see attached). Is there any way I can make the date updated column automatically match the date difference colour with a formula?

I want to change the colour in a cell depending on the sum of two other cells.
ie
A3=1,B3=1
A4=2,B4=1
A5=1,B5=0
A6=2,B6=4
So i want if
A3+B3>2 THEN C3 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
A4+B4>2 THEN C4 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
A5+B5>2 THEN C5 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
A6+B6>2 THEN C6 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
SO IN THE END ONLY C4 AND C6 WILL HAVE GREEN COLOUR.
Is there any formula to do so with conditional formatting?
I am trying to setup a monthly calendar.
What I want to do is have it so that if you type "apples I want some", the cell changes colour to green, and also the apples doesnt appear in the cell. So when you press enter, all you will see is a green cell that says "I want some"
I was wondering if there was a way in VB within the worksheet to make this happen?
It is possible to add something in a spreadsheet VBA to colour a cell Green and put a box surround on it if the cell = "Closed" from A7:V65535
Basically I have four conditions for status of a task and i can only use 3 formats on conditional formatting so i need some code to format the last remaining status type which is "Closed"
Got this part of code to make it the correct colour
With Selection.Interior
.ColorIndex = 4
.Pattern = xlSolid
I have five columns D3 to H3 all with different amounts/currency value. I'm looking to get a formula or use conditional formatting to scan those five cells and highlight one of them green when Excel has determined which one is the cheapest out of the five.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been assigned a task to create one table by counting how many cells are in red, yellow, blue, white colour.
red: indicate the certificate which will expired within one month
Yellow: indicate certificate which will expired within 2 to 3 month
blue: indicate certificate which expired
white (without any colour): indicate certificate that will expired in the future which more than 3 month
The table shall consist of "non-expired cert" - red and yellow; expired cert and total cert.
way to highlight selected cells if one of the selected cells equals a certain value eg
A B C D E
1 X X X Y X
2 X X X X X
3 X X X Y X
I select cells A1-E3 and if column D = "Y" then colour fill the row from A to E
what i would like to do is change the fill colour of D68 if the word Air appears with in D5:D65?

Is it possible to change the format of cell AI3 based on the format of cell C3 and D3? I have C3 and D3 set to turn red based on what is in cell C2 and D2. I would like the following done:
If AI3=C3 & C3 is red, format AI3 blue
If AI3=D3 & D3 is red, format AI3 blue
Otherwise, leave AI3 unformatted.
Possible???

On one of our computers at work, Excel is acting especially strange. The conditional formatting in Excel on one of our computers is not working. In addition, we cannot fill a cell with any color or change the color of the writing. We can click a color for the letters and type it in, but immediately after another cell is highlighted, the writing goes black again. When we try to highlight multiple cells with the cursor, the cells are black instead of the normal color. This happens to not just spreadsheets that are new, but existing spreadsheets on our shared drive from only this one computer as well. No other computers are affected this way. All other computers show the spreadsheets fine and do not have any functionality issues.
I would like to try and achive a conditional format that will require a lookup function. when the condition is met it places Yes or No into a cell and changes that row colour to red for the NO condition. and after 10 days from now the rowcolour is removed.

So for example Dave is in j2 (j1 is a header) the line from A2 to o2 goes green.
I have tried a few things with interesting results but not get desired result.

Is it possible to check the conditional state for a specific condition for a specific cell.
For example a cell has 1 or more conditions.
A condition will toggle to a condition if true or false etc.
The specifics is i use red (color 255) if a cell has not met a specific condition (of 1 or more conditions)
So if the cell is mandatory to be populated, and is blank, it will be red, if not it will be something else.
But i want to loop all visible cells with conditional formatting, and where the cell has a condition when true will show interior color = to 255 return the cell address.
To msg the user where data entry is still required etc.
I'm having trouble with the two formulas working in conjuction with each other.
Condition 1:
=(MOD(ROW(),2)=0)*(COUNTA(3:3))
Condition 2:
=TODAY()>=A1
"Condition 1" seems to override "Condition 2"? Ever see that?
i am trying to do is match 2 columns data based on a condition ie i have data in column "b" of sheet called "balance" data is variable this column has unique indentifiers i want to look at another column and match the uniques identifiers in another sheet if the cell value in column "D" = "please investigate" otherwise do nothing, the (column f) it will be looking up too is in sheet called "hi- port" so if cell value in column "d" of sheet"balace"= "please investigate" match values that are same from colum "b" of sheet "balance" to that of column (f) sheet called "hi-port"
i would like to colour only entire row of sheet called "hi-port" when the data matches to other sheet ie from columns "f " too " b". colour can be any colour
igonre my ranges they are wrong just used as example
Sub start()
Dim oWs As Worksheet
Dim oRngCheck As Range
Dim oCl As Range
Dim cCola As Range
Dim cColb As Range
Dim rngIRd As Range
Dim rngACs As Range
Dim Match As Boolean
Set rngIRd = Range("a1", Range("a65536").End(xlUp)) 'define the rang
Set rngACs = Range("b1", Range("a65536").End(xlUp)) 'define the rang
Set oWs = Worksheets("balance") 'change to suit
'starts at b2 to llow for header row.......................
I would like it to loop through all the charts on the "Graphs" sheet.
It works well but gives a "Run-time error '1004'" Application-defined or object-defined error afterward that I would like to get rid off.

Dim rngColors As Range
Dim rngCell As Range

I have a lookup that gives and RGB colour code in Cell A1; for example 186, 206, 140.
I'd then like Cells R10:V15 to fill with the RGB colour based on the result in A1.
A column of cells can be 1o different shades of green according to their value (achieved by using conditional formatting.) I want to arrange that at a certain time all the cells of a part of the row of a formatted cell are the same colour.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've used Conditional format before and up to now never had a problem with it. I would like that if a cell ends with a number it turns (eg) yellow. So Hallo1 remains colourless, but in the case of Hallo2 the cell turns yellow. I have tried (in the active cell A20) Right(a20,1)>1 (with the setting hasFormula) and =Right(a20,1)>1, both without the desired result.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a report right now that I would like to identify incorrect phone numbers. So I'm looking to use the LEN function to identify and highlight any phone number that is incomplete (like missing area code). But I also don't want it to highlight if there is an "N/A" in the cell.
So I was using =LEN(A1:A100)<10 since 10 digits would be a complete phone number). But I don't know how to manipulate it to be if the cell is greater than 3, but less than 10.
