Copy Template Worksheet To Multiple Worksheets And Incrementally Number Sheets In Workbook
Mar 25, 2014
I have what is probably a simple request to all the VBA experts out there, and simply want to take a template sheet in a workbook and copy it across to 100 sheets numbered/named 101 -200, and add the name of each sheet as a text reference, e.g. sheet name 101 will have a cell within the worksheet that refers to sheet 101.
I have attached a simplified spreadsheet which indicates what i'm trying to achieve.
I am looking for a code that would copy the data from each worksheet in a given workbook and then paste to just one worksheet within a different workbook. The Sheet names are auto generated when I run this canned report but the naming structure is always the same...the first worksheet is named Repair Details and then the next sheet is named Repair Details_1, the next sheet is named Repair Details_2 and so on for every sheet in workbook. So I would like to copy all of the data(Headers to last cell) and then paste in a worksheet(ex: Master Repair Report.xlsx and the worksheet could be titled Master Repair Details) on a different workbook, then the next sheet would copy from the one under the header to the last record and paste to the same workbook. This process would repeat for every worksheet in the Repair Details Workbook and paste to Master Repair Details worksheet in the Master Repair Report workbook.
I have created a template with a Worksheet called "Certificate".
There is a userform that is opened on Auto_Open of this template and allows a file name and some other parameters to be input.
On pressing the OK button on this form, I want to do the following.
1. Create a new XLS workbook with the file name entered on the form (this includes the full Windows folder address).
2. Copy the Certificate workbook from the template across to this new file.
3. Close the original template (maybe closing needs to be done at the end??) and make the "Certifcate" worksheet in the new workbook the active worksheet.
4. Using the parameters entered on the userform, change the details in "Certificate" (this code is already written but not set up for the new workbook - currently it updates the template "Certificate" worksheet)
I am new to the VBA editing and I am missing some steps to get my files correctly generated and then ideally saved in PDF format in the same folder.
I have two files; one is an invoice template with the following fields:
Invoice Reference: Line 8 column D Issue date: Line 9 column D Client name: Line 11 column E&F Client address: Line 12 column E&F Product name: Line 16 column E&F Product details: Line 18 column E&F Production date: Line 20 column E&F Delivery date: Line 22 column E&F Units: Line 24 column E&F Total Units: Line 26 column E&F Total Invoiced: Line 30 column F
Each sheet in the "template" workbook should be named after the Invoice Reference.
Secondly I have the source file in which the data is organized as follows: (Both are in the same folder)
Invoice Reference: column A Issue date: column B Client name: column C Client address: column D Product name: F Product details: column G Production date: column H Delivery date: column I Units: column J Total Units: column J Total Invoiced: column E
One invoice needs to be created per line in the source workbook. I tried many times the macro recording without getting the correct outputs.
I found some useful code for copying specific worksheets into a new workbook based on the sheet name, which I have not been able to alter to suit my needs.
I have a workbook that has a Master Sheet that contains a summary of each claim (Name, type of claim, dates, dollar amounts, etc.) and a sheet for each specific claim.
I know I can use the filter feature on the master sheet to view all of the physical damage claims (and one column has a hyperlink to the worksheet for that specific claim). But every month I have to create a report that shows each type of claim, dates, and so on.
I would like to create a macro that can copy the worksheets to a new workbook based on the type of claim it is. I'm thinking something like for each ws in wb if range ("F15") = 1 & .range ("B4") < 30 days from today copy that sheet into a new wb.
Below is a generic and far smaller version of my workbook. The name column contains my hyperlinks to the specific sheet. Each sheet is also named based on the text in the name column (so John Doe's sheet would be named 'John Doe') and so forth.
I have a function that counts my worksheets and I reference that to a cell so another macro that creates a new worksheet will be named +1 numerically. My problem is I need it to anchor on "MISLC" and count to the end of the workbook. Or start on the last sheet and count back to "MISLC"
VB: Function Sheets() Sheets = Worksheets("MISLC").Index - 1 End Function
I have a userform which loads the data into a worksheet named "Data" which is being used as a database for an event scheduler. I also load a calendar from a worksheet named "Month" so I need the information from the userform "UForm01" added to 2 worksheets.
The userform adds a series of textboxes to worksheet "Data" in the first open row. I also need certain textboxes from the Userform to be added to another worksheet to populate the calendar.
I have Folder with almost 21 or 22 Excel files depending on the working days in a month,
All I am trying to do is to run a Macro so that Column C and D from Sheet Name "Resource Count" from all Workbooks of Different Names from all the files from that folder to be copied and pasted to a new Workbook one after the other in new workbook.
To clarify, Each workbook in that folder will have a sheet named "Resource Count" and I want to copy Column C and Column D from all the workbooks from the folder and paste one after other in a new work book.
I need a code that will copy any cells with data in range I3:I41 from sheet2 and paste it in sheet1 starting at cell B3. Then copy any cells with data in range I3:I41 from sheet3 and paste it in sheet1 starting at the next empty cell.
I have managed to pull together code that does the required task - save two sheets from a work book in to a new workbook on to a dorectory each day. However I woul;d liek to paste special the values and cannot figure our how to reference that on the below:
'saves text file in day on day folder Dim WS As Worksheet, CheminDest As String, fNAME As String 'create directories as needed On Error Resume Next CheminDest = "T:DMRatesReportsChecks" & Year(Date) & ""
I worked on a workbook which has multiple worksheets( mine has 6). The data doesn't start from A1. I want to copy the data from each worksheet into a sheet called summary. I want to create the macro that would only copy the heading row once.
i need a macro which copy and paste from multiple worksheets (except for 3 worksheets which is named after Jan, Feb and Mar) into one worksheets (named as OVERALL). The data to copy will cover from cell A1:D1 and below where there is data available.
I have one master worksheet named "Season" and 30 other worksheets named "1,2,3,4 and so on to 30". I ideally want to copy the shapes (msoShapeOval) from the worksheets- "1-30" to worksheet- "Season". When the shapes (msoShapeOval) are copied from worksheets "1-30"
I want them to keep thier position that they were in when copied to worksheet- "Season".
The shapes (msoShapeOval) are in range "A1:AZ43" in worksheets "1-30" and would be placed in worksheet "Season" range "A1:AZ43"
I am searching for a formula or simple macro to select text data from column named "SM NAME" to corresponding worksheet. I need this to populate as many worksheets as there are SM Names. ( there are usually 10 SMs)
For Example in the Master Data there are Several SM names listed. I need to extract the "ID" and "Agent" columns in the Master and populate into the workshhet with the Approriate name tab. The Master list changes regularly.
I have several exel workbooks (.xls files) and each workbook contains multiple worksheets. The number of worksheets and their names are variable. Each worksheet is formated in the same way. Now I want to copy an specific cell range on each worksheet and copy it into a single worksheet.
For example let assume that we have a a workbook called temperature.xls. This file contains 4 worksheets named: 40-1, 40-3, 40-5#, and 40-22. I want to copy a specific cell range (F46:O47) from all the worksheets in the workbook temperature.xls and paste only the values on a summary worksheet. This summary worksheet can be in the same workbook or in different one. I just wanted to add that I want to repeat this process 15 more times to summarize all my data containing workbooks. On average each workbook contains 35 worksheets so it is a tedious manual process.
I had created a base data with evaluator and performance appraisals templates which should be sent to each evaluator for filling up the forms based on templates
Macro that would i require will be
Where in my base data if i select filter of "Arun", i will performance appraisal templates in column I. Next, i have sheets individually created templates which refer column I
So, based on arun filter if i select, it should create a new workbook for arun and six individual sheets of employees reporting to him with a base data and appraisal templates similarly if i select anita in filter , it should create a new workbook for anita and six individual sheets of employees reporting to her with a base data and appraisal templates
I need, I do not know Visual Basic, so I need something in simple Excel format that I can use before I am able to take the training (upon reading more threads, looks like VBA is just the editor used to create a macro where I can copy and paste in code text from your suggestions? I think I can handle that).
I need to condense multiple tables into one master table, and then perform calculations on those entries. Each table contains three columns, but after being manually pasted -- as I am doing currently -- into the condensed worksheet, there'll be two or three additional columns based on calculations from the entries. The Workbook does currently contain 2 worksheets that do not contain data in this format, so please share code that could exclude those? I am fine with every so often manually applying a formula on the last worksheet that says something like,
look in SH1 A2:C300. If entire row is not blank copy over contents, if blank move on to SH2, etc etc. Since I'm a newbie I imagine there are much more efficient ways to do this. I may be a little shaky on the VBA but surely I can copy and paste.
i have created a diary using multiple tabs. I would now like to create a template that i can paste into the multiple tabs. I have tried to copy and paste but the format ends up all wrong, I would also like to paste all the tabs in one go Regards Johnt Auto Merged Post;I dont have to paste anything all i have to do is select all sheets on the first page and then design my template on that page which will show on all pages
I am looking for either formula which will allow me to copy data from a workbook with multiple named sheets into a workbook with a single named sheet. For instance workbook 1 has sheets named bob, sue, and tom and there is a workbook 2 which only has sheet bob. I want to copy the range fo data from sheet bob in workbook1 to workbook 2 as long as workbook 2 has sheet bob.
I have a file with a roughly 20 workbooks. I need to split the data in each workbook into two sheets, rename each sheet, then export the data to template with multiple sheets. After splitting the data into the appropriate sheets in the original workbook, Sheet1 in has only 1 row (plus header) and needs to be transferred to "Project Entry" in the template; Sheet2 can have any number of rows (less than 100) and needs to be transferred to "Activity Entry" in the template. I need to save the template based on the value of cell A1 on "Project Entry" sheet of the template. The organization of the columns in the original workbooks is different than that of the template, so this is not a straight copy and paste operation. The cell formatting in the template must be retained.
I have half of this under wraps. I've cobbled together some code that splits the original data where I need it split, copies it to new sheets and saves the files. I now need to figure out out to get it out of this saved file and into the template.
The crosswalk of values between the original data (Sheet1) and the template(Project Entry) needs to look like the below. So, variable 1 exists in column B of the original and needs to populate column B of the template, and column Q in the original needs to populate column G in the template. The variables and column relationships are different for Sheet2/Activity Entry.
Here is what i want to do. # I have a workbook say 'Template', which has two columns: ColA -> Names , ColB -> Value, his acts as a template, i.e a budget. # Another workbook 'sample' which has similar ColA(may contain additional rows) and corresponding value in ColB.
Here is what i need::
I need to copy the contents of ColA and ColB of 'sample' wholse ColB valules are greater than ColB values of 'Template' for corresponding ColA values in both, into a new workbook. SO basically, template acts as a budget check for the sample workbook, and if any value in ColB goes above the budget in template, it will show up in the new workbook. I have attached both the workbooks. Basically the red highlighted cells in Sample are the ones i want in a new workbook.
I'd like to have a macro that would take a worksheet in this workbook named "Template" and make a copy for each cell between B5:B98 and name that new worksheet "c" and then the value in each of those (B5:B98) cells.
Example: First worksheet named "Main" Second worksheet named "c01" Third worksheet named "c01.1" and so on.....
I have a macro that takes info/data from multiple sheets in the Basin workbook and summarizes it into the Median Database workbook. I need to copy the values in range B5:EM5 in every sheet (each sheet name is site #) in the Basin workbook and paste that range into the median database workbook row with the corresponding site.
Here is what I have so far
VB: Sub Median_Database() 'This Macro takes the median from each station tab in the current Basin workbook 'And inserts it into the Median Database workbook
how to grab the sheet name and insert it in the median database. The problem is the copy/paste of the range in each sheet. The macro locks up every time.
I have a workbook with many sheets labelled as mmm-yyyy. The constant columns in all the sheets are C,E,R,T, and U.
Is it possible to have a macro do the following: Add a sheet called Summary at the end of the workbook. From the last sheet of mmm-yyyy, copy columns C, E, and R to the Summary sheet. Copy columns T and U from all the other mmm-yyyy sheets to the Summary sheet. All the cells need to be centered.
