Conditional Format Range Based On Date
Sep 8, 2009I have a monthly calender, with each month on its own sheet. I have a sheet named Holidays, which list the holidays. I have been able to use conditional format and highlight the dates in the months the holidays fall on, but I would like to highlight a range of cells below the date on monthly sheet. I have attached a sample of what I have and would like to achieve. I am not much good at using VBA, but would not be against using it either.

Jan 18, 2013I have two cells. both formatted to contain dates.
cell a1 will have a date in it. cell a2 will have a date calculated to be cell a1 + 42 days.
now, when cell a2 reaches a date that is greater than cell a1 + 42 i want cell a2 to be formatted as fill red.
so, i have tried a conditional format as =a1+42 >=TODAY() but it always highlights as red even if the value in cell a2 is less than cell a1+42.

Apr 30, 2009Hello, we have a stop light spreadsheet for status with several different projects. In each row there are conditional format status green - good, yellow - needs work, red - bad...based on data from another tab.
There is an "overall status" column that pulls the worst color that exists for a given row.
=IF(COUNTIF(F1:V1,"r")>0,"R",IF(COUNTIF(F1:V1,"y")>0,"Y",IF(COUNTIF(F1:V1,"g")>0,"G","")))
There is also a date for each row. Now we want to pull the worst color in the "overall status" column for a date range...and display that on a separate summary tab.
For 4/1/09 thru 4/15/09 - pull the worst color from the "overall status" column from that date range.

Save Conditional Format Colour But Delete Condition Format
Dec 19, 2006I have a Sheet ( Named "Summary" for Example ) of about 4,000 Rows that has a LOT of Conditional Formatting.
I Added Another 100 Rows this Morning and when I Tried Saving it a Message Saying that Not All the Formatting for the New Data that had Been Added had Been Saved. Is there a Macro or Something I can Run that will Make the Conditionally Formatted Cells Stay the Colour that they are but Delete the Conditional Formatting Part of it Achieved Using "Format" & "Conditional Format" from the Menu Please.
Ideally I would like to be Able to Enter the Number of Rows ( From Row ? to Row ? ) that I want this to Apply to.
Conditional Format Based On A Conditional Format
Feb 9, 2010I have five fields that have a conditional format applied to them: (see attached).
Columns J, K, L, N and O. These conditionals highlight if a minimum number is entered. Ex. Minimum pushups for a 30 y/o male is 27, if a 26 is entered it highlights red. The total score (where I need this to perform) is calculated in column Q. It will format red if the total score is below 75 but what I can't figure out is how to make it format if any of the previous minimums have not been met.
Ex. In cell L4, his crunches were 25 (a automatic failure -- red formatting). Now the total score is above 75 so it calculates as passing (green), but I need it to highlight red regardless because of the minimum not met in cell L4.

Mar 20, 2013Is it possible to change the format of cell AI3 based on the format of cell C3 and D3? I have C3 and D3 set to turn red based on what is in cell C2 and D2. I would like the following done:
If AI3=C3 & C3 is red, format AI3 blue
If AI3=D3 & D3 is red, format AI3 blue
Otherwise, leave AI3 unformatted.
Possible???
Excel 2007 :: Date Filtering - Change Date Format Supplied By Date Picker
Apr 24, 2012I have a table of data (total 142 rows). Column contains dates, in the format dd-mmm-yyyy.
I tried to filter using DATE FILTERS->EQUALS and in the custom filter window, I chose EQUALS then picked a date from the date picker icon. The date I picked was 5/4/2009 (this is May 4, 2009, formatted automaticall by excel as m/d/yyyy).
When I clicked OK, nothing showed up despite the fact that there are 6 occurences of May 4, 2009 (formatted as dd-mmm-yyyy in the data table)
So my questions are:
1. Is this due to the formatting?
2. Is there a way to change the date format supplied by the date picker?

Converting Times Stored In Date Format To Number Format?
Mar 31, 2014One of the reports I run provides me information on lengths of time. Such a field displays as |0:09:16| indicating 9 minutes and 16 seconds. However, when the report generates the excel spreadsheet it saves these cells in date/time format ([h]:mm:ss). If I were to convert this field to the number format (so I can manipulate and graph it) it displays as such |0.00643460648148148| Ideally I would be able to have the data in the field stored as |556| (556 seconds, or 9 minutes 16 seconds). I have thousands of fields that I need to manipulate where the data is stored in this format and I can not figure out how to fix it.

Aug 1, 2013I have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet where the default number format keeps switching to the date format. I keep switching it back and it'll stay as a number format for a time, but then it'll switch back. This is also the case for any new worksheets in that one spreadsheet.
This only happens with this one file - everything else behaves according to my regional settings or to how the file had been previously formatted.

Oct 17, 2012I have two columns where there are dates (e.g. 11/05/2009) in a date format; I would like to change the format to `general`; but without losing the original values, i.e. I still want to see 11/05/2009, but just in `general`format. As you can see the CONCATENATE puts the "39569" date in A2 But the second line puts the text date as I prefer. What I would like to do is put in a formula or macro in D2 and down that will change the "Mar-08" to "3-08" so it CONCATENATEs correctly to column A. Simply: I'm trying to avoid manually inputing the text version "3-08" (or whatever M-Y) into D2 down a hundred or so rows!

Feb 21, 2014I have a column in excel which gets populated in the format "2/1/1980" when copied from a different source. I want a macro to run on this column and convert this in the below format. Required format: '02-01-80 (note the ' symbol before 02 which will keep it as text)
Existing ----> Required
2/1/1980 --> '02-01-80
2/1/1970 --> '02-01-70
2/1/1983 --> '02-01-83
I need this macro to run on two columns and replace them with the required format. I can do a find and replace either in the sheet or through hard coding the VBA, but as the date format keeps growing, I would need to do this via code and hence requesting the same.

Aug 1, 2008I have been struggling with my Excel 07 Date format. Nearly every time I perform a calculation, enter in a value etc in a spreadsheet my answer is returned as a date. So for example if I enter in a cell: = 5 - 4. I get the answer "1-Jan-1900" instead of 1. I have to manually set the formats to general or number if I want the correct format. The setting seems to be the default one and occurs for all workbooks I open. What can I do to change this.

I have a tab called SAP DUMP where we copy our raw data to, from here we manually copy and paste into another sheet called ORDER TRACKING SHEET. When we do a fresh dump (overwrite) of raw data into the SAP DUMP tap we need to see if the there is a new entry which needs to be copied across to the ORDER TRACKING SHEET. I've got a vlookup to show this. The one I can't work out is that on the ORDER TRACKING SHEET I also need to see if there are any entries are now no longer on the SAP DUMP tab. This is where I thought a condition format might work, color the line red if it's no longer on the SAP DUMP tap. Can't make it work.....
