VBA code below. My aim is to be able to copy a range from one workbook to another and I get the Run Time Error 438 on the line colored red.
Can this code be corrected or is there an easier way to get this done?

I am getting a runtime error 32809, Application-defined or Object-defined error when I try to open my workbook. I remember someone posting code to set the VBA References when the Workbook is opened and I think this is what I need, because the file will run on Excel 2000 and not on Excel 2003. I know the References are different, but I don't know how to change them.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to introduce some VBA code to an existing workbook that will automatically sort column A alphabetically on Sheet 2 (Summary) (excluding rows 1 & 2 as they contain headings) whenever the workbook is opened.
At the moment this code doesn't automatically run and when I run it manually I get a run-time error '91' the first time I try and when I run it for a second time (again manually) it works.

the problem is when is share the workbook, it generated the runtime error '1004' Command is not available in a shared workbook... make it work even in a shared workbook.

I have the following code which performs a different action depending on whether K1 says "true" or "false". K1 contains a formula which identifies whether or not E1 is already present on a list on another page. If K1 says "false," the code is supposed just reenter the formula that was previously in E1 (because I don't know how to tell it to do nothing). If K1 says "true," I want a popup box where answering yes reenters the previous formula and answering no pulls up an input box to enter other data. This code worked fine until I closed the workbook. When I tried to open it again, I got a runtime error 9: subscript out of range message and nothing happens when I change the value in A1 (upon which the formula in E1 is based).

I'm using Excel 2013 and I'm getting an issue in vba I can't figure out. (This is something I've done several dozen time before) But everytime I try to copy a sheet in a workbook,

I recently copied in this sheet from another workbook, and deleted all of it's formula names, but I can't copy any other sheets now either.
The Run time Error 1004: Copy method of Worksheet Class failed pops up. What is weird is that I put in a msgbox and
MsgBox (WB.Sheets.Count)
returns a "1" though the sheet has about a dozen sheets within it. I've saved the workbook and even saved it as another name.
The sheet I imported has a sheet number of 77 while the previous last sheet was 23, could this be a cause?
1.) I have excel 2007 and when I recorded the macro yesterday it worked just fine, but today it's coming up with the box to update values. The macro is set to open up the vendor assignment sheet and do a vlookup against the clerk and then return the information to the original sheet and then copy paste special values. 2.) I am using this code (below) to hide certain rows or columns depending on what number is entered. Everything is working fine and I am at the point where I would like to share this excel sheet with others but I would like to lock certain cells so that others cannot alter the formulas. As soon as I lock the cells and then enter values into the unlocked cells, I get the "run-time error '1004': Unable to set the Hidden property of the Range class".

The macro I'm writing (Excel 2010) is a loop that inserts a column based on a variable location, enters in a formula in the first cell, enters another formula in cell 2, then should fill that second formula to the last row, then keep going until the loop ends. There is always a chance that there will be blank cells to the left and right so I didn't use xldown. I've tried writing in multiple ways, but I keep getting the error.

(it might not be good programming, but I think it should work).
A little explanation to the code.
I have a spreadsheet located on the intranet that has values I need in my spreadsheet. These figures are sorted by date, so I search for the date to find the right figures.
The line Range("A1").Value = "=" + Path + Sheet + "B" + CStr(Y)
works prefectly. I can see the value in my spreadsheet in the cell A1. its the next line that causes the error "Type mismatch".
The value I get from the intranet spreadsheet looks similar to this:
"1 Jul 2006 " (note all the spaces).
What I do is just run it through a loop and cut of all spaces so it will look like this: "1Jul2006" to be sure I dont miss a space or anything.
Now to the funny part.
The error only happens at runtime on the first go.
If I chose to END the macro then and there, and then run it again from the top it works perfectly.
If I set a stopsign to debug the code, it works perfectly on the first go too.
Can anyone explain to me why that happens??
I know enough about programming to handle my syntax errors and so on, but I cant see anything wrong in this one...

I have a workbook with 10 worksheets. Each is it's own report template. I want to open the template workbook and copy just one worksheet to a new workbook.
