Count Number Of Times Specific Intervals Occur Between Relevant Values
May 5, 2008
I will say exactly what i want.
I want to keep statistics of roulette.
More specifically, i want to count how many times a dozen lates to come.
The range from 1-12 is 1st dozen, from 13-24 is the 2nd and 25-36 is the 3rd.
I want to count among these numbers, how many times one of three dozens appear every 1 time, how many times appears every 2 times, .... until 20 times.
For example: I have put in a column 500 numbers from 0 to 36.
The output must be like this:
1st Dozen: Every 1 time: x
Every 2 times: n
Every 20 times: m
The same for 2nd and 3rd dozen.

I am sure that most of you will probable know what i am doing wrong here straight away so rather than me waste another 1/2 hr stuffing around. I am trying to find count the number of times two events occur simultaneously.
=SUMPRODUCT(--('5. Financial'!AX4:AX134=A5)*('5. Financial'!BQ4:BQ134>0<0.1))
The first part is fine I think but in the second part I am trying times only when cell is between zero & 10%.

My difficulty is this. I have 2 columns, A and B. A contains only 0's and 1's. B contains any number from 1 to 100. I want to count all the instances of any given number in Col B that are matched with a 1 in the corresponding cell in Col A.

I require a Formula to calculate the INTERVALS (the number of Rows between
the LAST instance and the PREVIOUS instance in a column) between each
individual occurrence of any designated PAIR of Numeric values (single-digit
/ double-digit) in the same Row of the Named Range "Results" and return each
calculated INTERVAL result to a separate Column on the same Row of a New
Sheet - starting with the most recent ( the LAST) occurrence.
For instance, each time 80 and 87 appear together in the same Row, return the
INTERVAL by calculating the number of Rows between the LAST instance and the
PREVIOUS instance in a column - locate when both Numeric values LAST appeared
together and Count back to their PREVIOUS appearance together to get the
required Count; i.e. count from the Row ABOVE LAST appearance to the Row
BEFORE PREVIOUS appearance.
The results are returned to a chart / matrix layout: I have the criterion
vertically and horizontally and they are referenced using the horizontal and
vertical cell address that houses each criterion, and the results are
returned across the Row of the intercept of the vertical and horizontal
criterion. At some point both criterion values being referenced will be the
same, can the Formula return empty text "" when this occurs?
Example Chart / Matrix Layout:
Cell Ref. A2 and B1 criterion 80 and 80
Cell Ref. A3 and B1 criterion 81 and 80
Cell Ref. A4 and B1 criterion 82 and 80
Criteria B1 houses 80
A2 houses 80
A3 houses 81
A4 houses 82
A5 houses 83

In my workbook I have about 20 sheets (less in the attached sample), and on most sheets I’d like to query data for each day and find an average value based on the time and then copy that result into another sheet. I’m not sure if I’ll need 2 macro’s for this or if one can be used.
Here’s a quick description:
Assuming that I am currently in the sheet I want to run the macro, then I will either input “1:45” or “0:45” into a popup box, or I could always simply input the 1:45 or 0:45 in the code itself. I’m flexible
1:45:
If I input 1:45, then I’d like the macro to find the first 1:45 in Column B and the value in the same row in Column F will be used in the calculation. Once 1:45 is located, then the macro moves up to find 22:45 in Column B and the value in the same row in Column F will be used in the calculation.....

I have a spreadsheet with over 15 columns showing drivers (names numbers etc) and their duties with more inf.
What I need is to be able to find when a certain type of driver in column A (drivers belong to different rutes) say from route A is at rest (this is shown as RD) which is shown in column B and then be able to count how many times those two exact events occur.

I have a long column of 9-digit numbers which represent the swipe-card-ID's of patrons accessing a parking facility. Most of them occur more than once, some of them many times. There is an operational rule that bars them from using the facility more than x times. (I can't implement this limitation in the parking software/hardware, or I would happily do so.)
So my question is, is there a way to process through that column, identifying each unique ID, and reporting any that occur more than x times?

I have a two ranges of columns containing names. I need to count how many times a specific name appears in ColumnN - Easy enough =COUNTIF(N$2:N$1047,Q3) ...Q3 being the name I am looking for.
Now comes the part I am stuck on. I need to count how many times a name appears in ColumnK but only if there is no name in ColumnN.
I tried =IF(COUNTIF(N3:N1047,""),COUNTIF(K2:K1047,T3),)

I'm trying to determine how much time our agents are spending for their lunch/breaks during 30 minute intervals. Range A8:A200 lists the agent's names, Range B8:B200 lists their lunch/break start times, Range C8:C200 lists their lunch/break end times, and Column E lists the times (8:00, 8:30, 9:00, etc.). If an agent starts their break at 10:57 (Column B) and ends at 11:10 (Column C), the value next to 10:30 (Column E) would have 0:03:00 and the value next to 11:00 would have 0:10:00. But would need to sum all the agents which took a break/lunch between 10:30-11:00, and 11:00-11:30.

In essence I need to see how many login's there were for 06.00 - 10.00 at 15 minute intervals e.g:
06:00 - 5 Logins
06:15 - 1 Logins
06:30 - 3 Logins
06:45 - 11 Logins

In a cell i need this info when
column a = month
column o = staff member
column m = discount given
if no discount is given column m will show 100%
i need the total of all sales made with a discount i.e not 100% and not blank, in a certain month, by a certain member of staff
step 2: i need the average of all these for each member of staff shown in a different cell
i already have the total sales counted per staff member so this will show me who is doing deals and who is doing the biggest deals.

I have never built or used a macro before and need very clear step by step instructions. I am just assuming that a macro is the answer to what I am looking for but if there is a simplier solution that would be fantastic.
I need to be able to repeat a row of data a specified amount of times.
Example:
3 Yellow James
2 Green Mark
5 Purple Sue
1 Orange David
Needs to look like:
3 Yellow James
3 Yellow James
3 Yellow James
2 Green Mark
2 Green Mark
5 Purple Sue
5 Purple Sue
5 Purple Sue
5 Purple Sue
5 Purple Sue
1 Orange David

I am trying to create a formula that would provide a result a specific number of times based on a table in a seperate worksheet. Here is an example:
Person: # of times
John 2
Joe 2
Frank 2
Jack 1
Based on an IF statement, the cell should bring back John, the next cell down should bring back John, the third cell should bring back Joe as John has reached his limit of 2, and have this repeat until all criteria that meet the IF statement have been met.

Code copies the first two columns of a many column table and pastes them at a certain interval (14 columns) to make transfer to a report easy. The problem is that the worksheets each have a different number of columns, but none more than 56 columns. The macro works wonders on the first sheet, but thereafter does not work at all. The first sheet has 27 columns, the second sheet only has 4 columns and the one after has 38 or something.

I have a problem with LAN function. I have following formula to count how many times appears number 2 in a box: LEN(I5)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(I5,"2",""))
in I5 I have 1,2,3,12,34,22,21 . Outcome is 5 which is not what I need. What I wanted to do is to get output of how many times appears number 2, not how many times appears expression 2 (it counts also 22, 21, 12, 2) . The output that I need should be 1 since number 2 appears just once in the box.

I enter a part number in "D1". The number of components required for that part number is returned in "G1" based on a VLookup. I would like a macro that will copy and paste the part number I enter in "D1" in the first empty cell in column "D" and will paste it once for each component (G1) required. For example, if the number of components required is 4, and the first empty cell in column "D" is "D10", I would like to paste the part number in cells "D10", "D11", "D12", and "D13".

I have a list of names all in one column, separated by row...
Example...
John Doe
John Doe
Jane Doe
Jane Doe
Jane Doe
James Jones
James Jones
I want to count how many times each name appears. Like this:
John Doe | 2
Jane Doe | 3
James Jones | 2
This is a very large list of names and I prefer not to have to type each single name into a formula because there are hundreds of separate names.

I am trying to simply count the number of times each entered name appears on my list IE if John Smith appears 3 times in one sheet, in a column after his name would simply be the number 3. I tried this doing =COUNTIF(A8,A:A) Where A8 is his name and column A is all names. I keep a return value of 0 every time!!!!! I even tried =COUNTIF(A7,A12) where they were both the same names. And yes,I did do Ctrl + Shift - enter

I have a sheet set up to record free pour tests for my bar team.
Column A has the date.
Alternating columns from B (B..D..F.. etc) hold a drop down with the staff names
Alternating columns from C (C..E..G.. etc) hold a drop down with either pass or fail as the result.
What I need to do is count the number of times a particular staff name appears, but more importantly how many times they pass or fail.
I can easily count the names, but how do I count if they have pass or failed?

I am trying to come up with a macro that selects values from one sheet and inserts them into another sheet. The number of values will change each time based on the user's entry, as well as the number of times that each entry should be pasted.
For example:
Entry: X | Y | Z
Number of Times to be Inserted to New Sheet 3 | 2 | 1
Result:
X X X Y Y Z
I have spent a while trying to figure it out, however the best I can come up with is using an array, but I can only get one value from the array to paste multiple times:
(*Note: In my testing, I didn't insert into new sheet or set up the array to handle different values, I was just trying to get the basic idea to work)
Dim A(1, 3) As Variant
A(1, 1) = Range("C3").Value
A(1, 2) = Range("D3").Value
A(1, 3) = Range("E3").Value
[Code].....
