I would like to convert a number to minutes. For example .48 or 48 as a formula result to 48 minutes. The reason for doing this is I will add the result to a time.
Forumula result = 48 -> convert to {48 minutes + 12:00 = 12:48}
I've tried using just formating but no luck.
What formula will convert 4.50 to 530 minutes ( "Decimal Time" )
another example 16.50 to 1250 minutes.
I have a spreadsheet that keeps track of my flight time by the day and then totals it for the month however, I keep it in a decimal number (i.e. 89.23). I want the final total number to be in Hours and Minutes hhh:mm and can not for the life of me figure out the formula to make it come out in hours and minutes. I can either convert the one final decimal number over to hours and minutes or add the entire collumn of decimal numbers and have THAT total converted to hours and minutes. It's doesn't matter to me. I just can't figure out the formula.

When trying out dividing the minutes and second by 60 and checking my calculation on Google Maps lat/long finder or Latlong.net my calculations are not correct. At the end of a trip i transfer all the data to my computer, then "auto sum" the "HOURS" and the "MINUTES" columns. At the bottom of ech trip I end up with figures, lets say 32 (hours) in column "J" and 303 (minutes) in column "K".
Now 303 minutes is {5 hours and 3 minutes}. Now we all know that mathematically we can work out that {3} minutes is 0.05 of 1 hour and that would make the total time worked 32 (hours) + 5 (hours(from the minutes)) + the last 3 minutes and the total is 37 hours and 3 minutes.
What I am in need of is a formula that will take the hours in column "J" add the hours from column "K", leaving the minutes to be converted to 0.05, giving me a total in cell "M29" that can then be multiplied by the wage rate in cell "M30", giving me an amount that I should be paid in cell "M31"

I have two columns A and B. Column A contains problem title and column B is duration minutes. In doing this I have declared a few variables of type single (I only need two decimal precision). However, when I copy the values from the cells on the source workbook and paste them into the target workbook, the numbers end up having 12 decimal places. Ultimately, this extra precision causes my totals to be off by .01 or more after a while. A colleague has columns of data that when summed are all wrong i.e. 8.65 instead of 9 Hours 5 minutes.
I am wanting to take a number (any number) and multiply it by per minute using real time. For example: Say I have 12 apples. I want that 12 apples to multiply per hour.
12x(per 60 minutes)= total
The total will change every hour because the formula will be using real time. I can write the formula for 12x60 but to enter the time, based on real time I just don't know or even if it can be done.

I am trying to write a function that will convert a number into days-hours-minutes. I have managed to get as far as hours-minutes using the following function.

I need to calculate the total cost of outbound calls based on the total duration of outbound calls multiplied by cost per minute. For example, in a given month, the total duration of outbound calls is 261:16:34 being 216 hours, 16 minutes and 34 seconds. I have this figure in cell A1 with the format [h]:mm:ss. I then convert this to minutes in cell B1 by saying B1=A1, but having the format [m], which gives me 15676. In cell C1, I have the cost per minte value of £0.026. But when I apply the formula D1=B1*C1, I get £0.283, when 15676*£0.026 should in fact be £407.58.

There are 8 hours in a shift starting at 6:45. So hour 1 would be (6:45-7:45), hour 2 (7:45-8:45). If the machine breaks down between 7:06 and 8:20 what will be the amount of time lost in each hour? In this example it would be 39 mins in hour 1 and 35 mins in hours 2. How I can achieve this result?

Mon 7h 55m
Tues 6h 30m
Wed 7h 24m
etc
Is there a method of changing this in excel to work out the number of minutes I have worked each day? The timekeeping programme does not let me alter any parameters, so h & m is what I have.
