Conditional Format Conflict: "less Than Or Equal To"
Sep 11, 2009
I've set up a list table using format hh:mm, ranging from 00:00 to 00:10. And set up conditional format, ie "less than or equal to" =a1, format red, Say a1 is 00:05 and works fine. Highlights all cells equal or less than 00:05. But when I add a second condition, greater than or equal to same cell, it does not work. I'm guessing it's a conflict it does not like. Not sure if there is an actual calculation that would work better within conditional format rather than the built in options ?.
I think I have a problem with a conditional formatting conflict. I have 2650 rows and columns A - H. The rows are alternately shaded using =MOD. In column "A" I will enter serial numbers. I formatted column "A" to showed any repeated serial numbers in red with =COUNTIF($A$3:$A$2650,A3)>1. It works with one problem. Any repeated serial number in a shaded cell appears as black. I assume there is a conflict between the two formulas. I have tried switching them, but nothing I do will make the serial number in the shaded cells appear as red.
I have two conditions setup in Options>View - Zero Values.", "style="background: #FFFFFF;padding: 2px;font-size: 10px;width: 550px;"");' onmouseout='GAL_hidepopup();'>formatting.htm" target="_blank">conditional formatting. The first is setup for alternate row coloring with this formula inside Conditional Formatting:
Formula is = MOD(ROW(),2)
My Second Condition is
Cell Value is between $P$10 and $Q$10. This sets the font bold and a different color. The two cell values are two dates. I want to change the cells font color and bolding as long as the value is within that date range. It works fine, but for cells that are on the row that is colored the second condition doesn't apply for some reason.
This seems way too simple to do yet I can't get it right. It will highlight some that are different and not highlight others that are different. I need to compare column A to O and highlight differences, B to P and highlight difference, and so on.
You take a childs actual age in months and years (ie 9.8 for 9years and 8months). They then, in theory, should be at that age level for reading and spelling.
I have the age in B4, the reading in C4 and the spelling in D4. If i use CF to say i want C4 to be red if it's less than B4, Amber if it's the same and green if it's over, as soon as i okay it, C4 goes amber, because it's equal to B4, which is blank. I can get the colours to work, i just can't figure out what to put to turn the amber off when cell B4 is empty.
I've tried as many combinations as my little amount of excel knowledge can cope with.
I am trying to create conditional formatting to ascertain whether values in one table (Table 1) are different from another identically formatted table above it (Table 2) (so each cell in Table 1 has a corresponding cell in Table 2).
If the value in a cell in Table 1 is different from its corresponding cell in Table 2, the cell should highlight in red.
Every cell's corresponding cell is the same distance away.
I tried to put in a conditional formatting for C5 (C5 being the first cell in Table 2), which works, but this breaks and turns to #REF every time i save and re-open the document.
I have 3 rows with numbers across several columns, each cell holding one number only. For example:
R1: 1101 - 1102 - 1103 - 1104 - etc. R2: 2101 - 2102 - 2103 - 2104 - etc. R3: 3101 - 3102 - 3103 - 3104 - etc.
A little further down I am having a list where the end user will write down the exact same number. Once the same number has been written into the list, I would like the number shown in the top rows (row 1 to 3) to be highlighted in green, basically telling the user that the number has been entered into the list below and is ok now.
I have a Sheet ( Named "Summary" for Example ) of about 4,000 Rows that has a LOT of Conditional Formatting.
I Added Another 100 Rows this Morning and when I Tried Saving it a Message Saying that Not All the Formatting for the New Data that had Been Added had Been Saved. Is there a Macro or Something I can Run that will Make the Conditionally Formatted Cells Stay the Colour that they are but Delete the Conditional Formatting Part of it Achieved Using "Format" & "Conditional Format" from the Menu Please.
Ideally I would like to be Able to Enter the Number of Rows ( From Row ? to Row ? ) that I want this to Apply to.
I have five fields that have a conditional format applied to them: (see attached). Columns J, K, L, N and O. These conditionals highlight if a minimum number is entered. Ex. Minimum pushups for a 30 y/o male is 27, if a 26 is entered it highlights red. The total score (where I need this to perform) is calculated in column Q. It will format red if the total score is below 75 but what I can't figure out is how to make it format if any of the previous minimums have not been met.
Ex. In cell L4, his crunches were 25 (a automatic failure -- red formatting). Now the total score is above 75 so it calculates as passing (green), but I need it to highlight red regardless because of the minimum not met in cell L4.
I have a range which has conditional formats based on other cells. I want to copy this range into another sheet and retain the current formats as fixed formats without copying the conditional formulae. ideally in VBA.
Is it possible to change the format of cell AI3 based on the format of cell C3 and D3? I have C3 and D3 set to turn red based on what is in cell C2 and D2. I would like the following done:
If AI3=C3 & C3 is red, format AI3 blue If AI3=D3 & D3 is red, format AI3 blue Otherwise, leave AI3 unformatted.
I have the below two codes in my worksheet, the first one is run using a button and the second one is an automatic macro to enter fixed dates. There seems to be a conflict, as each time I use the button to add a row, I get an error, and when I go to debug it highlights this row in the second macro --> If Target.Value = "" Then. Is there a solution? I can't see why there is an error, as both are separate codes?
I have a workbook that multiple users access (read only) to do quick estimates. This workbook has a "Print & Record" button/macro that does just that... it prints two copies of the estimate, then records/copies the basic data to another workbook (Retail Estimates Data.xls). The macro opens, pastes to, and closes this file in a fairly quick time frame, but it is conceivable that two (or more) users could be trying to do this at the same time.
What I need is some code to check if the Data file is open by another (read only status?), and if so give a message to that effect, and ask to try again, by which time the other user instance should have finished with the file.
I have a simple form built, but the data validation is only partially working. I've attached a sample workbook.
basically, when a user tries to put in a letter in the GP interaction field rather than a number, it prompts user to re-enter. This part is working, except when the submit button has been clicked, the field clears. the field clears, it prompts the user to re-enter.
With the kind help of this forum, I put together a nice business tool that has a fair amount of automation via macro buttons, etc. It works great in XL 2007 but some users are having issues in 2003. I appreciate this is quite general but are there significant conflicts / differences with coding in these two different versions?
I recently launched a model that uses filtering on protected worksheets. The model was developed in Excel 2000, and everything works perfectly for the users who are also on 2000, but my Excel 2003 users get an error on opening the workbook.
The error asks for the password to unlock the sheet and is difficult to clear. Users have to hit Cancel 8 times to clear the error, at which point, the model appears to function perfectly. (There are 12 worksheets in the model, 2 with filters, all locked and password protected.)
The follwoing code is in the 'ThisWorkbook' module:
Private Sub Workbook_Open() With Worksheets("Initiatives") .Protect DrawingObjects:=True, contents:=True, userInterfaceOnly:=True .EnableAutoFilter = True .Protect contents:=True, userInterfaceOnly:=True End With
Because the error occurs when first opening the model but not at other times, I'm thinking that there's something in the Workbook_Open procedure that is causing the error.
I need to run a loop through a column of values (attachment col B) and when it finds a "J" it will apply conditional formatting to a row of 4 cells directly adjacent. The attachment is a theoretical before & after.
I have data in cell A1 that often changes its number format(from $ to %), can i have the number format change in cell B1 whenever the number format in cell A1 changes?
I'm having trouble with a small vba macro. At the end of the macro I test to see if two variables are equal and then print out true or false. However, for some reason even though the variables are equal vba is not treating them that way. I have put the values that represent the variables on a spreadsheet and used the if(x1=x2) formula and it says it is true, also, when I debug the macro and watch the values when it comes to test the logical expression the numbers are the same. I don't understand why vba does not say that the two variables are equal. I have attached a screenshot of the breakpoint where I double check the values are equal.
I have a tab called SAP DUMP where we copy our raw data to, from here we manually copy and paste into another sheet called ORDER TRACKING SHEET. When we do a fresh dump (overwrite) of raw data into the SAP DUMP tap we need to see if the there is a new entry which needs to be copied across to the ORDER TRACKING SHEET. I've got a vlookup to show this. The one I can't work out is that on the ORDER TRACKING SHEET I also need to see if there are any entries are now no longer on the SAP DUMP tab. This is where I thought a condition format might work, color the line red if it's no longer on the SAP DUMP tap. Can't make it work.....
I have a workbook with 12 worksheets corresponding to months. Each is formatted in A1 with the month (Date, Jan-01) and all rows below, starting at A5, are the days of the month (Custom, ddd d). All cells are linked so they change accordingly with A1.
I'm trying to apply conditional formatting so that all Fridays will have light grey shading across the row. I can get it to shade every 7th row using the MOD & ROW functions, but the shaded row changes with subsequent months and years (not necessarily Fridays). Can I get it to recognize every Friday through the year.
Disregard the First Table. I cant remove it. refer to the Second Table
This table is a Task Tracker. The Start Button Adds the Current Date in Enercon's Row C1 and the row below (C2) will automaticaly filled with color using Conditional Formating. My Question is how can I code a conditional format for Trail1 Rows. For example when Trail1 Cell is active then you click the start Button instead of Coloring D2 Cell it should Color D3 Cell.
Here is the Code in Start Button
Sub cmdStart_Click() Dim i As Integer Results = MsgBox("Are you working on " & ActiveCell.Value & " today ?", vbOKCancel, "") If Results = vbOK Then
With Sheets("Sheet1") i = .Cells(2, Columns.Count).End(xlToLeft).Column + 1 .Cells(2, i).Value = Now() i = i + 1
End With Else Range("A1").Select End If End Sub Regards, Kevin
Maybe I'm getting a blank, maybe the answer is so easy, but lately I can´t solve this: How do I use conditional format to change cell color if cell value (date) is not workday?
