Combining Two Macros Results In Error Message
Jun 30, 2009
Note: It should also be noted that, when "splitting" the macros below up into two different macros, they work, but then I have to play 2 macros when I only want to play one.
Just when I thought I was getting this macro stuff, I've come back to reality. I tried to combine these 2 macros together (taking out 1 "sub" and 1 "end sub") and when doing so, I got the error message
"duplicate declaration in current scope"
I thought about removing some "Dim" lines, but realized that the Dims say different things. For example in macro 1, it says "Dim Rng As Range" and in macro 2, it says "Dim Cust As Range".
Don't I need both? Do I put in an "exit sub"?

I got 2 macros that I want to run in one go. So to explain:
Here is the data of Sheet1 before the macro is run:
A
B
C
D
E
[Code]....
Keep in mind, when Macro2 is run it puts the data on Column W then X then Y etc as soon as the Column reaches 20 it moves on to the next one.
So my question is:
Is there anyway to combine both macros to just run it once instead of running it individually?

I have two macros that I need to run as one and I am not sure how to call the second macro from within the first. I'm sure it's easy...If you know how... Thank you in advance.

If ActiveCell = "" Then
Selection.EntireRow.Delete
Counter = Counter - 1

I have a userform that has the same type information on 3 different entities (name, address, phone, etc). The same research is required on each one i.e. you need to look up the zip code for each). Therefore I have a bank of buttons on each page of the multipage form. Each button does the same thing depending on which page you are on. The following is my code to copy some information and open another application depending on which page you are on and which type entity.
My question is how can I combine these into one so my module is not 3' long.

This code calculates a value for column K when you punch in a number in column J (in any rows 17 to 116, separately). The first problem is that when you delete a value out of J, the value stays in K for some rows (where it should only contain a value if J does). I'm guessing it has something to do with the triggering event that I put in bold. Secondly, I need to be able to protect row K at all times from deletion or entering another value. It ONLY should calculate a value based on J. So I need to use the module (below the code) and I want to integrate it into the code or call it in a module. It's not working properly because it prevents ANY and ALL changes, even the ones caused by new values entered in J (which should be allowed). It should only prevent deletion or manually entering a value on the worksheet. So the bottom line is that when you enter a value into J, unless column E says "Annuity" it will calculate using the formula given. If you delete J, K should go away as well. And at no time can you delete or manually change K. And when you switch values in E, it must reloop to check if it says "Annuity" or not, and if not, it must clear J (which clears K).
And lastly, this thing is brutally slow, so maybe there's an easier way to write it. Sorry for all the detail, but I think it's an easy fix for someone who knows programming, but i don't know how to put it together! NML Inventory is the Activesheet.

If I have the following table:
Name ProductSize QuantityPrice per unit
AX35510
AX451015
AX551210
BX601010
AX35510
I now want a resulting table that will combine all rows where name, produc, size and price are identical and have one row with the same data apart from the quantity that will have been added - so for the table above the resulting table will be:
Name ProductSize QuantityPrice per unit
AX351010
AX451015
AX551210
BX601010

I am looking for a more efficient way to write a macro (a sample from the macro is below). This is just the first part of the macro. I need to repeat these same steps (seen for row 5 below) for rows 5 to 50. My script worked until I hit row 35 and then I got the "compile error.." message. There must be a way to use "loop" to write this more efficiently, no?

Everytime I open the excel file I am working on I get a message saying that the file contains macros.
I have deleted all the macros I could find under "Tools" and "Macros" but I still get Module1.sortie, sortie and sortie listed. I can delete Module1.sortie but for the other two, sortie and sortie, I only have the "cancel" and "create" options.

I have several workbooks that use macros from my personal macro library (MyExcelAddIns.xlam).
Some of these, especially new ones, get an error message every time I save them: "Privacy warning: This document contains macros, ActiveX controls, ... These may contain information that cannot be removed by the Document Inspector."
Then after I save it once or twice, the message goes away. Why am I getting this message? Why only sometimes? What can I do to get rid of it entirely?

I have a couple of basic macros that edit formatting in a sheet that I want to send out to various people. The problem is, when I change the file name of the worksheet - the marcos stop working as they refer to the actual original file name.
Could someone please advise if (I am sure it must be somehow) it is possible to emmend the Macros in some way so that they continue to work regardlesss of what the end user decides to name the worksheet.

For some reason my form won't open when the workbook is opened. I get an error message "run time error '424' object required" (which happens when I have Form1.show in the BOTH workbook_open event and the userform_initialize event (oops)). When I removed form1.show from the userform_initialize I don't get an error but I also get no form. I recall having this issue before but I can't recall how to fix it.
Can I call the userform_initialize event from the workbook open event to get around this successfully and properly?

I do hit the SCE (Shift-CTRL-Enter) keys. The formula does work in one workbook, but not the other. The only difference between the two workbooks is this formula has a larger range.
New Formula- doesn't work (ERROR- #DIV/0!)
{=AVERAGE(IF(Sheet1!A3:A1094="MONDAY",Sheet1!E3:E1094))}
Old Formula- works
{=AVERAGE(IF(B6:B451="MONDAY",E6:E451))}

I get spreadsheets sent to me with hours and minutes in decimal format. Frequently a quarter of an hour or three quarters of an hour are posted as 0.15 or 0.45 instead of 0.25 and 0.75. Other odd fractions can also appear.
I want an error message if the value when divisible by 0.25 is not a whole number.

I need an error message to pop up if 3 cells contain the same data
The range of these cells would be G19 to G49
Ideally the error message would say "Rules Broken"
Also if possible could the same message be shown if the value of cell J52 exceeds 50,000000

I wanted to make a pop up alert message appear whenever the formula in a cell gives a particular output.
Before posting this i tried looking for similar posts before, but the ones found do not solve my problem. There it asks me to write the following code in VBA,
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim MyRange As String
MyRange = "A1"
If Me.Range(MyRange).Value = "Have Meeting" Then
MsgBox "Have Meeting"
End If
End Sub
But my doing so, I can not use any formula in the cell A1 or any other cell i give reference as MyRange. I will always have to physically type "Have Meeting" or any other word assigned in the above.

I am writing some code to do a comparison between two cells X2 or AB2 with an X which checks to:
1. make sure one of the two are filled, or
2. both are not filled.
Below is an extract of the spreadsheet I am working on. I need to check to make sure one of the boxes is checked. If both are empty or both filled with an ("X"), I want a message box to tell me to correct the error and stop the macro from continuing. If only one is marked with an ("X"), I want the macro to continue but don't know how.

I have a vba code that I wrote out to search for a file and update data on a spreadsheet with the new file... however I've come to a point where I'm not sure of what code to use. If I search for a file that is not there I get a runtime error and of course it ask me to end or debug. What I would like for it to do instead is search for the file and if it is not there... display a message box stating that the file searched for is not found and automatically closes the workbook after OK is pressed.
Here is the code for those who may need it....
