Combobox Populated By Range Names

Mar 5, 2007

if a combobox in a userform can be populated by the NAMES of defined ranges in a worksheet?

ie. worksheet contains 3 NAMED arrays: W1 = $C$5:$E$6, W2 = $C$8:$E$9, W3 = $C$11:$E$12. Have the combobox in the userform actully list W1, W2, W3 so that when W2 is picked (for example), cell $C$8 will be selected.

Restrict Entry On Userform Unless Combobox Populated

Apr 6, 2014

I am trying to find out whether you can restrict the rest of the userform from being available, unless a certain field is entered.

I have a tax invoice userform, I want to restrict the user from entering any other data unless they have selected a customer.

There are other fields such as Customer Address, Customer Number, Disc% and Terms that populate through vlookup code once the customer is selected, so still need that to work once the customer is selected. I just don't want them to be able to enter any other data on the userform without the customer being selected.

I wasn't sure whether I needed to enter code into every other textbox or combo box that if cboCustomer = "" then pop up an error message, but that would require a lot of code to be entered. I have 30 comboboxes and 53 Textboxes that I want to restrict to not being available unless a customer is selected from combobox.

Setup A List Of Names That Is Populated From A Userform

Nov 25, 2009

I've setup a list of names that is populated from a userform, this works OK. I have then tried to use a combobox (on a separate form) to use these names as its values, I first used the rowsource property but this only returned the first name in the list and after searching for the last few hours and trying different methods it's still not working.

Here's what I have;

To populate the list;

Dim irow As Long
Dim ws As Worksheet
Set ws = Worksheets("Clients")
'find first row in database
irow = ws.Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).Row
With ws
.Range("A" & irow) = txtNewClient.Value

I have also tried the userform_initialize, with no joy either,

Passing Value To Cell As String From Auto-Populated Combobox

Apr 10, 2013

I have been searching for hours trying to find a solution to no avail. What I need to do is make sure that when I press a button on a form, the value in a combo-box should be populated as "text format" not as a number. The reason for this is that when my numbers start with a 0, the leading zero gets dropped and I can't run the rest of my code as the items don't match...

I have tried substituting the "Value" to "text" in : Me.cboItem.value and have tried for hours trying to name dim variables as a String and pass this into the cboItem...with no luck...

VB:

Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim iRow As Long
Dim ws As Worksheet
Set ws = Worksheets("Order")
'find first empty row in database
iRow = ws.cells.Find(What:="*", SearchOrder:=xlRows, _

[Code]...

The below populated the combo box cboItem:

VB:

Private Sub OptionButton1_Click()
With Me.cboItem
.Clear
.List = Application.Transpose(Worksheets("Item List").Range("List1"))
End With
End Sub

Worksheet Names In ComboBox

Jul 17, 2008

What I want to do is have a ComboBox (I think it should be a ComboBox, I want the user to be able to select multiple options at once) and display the names of the worksheets in the ComboBox. I could not find a way to do this directly with rowsource and thought about writing a loop to check the current worksheets with their names and put the values into cells, to this way have the names displayed in the ComboBox via rowsource?

Fill Combobox With Month Names

Aug 15, 2008

I will preface with what I am trying to do. I want to populate a combo box with months. The list will be populated based on a the date range in a dataset, so all 12 months may not bee populated in the combo box. I want the months to be listed in the combo box with their text names displayed(Jan, Feb... Dec) but have their numerical values when selected (1,2... 12). I'm sure there is a way to do this, but for the life of me I can't find how. My initial thought was to assign a value to a specific list index, i.e. assign the value of listindex 6 as "Jun", but I can't figure out the syntax to do that.

This doesn't work, but might give some insight into what I am trying to do

form.combobox.ListIndex(6) = "Jun"

Range Populated By Choice In Validation List

Rep Sup
John Sally

Joseph Sally
George Betty

etc..

I have a Validation Drop Down list where a Supervisor is chosen. There's a specific range that I would like to automatically fill in with the reps assigned to the Sup. This is driving me crazy! I already know how to obtain that list as another Validation Drop Down, but not quite sure how to make those values appear in a range instead of a Validation List.

Fill Array With Userform ComboBox Names

Is it possible to count the number of comboboxes on a userform? Or better yet can I fill an Array with all the combobox names on a userform? I can count the controls on a userform but I'm trying to count just the comboboxes? Instead of all the labels and textboxes and frames.

I would like to loop through them for validation instead of doing it by each one by itself!

Fill ComboBox With Cell Range And Link ComboBox To Cell?

Oct 15, 2006

I have two questions.

1). I have dates listed in excel (01/01/2006 to 12/31/2006) say from range B12:B376.

How do I get these values to a ComboBox.

2). If the above is possible and if I select a value in ComboBox say 08/07/2006, it should get updated in a particular cell say A1

So selection of 08/07/2006 in ComboBox, should reflect 08/07/2006 in cell A1.

Note: This ComboBox is on the UserForm and not on the Excel Sheet.

Combobox Dynamic Name Range

Jul 20, 2007

how to control the contents of one combobox based on the selection made in another combobox. But, for some reason, ComboBoxTime1 (as shown in the code below) will only display the first item in the Dynamic Named Range when the user clicks on the pull-down arrow. The Named Range is consistent in size (4 cells) for each of the selection options in ComboBoxDay1. why only the first of four options are displayed in the second combobox?

Also, when a selection is made in the first combobox, the second combobox immediately displays the first item in the Dynamic Named Range (the one selection option it allows). I would prefer for it to remain blank until the user has selected an item from the pull-down list.

Private Sub ComboBoxDay1_Change()
Dim strRange As String
If ComboBoxDay1.ListIndex > -1 Then
strRange = ComboBoxDay1
strRange = Replace(strRange, " ", "_")
With ComboBoxTime1
.RowSource = vbNullString
.RowSource = strRange
.ListIndex = 0
End With
Else
LblTime1.Caption = "Time 1:"

Using Range Names

May 16, 2007

I have in column B a link to raw data on another sheet within the same workbook that returns the same of a segment (ie "MSEC"). In column A I have SUMIF statements that total up the volume associated with each segment (ie "MSEC") that is shown in the report. Each SUMIF total is named (through Insert/Name) something that includes the segment name (ie "MSEC_TA"). In column V I want to offer a share number which shows the percentage of the total (ie "MSEC_TA) that each item is. So, I want a formula that allows me to say "E6/the text in B6 & "_TA". Since the text in B6 is "MSEC", that would give me the formula of E6/MSEC_TA, which is the named range which holds the total.

After user will choose something I want to have numbers of the items selected from the lists in cells "A1" and "A2", and run a macro after clicking OK. How can I do this?
