Conditional Format (highlight Each April)
Sep 17, 2009
I'm trying to do something rather easy (I think). I would like to conditional format a column of historical dates. In this column I would like to highlight the first month of each fiscal year (April).
I'm unsure how to type this in logically into the conditional format formula? (Excel 2007).
I tried "=Month()=4" which does not work. Sometimes I wish we could just use simple algebra to do excel functions! A=Month(x) when A = 4, format cell!
Any ideas?

I want to know if there is any way to highlight a cell that does not contain a whole number. In my spreadsheet I have a formula that calculates the number of packages in an order, but if the result is not a whole number then I want it to be highlighted.

do a conditional format rule that will highlight every other row of my excel spreadsheet when the value in a specific Column (say Column A) differs than the previous.
I've attached a sample worksheet with what I want it to look like after the conditional format rule is applied (every other row highlighted in light blue). The rule needs to apply to all rows in the worksheet beginning with ROW 2 (I don't need the rule to apply to the column header which is in ROW 1).

Two things in Conditional Format, any formula to highlight cells if they are duplicated, but the next set of duplicates in another color? i.e.
If that isn't possible just the formula to highlight A To C would be great
So Cells A1 to C1 (red) and cells F! to I1 (Blue)
A1 500
B1 500
C1 500
D1 500
E1 650
F1 750
G1 750
H1 750
I1 750

I need conditional format in column Q which highlight in red, any date over 14 days old.
This column also contains texts (non-dates) and these need to be left alone.
I've experimented with a few bits of formula I've found online, but nothing has worked . .
I'm on Excel 2010.

Col A - budget items (description)
Col B - budget dollars
Col C - actual dollars
Row 10 - summation Cols B and C
When the budget is prepared the actual dollars in Col C are equal to the budget dollars for all items. For instance the formula =b2 is placed in cell C2. As time passes the user records actual dollars in Col C for each item by entering the actual amount directly into the cell. Actual dollars do not become known all at the same time, so that Col C will contain a mixture of formulas and entered numbers.
How can I highlight the cells in Col C that have entered numbers rather than formulas.

I have two Sheets, first is Service Data, the second is Log Sheet. In the Service Data sheet I have a column of serial numbers in column A. I also have a column of serial numbers in the Log Sheet, column A.
I'm looking for a conditional format whereas I enter numbers into column A on the Log sheet it will auto highlight the cell if I duplicate a serial number from row A in the Service Data sheet. I would like it to highlight the Duplicated number on the Log sheet. I know new versions of excel make it easier to do this but unfortunately I have Excel 2003.

I have a Sheet ( Named "Summary" for Example ) of about 4,000 Rows that has a LOT of Conditional Formatting.
I Added Another 100 Rows this Morning and when I Tried Saving it a Message Saying that Not All the Formatting for the New Data that had Been Added had Been Saved. Is there a Macro or Something I can Run that will Make the Conditionally Formatted Cells Stay the Colour that they are but Delete the Conditional Formatting Part of it Achieved Using "Format" & "Conditional Format" from the Menu Please.
Ideally I would like to be Able to Enter the Number of Rows ( From Row ? to Row ? ) that I want this to Apply to.

I have five fields that have a conditional format applied to them: (see attached).
Columns J, K, L, N and O. These conditionals highlight if a minimum number is entered. Ex. Minimum pushups for a 30 y/o male is 27, if a 26 is entered it highlights red. The total score (where I need this to perform) is calculated in column Q. It will format red if the total score is below 75 but what I can't figure out is how to make it format if any of the previous minimums have not been met.
Ex. In cell L4, his crunches were 25 (a automatic failure -- red formatting). Now the total score is above 75 so it calculates as passing (green), but I need it to highlight red regardless because of the minimum not met in cell L4.

I am working on a spreadsheet in Excel 2007 and i am trying to use a formula in the conditional formatting that will highlight a cell if the date is prior to today's date and the next column over is no. the formula i am using right now is =IF(F2>TODAY(),IF(G2="NO",TRUE,)). the problem i am having is that it is highlighting all cells that have a date and the next column over is no.
i can't figure out how to get it to do an if this, then that function correctly. one other thing that could potentially be causing my problem is that the cells.
I am trying to have highlight are calculated themselves based on a formula. see the attached spreadsheet for information.

I have a spreadrsheet (sample attached) which populates a calender due to columns on seperate sheets being filled with text and corresponding dates. I started using conditional formatting to highlight certain conditions but soon realised I need more than 3 so I tried looking into VBA - and failed.
All the cells in the calender have the 3 usual conditions associated to them but in addition I need to be able to colour individual cells if they contain certain phrases or parts of phrases like "BP" or "Current"

So I need to fill the cell with 4 different colours.
If cell equals 1 = Green
If cell equals 2 = Yellow
If cell equals 3 = Red
If cell equals 4 = Blue
What I do is highlight cell from A1:A18, clik on 'Format', 'Conditional Formatting', I've tried using 'Cells Value is' and 'Formula is'.

i am trying to highlight the cells red in the b column if a3=d3 (if names match) and if b3<e3 (only if name is "a" should e3 be used to compare with b3). hope this makes sense. i've attached a sample worksheet.
i've tried =if(b3<e3, (vlookup(a3,d3:e33,1,false),true)...but does not work correctly. i need the average weight to remain constant according to the name when comparing, but if i drag the formula down to other cells, the average weight does not correspond to the name.
